Found Pac Carb on Yelp. Brought my 55 Chevy truck to them. New carb was installed and was told it was faulty and had to be replaced by another mechanic. Didn't sound right to me so took my truck to Pac Carb. Bill diagnosed the problem. Carb only needed minor adjustment. Real problem was distributor had to be replaced. Truck now runs excellent. I called and made an appointment and when I came by with my Datsun they asked me about the issue (I had tried to tune my carb but totally messed up the settings so it was running rough and idling low), Bill immediately came and heard the motor, adjusted the carb on the spot, had me take it for a test drive and it was running the best it has ever ran! The accelerator was so responsive and I was very happy with the work. The staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable and I'm happy to say that I now know where I'll be going for all of my carburetor needs! Just got my 85 Saleen Mustang back from Pacific Carburetors in Ventura. Christie behind the desk is such a pleasure to deal with and Bill is a magician with fuel systems. My Mustang hasn't run right in years but finding someone who knows fuel systems is very difficult because it's a lost Art working on carburetors. After working his magic my Mustang idles so smoothly, acceleration is very smooth and now even the relationship with the throttle and clutch is so smooth, I don't have to constantly over Rev the throttle to get a smooth engagement. Driving is now fun and is how it was meant to be with a car like this. I just can't say enough about Bill and Christie, what a team they make. I highly recommend their services. I guarantee your fuel system, no matter what type it is, needs a going over with these artists to tune your system to optimize the performance your system was designed for. Worth every penny! Don't be a fool like me and try to fix your carb after reading forums and watching YT. Just take your car in. I spent the same amount of money tinkering to try and fix my edelbrock 1406 issues since time was an issue and I just couldn't get my car in to them. I should have just waited and let them fix it. At least I didn't screw it up that bad and they were able to resolve my problems. Vacuum advance was bad, needed a rejet, and set timing and idle the correct way instead of by my ear. Needless to say it starts right up, the hesitation is gone and she purrs like a kitten. I hope I never have to see them again but I won't hesitate to go back if I do. read more

Best choice I made for my car this year. Brought my 68 Dodge Coronet to Bill on a recommendation from two other car guys I know. My Holley HP4150 was not cooperating even though it had been methodically and meticulously gone through multiple times. Bill recommended the Quick Fuel 750cfm mechanical secondaries and annular boosters. I bought it and brought it back to them for fine tuning. The carb on my 67 corvette was leaking. Pacific carburetor did a complete rebuild. The car was running better with no leaks. The only problem was a fast idle. My 72' Datsun 240z was having some kind of weird fuel delivery issue where she would sputter/not accelerate past 55 or so mph. Thinking it was the carbs I brought her to Bill and the team at Pacific Carb Co. just going off all their reviews and YES BELIEVE THE REVIEWS these guys are amazing!! Super friendly, and walked me (a relative novice) through what they were doing very thoroughly. I did have to come by and drive her to make sure the problem went away twice but Bill and his guys were so patient getting my Z road worthy given the trial and error this job took. I really appreciated how gung-ho/committed Bill was to solving the mystery fuel delivery issue, it was a huge show of trustworthy character and deeply reassuring as a customer. I even mentioned how my birthday was coming up and would've loved to be able to drive my baby again for it, and whattya' know they went so far as to make sure the job was done day-of!! Some serious next-level customer service. Not only that but I was blown away by their pricing walking out of there given the amount of time the job took. My Z has NEVER ran better, and doesn't complain one bit on a long highway trip or through a shakedown in the Santa Monica Mountains. If you're like me, a total novice when it comes to carbs and refuse to touch them, take it to the team at Pacific Carb. I was worried they wouldn't take me seriously given the physical condition of my car relative to the fancier stuff they usually have parked inside but they treated me like anyone else, so don't worry if you drive junky looking stuff like me haha. Bring your aspirated carb here! Here's the story - car has been here 4 times with different issues . 1963 Chevy Belair 4 door - original owner (great grandpa). All original. I have replaced everything on this car. Bottom line - continued to randomly stop running. Bill and crew used their experience over the years, combined it with a little troubleshooting, and found the original ignition switch was grounding out. Car has been spot on since the final repair. Reasonable prices, they do the job right (no splicing or cheap fixes), and aren't satisfied till you are. By the way, when the professionals need work done, they send it to these guys too ( two restorers I contacted referred me here). They do way more than carbs - just call and ask. read more

I had to wait a nearly 2 weeks for an appointment with these guys but wow it was worth the wait. The wait shows how many people are willing to wait for outstanding service. I have a 76 Chevy, I've taken it to other carburetor places that have simply gotten it to run but that was about it. The guys here at Pacific had it for a couple of hours and fixed/calibrated the previous shops work. It runs smoother than ever and it passed smog on the first try. Hear that? Jeff knew exactly what was wrong within moments when I described what was wrong and did a computer diagnostic to confirm it that took about 5 minutes. My car is running great! These guys are great! Was racing the clock trying to get smog & DMV done before they closed but truck I'd just bought kept stalling. Me and my friend Bar have been going to Pac Carb for at least 8years for maintenance of our cars from the Yukon to the Porsche to the Camry. Bar is a car guy himself so he knows his mechanics. So far my experience has been all good . I have had oil leaks, spark plug issues, headlight issues, radiator problems ,electrical problems and other major issues with my old car. Bar has had his classic Yukon towed there all the way from Woodland Hills, that's how much he likes and trusts Bill and his team of friendly and competent mechanics. I never feel like the woman who walks into a repair shop with a sticker on her forehead that says "SUCKER! " . Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! This might have been the best customer experience I have ever had, EVER. Had some questions about another's shops diagnosis of my boat carburetor, had me come sit down with Bill, the owner, and explain my situation. He was such an awesome guy and straight shooter. Not calling out the other boat shop in this review, nah, F- them... Specialized Marine wanted to charge me almost a Grand and told me my carb was not fixable. Bill had me bring it to him, he opened it up with me, for free mind you, and said it simply needed a rebuild. Huh, funny, that's what I brought it to those clowns at Specialized Marine for. All they did was throw some gaskets at it, and a bunch of other BS and told me my boat was still running rough, but you owe us $600. Clowns tried to get me. Luckily Bill saved me. He instantly diagnosed it, rebuilt it and had my back. I pulled my boat from Specialized and brought it straight to Bill. He and his brother installed it, tuned it in perfectly and my boat is running better than it ever has. These guys know their stuff. Trust me, trust me, this is where you need to bring anything mechanical. Not only did they fix my carb and get my boat running great, they helped cheer me up while I was stressed out with these other clowns. My 36 year old chevy van with 338,919 miles on it failed CA SMOG Test. Pacific Carburetor did a thorough rebuild of the carb, and had replaced the catalytic converter. All is great now. I haven't written to yelp before but must in this case. PC is without a doubt the best. When others can't fix your carburetor-equipped car, these guys can. My recent experience is having taken a carbed car for a smog check to another shop and having it returned smog compliant but undriveable. PC maintained the smog standards and made it run perfectly. Immediately after that I took a fuel-injected car in when another shop told me it required a $400 part. Nope - a little cleaning here, clear the computer and good as new. My experience is that equipment will never run as well as it does after a visit. Knowledgable, thoughtful and concerned about their customer. (And don't tell them but they really are a bargain!!) read more

Great people, friendly and helpful.. I had been looking for sometime for a pump rod for a motorcraft 4300 carb. that came off a 1968 Thunderbird. Well I found here. Bill brought out a parts container full of pump rods and let us go through it. We found what we were looking for. The price was right considering the difficulty I had locating the pump rod in the Southern CA area. Best yet...I found this business in my own backyard and did not have to drive to L.A..
