Had some horrible takeout from PF Changs. To me this is a completely different experience than I've had here in the past. Has the quality of the food gone down?? I think so. We ordered a simple california sushi roll and it was just blah, mushed avocado, no cucumber, no flavor in the meat, it consisted of mostly dry rice, and I question if what I ate was even seafood--it was also a very small portion of sushi for $10. My husband ordered Mongolian Beef, and I had two bites of that. I don't know how to describe it other than it tasted like a microwaveable meal and it was $20!! Not a generous portion either, barely fed one person. He ate the food, but agreed it was just like a microwaved meal. In conclusion, I can't believe how much of a rip off this place is. Very low quality food for a huge mark up. I won't be back and honestly expect this restaurant to close down. I used to love PF Changs when I was younger, I remember ordering the Duck entree with the fluffy pancakes and loving it every time--but the menu and the quality of food they have at this PF Changs in Waco is almost worse than fast food Chinese and triple the price for small portions! Ive been to this location before and had Maddie as my server so when I came back I knew i needed to ask for her. She is an amazing server and is always so personable and makes great recommendations. I really enjoy the lettuce wraps and the dynamite roll. I tried the new filet mignon wontons they were really tasted probably one of my new favorite items. If you come to this location do yourself a favor and ask for Maddie she will ensure you and your guests have a great time and good experience. read more

LOVE this restaurant! Went to dinner on Wednesday night to celebrate me getting a job! We were seated and when our waiter, Justin, came over, he asked if we were celebrating anything special. My friend said "YES! She got a job today!" and Justin congratulated me. We had great service the entire night and I was so glad I chose P.F. Changs for my celebration dinner! When he brought us the check, he also brought me a free dessert and then he said "Congrats again on the job! We all wanted to congratulate you" and he handed me a card. The envelope had "Congrats!" written on it. I opened it and the card had so many little notes written on it from the staff. I don't know many other restaurants that would take the time to write a note for a guest. Even though none of them know me, it meant a lot to me that they would take the time out of their busy night to encourage me! P.F. One of better places for Asian food in Waco, although that is not a very high bar. The food is good, although somewhat expensive. What is not obvious from looking at the menu is that they will substitute tofu for meat in many of the dishes. The Kung Pao and Chang's Spicy are particularly good with tofu. read more

First let me say I am a huge P.F. Chang's supporter so my review only reflects my experience at the Waco location. We arrived on a Saturday at 4:45pm and the restaurant wasn't busy. It took a bit for them to seat us and there's really no waiting area but the one bench by the hostess stand had mud from the rain so we couldn't sit down. The mud had been there long enough for it to dry(too long, especially for the timeframe we were there). When we were seated, it was a booth near the front with a line of sight to the bathrooms. The waitstaff apparently store their aprons in the closet by the bathroom (I personally don't think that's an appropriate area). Also there's no partition between the seats and the front so it was very distracting and loud. The hostess staff frequently used the top of our booth to lean on and look across the restaurant. I thought it was rude and intrusive. It doesn't appear the waitstaff has a dress code either or perhaps it's "just wear black". A lot of them had jeans and a black shirt on. I feel like all the other P.F. Chang's locations require their staff to wear nice black button downs and black pants or nice jeans. Perhaps the casualness of the Waco staff was done intentionally to match the plain, noisy and utilitarian feel of the place. The food took 25 minutes to receive and the quality didn't live up to P.F Chang's standards. Our waitress said "sorry for the wait", so we appreciated that at least. Overall, we won't be back to this location. The building itself isn't designed very well and it definitely lowers P.F. Chang's brand reputation in my eyes. read more

My wife & I were in there a week ago and was her 2nd time to P.F. Chang's. Her 1st experience was at the Dallas Northpark location where she fell in love with the food. So while we were on the Waco area, we went to this location. We ordered lettuce wraps, spring rolls and the black pepper chicken. After we were nearly finished eating the 2 appetizers, the waiter came back and asked if we would like to order something else. We said no, just waiting for the Singapore Black Pepper chicken. He had that "Oh Crap" look in his face, and said he would check on it. I saw him talking to the chef (or ?) and a few minutes later said, sorry it's taking so long, but it'll be out soon. Meanwhile, the table next to us who was seated and ordered after us had their food. The Singapore Black Pepper chicken came out, my wife took 2 bites and I could see disappointment in her face. To me, it tasted okay, but was not quite like we had in Dallas. I just wrote it off as, P.F. Chang's Waco isn't up to par like Dallas. But my wife wasn't eating it. The waiter came by and she's how things were, I started to say something, but decided it was best not to. I just replied, "It's okay!" Several minutes later, a woman comes to our table and identities herself as the manager. (I'm going off of memory here) I think it was Sylvia. We told her if our disappointment in the Singapore Black Pepper chicken. She looked at it and said, "that's my favorite and it doesn't look right, let me get that remade for you." The replacement came out and you could VISUALLY see the difference. The taste was HUGELY different. So what happened, the waiter confessed to having forgotten to submit the order for the Black Pepper chicken, so when he realized we were waiting, he talked to the chef and told him. But the chef tried to RUSH the order and the quality and taste suffered. We were not in a rush. I'd rather wait and get there quality P.F. Chang's is known for, than it be rushed. So the main reasons I'm giving a 5 Star and not 4 or below, is when done RIGHT, the food was excellent. But the biggest reasons, are kudos to Sylvia the manager for comping 80% of our meal, her understanding, her true dedication to "Customer Service" and making it right. The other part is for our waiter who later came and apologized and owned his mistake and not blaming someone else. All in all, the food (when corrected) was fabulous. Just not good food and very slow service. Panda Express has much better Kung Pao chicken. Hard fried, a little bit of celery with peppers that's it. Lettuce wraps were dry, awful, and wet lettuce. This place is horrible. I wanted to try it again after it opened up a year or so ago, the food fell off after grand opening then and I stopped going. Tonight was worst than before. We sat down with a party of six and everyone at the table was very dissatisfied with the food. It came to us cold the first time had been sitting out for a while. The second time was no better after they attempted to correct it. When we spoke with the Manager on duty she said the one thing you don't say to a customer who is explaining to you about an unhappy experience. "Well no one else in here has complained about the food". This restaurant won't last Waco if you don't do a complete redo from executive chef or chefs to waiting staff. First time here. We waited 45minutes for a table which was understandable for a Saturday night. However, the bad rating is for waiting for our food, after we ordered, for over an hour. We noticed we were not the only ones. We did not see anyone in our section get main dishes for about 45 minutes, only appetizers were served. We are not sure why, they never explained, maybe someone forgot to pay the gas bill. When the food finally came out about 1 hour and 10 minutes after we ordered, the food was good but small portions. Tonight was our 4th visit, two have been average (busy times), one excellent and tonight's meal was 2/3rds poorly prepared. The service has been good on all occasions, but: 1. The kitchen is inconsistent at best and can't handle pressure, they fall apart and two of the three things were ordered were not prepared properly. The dumplings came out soggy and the surf and turf was overcooked and the shrimp was VERY FISHY, barely tasting like shrimp. 2. The employees are involved with the customers and try hard not to show that they are frustrated with what's happening in the kitchen, but most are young and only so good at hiding it, which they shouldn't have to. 3. The managers don't seem to have a clue and don't engage the customers very often. 4. When Chang's sends out coupons and you try to use them, it becomes a problem in that the servers can't seem to get the system to recognize the coupon and you have to wait until the manager can finally make the coupon work. I have been to four different Changs before this one, if they don't get it together, it won't last.... read more

Unfortunate. Visited the Waco location for the fifth or sixth time this evening. They really have been open long enough to have straightened out their issues by now. The menu is the menu. Same as every other P.F. Chang's in the country. I feel bad for the servers. They have always been up to the usual P.F. Chang's level of service, friendly, helpful, and generally apologetic for the less than stellar kitchen/expediting/management staff. I have yet to have an entree come out that was not either on top of the appetizers, cold, or incorrect. Tonight, waited 37 minutes for a bowl of soup. Our poor server went back twice asking for it. Finally she brought it out. Barely temped. Our server had just finished placing the bowls down when the runner brought our entrees. Again. Cold. The manager just roams around not asking guests anything, even when obviously unhappy. Took home 80% of the meal yo microwave so it will be hot. Only branch in the area. The Waco diners will flock to new establishments while they are "new" but I foresee this branch being fairly unsuccessful in the future if they don't get it together. read more

Wow this place is the worst. I'm normally a big P.F. Chang's fan but this Waco location was horrendous. I planned to have a dinner here with some friends to celebrate my birthday, so I went online and made a reservation for 13 people. They book reservations through OpenTable on their website and as soon as I booked it, I received a confirmation email. About an hour after I made the reservation, we added someone to our party so I called and changed it to 14. The lady I spoke with on the phone was nice and said that was totally fine. She assured me my reservation was booked for 14. When I got there, they told us they couldn't find our reservation. I told the manager that I booked online AND called to confirm, and he basically told me that there was no way I booked online because their website supposedly only allows for parties of 4 or smaller?? That didn't make any sense to me especially because I called and the hostess confirmed I had a reservation for 14. The manager was extremely rude and unhelpful, and literally did not believe that I had a reservation until I showed him the email confirmation on my phone. He finally said "fine, I'll see what I can do." He then left, and didn't come back to us for about 40 minutes. At this point I was getting ready to leave, so I went and found him and asked what was going on and if he was even attempting to seat us somewhere. He, again, was extremely rude and said he would get us seated "soon" (whatever that meant). FINALLY after over an hour we were seated. Our waitress was nice (the only good thing about my experience). We had to wait over an hour before people finally started getting their food, and it was BAD. Even the fried rice (which is the most basic order) was super dry and gross. Still, half of my party was still waiting for our food, but we asked for the checks because at that point we had been there so long we just wanted to leave. After I paid for my food (which I still hadn't received) the waitress came over to me and told me that they actually didn't even have the soup that I ordered. I got up and left. I am disappointed in the lack of flavor in the Shrimp Fried Rice and in the Combination Fried Rice. We've visited the Waco location twice and the rice dishes were bland both times which is inconsistent with the taste of the same dishes at locations in Nevada and California. But unfortunately 6 people out of our group of 12 said they had upset stomachs after their meal. The food came cold and the service was slow. Two gals found a hair in their meal. I'm so sad. This has been my favorite restaurant for years. We went yesterday and it was filthy. Unbussed tables were everywhere- the floor was covered in food. I'm talking at least 10 dirty tables. The service was extremely slow- we went for a late lunch and it took over an hour to get our food. Our server was very nice, but he couldn't make up for the lack of upkeep. The plates were chipped, which makes black plates look dirty. The women's bathroom had one working stall and was dirty and covered in towel trash. For the expense of eating there, they need new management. It won't last long if they don't fix this. read more

Tonight is a complete cluster f!!!!k... It's Mother's Day, we're still in the restaurant. Where do I start!?!?! We ordered soup, steamed dumplings and two sushi choices. You'd think the soup would come out first right?? No. Everything except our main entrees and one sushi came out at the same time. Our drinks, well they took fifteen minutes. After getting slammed with most our evenings food at once, now we've been waiting over twenty five minutes for our remaining order. Asked for two more drinks, they came again after fifteen minutes and they were incorrect. We have dishes and glasses siting at the end of our table to be cleared for one hour and a half. Managers and wait staff continue to walk by as our table sits crowded with dishes. We have now been here two hours with no main entree.... Their not that busy, but sure are acting like it. All the staff is walking around making faces and talking to themselves! Really bad experience and very disappointed especially since this is not an inexpensive restaurant! Good luck. Oh let me add, only one urinal, one toilet. Two sinks, but only one works. Paper towel dispenser does not work, and it's shared with the employees.... Are you frickin kidding me right now! Kung poa chicken is more like " kung pos chicken"! Completely tasteless and who does breaded Kung pao?!?! Never in my 48 years of living have I seen it breaded, completely tasteless. I originally had an issue with the online ordering system. Money was taken out but no receipt was given. There was not a number online for P.F. Chang's corporate for online ordering assistance. When I first went to P.F. Chang's after it happened the manager on duty was pretty much nonchalant about it and asked me did I still want to order, but then I talked to BETH! I talked to her a couple days later and she made me feel heard and understood. She talked to her general manager, Marg. Marg gave the ok and Beth called ME back (emphasis on give this woman a raise) to let me know that I can come up there and get the food. Julian was the manager on duty and he helped me to order the food. The food was great so shout out to PF Chang's management! Specifically Beth for making stuff happen. She is a lead now but she needs to be a manager she been there for a minute anyway give that woman a raise. read more

Given a table quickly (it was only 4pm). But the waiter struggled. "What would you like to drink?" No greeting. No name. Definitely no specials of any kind. I gave him my order (Iced Tea). He took quite awhile to assemble for the beverage station being right by my table. He gave me my drink and said, "Do you know what you want to order or need more time?"
