Blackberry moonshine margarita
Sherri J.

Great little distillery. They do free tastings of their house made bourbon, vodka, moonshine and beer. After the tasting we decided on the Ozark Luau pizza, Blackberry moonshine margarita and house brewed lager. Everything was delicious and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend if you are in the Lake of the Ozarks area!

We went on a tour and the owner was giving the tour. He explained all about the process on the making of moonshine. The ambiance was very welcoming. We didn't get any food but they do serve popcorn and pizza. The different flavor moonshines were really good. Must stop and take a tour. Friendly staff.

On a rainy day after labor day, and looking for something cool, we stopped by here and were pretty surprised. It's a bit unassuming, but the drinks were strong and the samples just as friendly as the staff. Which might I add is a family gig. You can really tell it was the owner's dream to make something they're passionate about and everyone pitched in. The vanilla bean moonshine was my favorite. You can also have cocktails after samples. The Harry Potter inspired butter beer one was my friend's favorite.

Blackberry margarita on the back patio!

We love this place. Employees are very friendly and welcoming! We typically sit on the back patio but have needed to sit inside the last couple of visits ( due to weather). Towards the end of our last visit the owner stopped by to introduce himself and to tell us a bit of his and the distillery's history. When my daughter visits from Cape Cod this is always a stop ( or 2) for us! Love the blackberry margaritas and pizza is great too!

Family of 5 did the tour and Dave is awesome!!! Funny, informative, and inspiring! And to top it off you get to taste his fabulous products! It's a must do!!!

A fantastic, fun, educational experience for our bachelorette party group. Highly recommend taking the tour and doing the tastings. David is a great story teller of his craft!

Make sure you get a reservation as they do fill up quickly during the summertime. All ages will enjoy the tour but 21 and old are the only ones that can try the samples. It took about and hour as the whole process was explained to us and we were taken to a building in the back where all the distilling goes on. Went with my in laws and they seemed to enjoy it too! Very clean facility, they have alcohol for purchase after the tour.

We stopped by to see what is the history of the distillery and we were hooked. The customer service , the pizza, the samples and the selection of items did not disappoint. I loved their Bloody Mary's. We were glad that we decided to come in and check out this little hidden gem. I would recommend to come here !

Our visit to Ozark Distillery, complete with tasting and tour, was nothing short of incredible. The tour, which was only $5, outclassed pretty much every other brewery and distillery tour I have taken. This is thanks in large part to John, the owner, whose colorful and comedic approach to whiskey 101 is informative, hilarious, and doesn't drag on and on like distillery and brewery tours often do. The fact that you can show up early, grab yourself a beer or cocktail from the bar, and carry it with you on the tour is just icing on the cake. The tasting afterwards was informal and plentiful. The corn, cinnamon, and butter bean whiskies were my favorites, though I liked everything I sampled, and we took home a few bottles for later. We just walked in for the tour, but the lady behind the bar was highly recommending to folks that they reserve a spot online. I think we probably got lucky, because our tour ended up being very full. I would definitely try to make reservations. We were in town for a bachelor party, by the way, and the Ozark Distillery visit was a perfect daytime bachelor party activity. They open at 10am on Saturday and take it from me: drinking corn whiskey at 10am in the morning is a fantastic idea! Cheers!

Very friendly and helpful service, as well as a clean and tidy eating area with both indoor and outdoor options. We had the meat lover and deluxe pizzas - both were tasty and provided plenty of food. They also offered us free popcorn while we waited for the pizza, but we did not take them up on it. We had the John Daily cocktail which was very good. Great place to stop off if you're in the area.

You can grab tickets online or in person, and they have a really cute gift shop with fun little trinkets worth browsing before or after your tour. Our tour guide Lee was so amazing! He's been there for years and years and you can just tell. Great stories, super personable, the kind of guide that makes the whole experience way more memorable. We even spotted a bat hibernating which was such a cool unexpected moment! The cave itself is fascinating and I loved that it was great for all ages. Our group ranged from little kids to people in their 70s and everyone was into it with no problems. A few spots can get slightly slippery so just watch your step, but there are handrails throughout so nothing felt unsafe. Also found out they host events here too like a black light event and even concerts inside the cave which sounds incredibly cool. Definitely want to come back for one of those. Overall I was really impressed and would highly recommend adding this to your Missouri road trip list.

What was nice about these caverns is that they are almost entirely wheelchair/stroller accessible…read moreand we were able to take our one-year old daughter on the tour in our stroller. That's pretty rare with cave tours. This was the only cave tour we did during our week-long family summer vacation in Missouri and we enjoyed it. Our guide, Maddie, was wonderful and very enthusiastic. The tour was an hour and we had a smaller group who were wonderful and I enjoyed learning about the cave, the history of the cave, and walking all around. It was fun and well done. If you are nearby, this is something I think you should do. They have plenty of parking, nice grounds, a penny press souvenir machine, a nice gift shop and are great with kids with some other interactive things to do before or after the tour.

I had seen the had some higher priced bottles (maybe someday) but i was sure I would find something i liked. I was also sure it would be one of there bourbons . . . . but I ended up leaving with 3 different corn whiskies. One made from red corn, one from blue corn, and a red, white, and blue corn whiskey (250th anniversary of the USA remember). I showed up around 4:00 PM and hadn't signed up for a tour but they were happy to give me a quick tour as well as walk me through every single whiskey. I had a sample flight and ended up taking hme one or two more than planned. Oh, and the guy actually makes wood hats too. You can try them on too. The one i tried on was a little small for me, so no laughing at the picture . . . . okay?

Definitely stop by if driving on 1-70!

I've been to Hermann about 5 times now. We've always missed out on eating here and I was so excited…read morewe were going to finally get to try it out. We had a party of 12 and we were told we'd be sat at different tables, no big deal. 8 of our party went to one table and the other 4 sat at a table catty corner to our party. We had separate waiters which I think was maybe their first mistake. Both tables ordered drinks and appetizers that came fast and were delicious....then things quickly fell apart. We were one of the first few tables seated. Our other parties tables food came out and us 4 at the other table was still waiting. We continued to wait while every table that came in after us starts getting their meals. Finally the table behind us that came in 30 min after us got their meals, we asked the waitress if she could check on our food? She came back and said it was "being plated." We wait a solid 30 more min and by this time our other parties table had eaten and were paying and we still did not have our food. Asked the waitress again who said they were waiting on mashed potatoes. We got up to check with the manager who was bartending who never once apologized or stopped to check on what was going on and only said "we got swamped." Which was a crazy excuse considering we were one of the first tables to order. Since the manager refused to help at all we talked to the hostess who was seating people and may have been the asst manager. She checked on our food and told us "there was a problem with the pesto." When our food came out my daughter mushroom and Swiss burger was charred to a crisp and hard. Finally the assistant manager took our meals off of our tickets. It was a frustrating experience for our first visit there and didn't leave a great impression. The food (minus my daughter's burger) and drinks were really good. I'm not sure where the disconnect happened but the managers poor excuse and the way he completely ignored us and the situation was pretty poor customer service. We come to Hermann every year and this year had brought people who had never been before. Sad they didn't get an enjoyable experience and my daughter didn't even get a meal.
