Idit is so amazing and her food is super tasty. She does such a great job with everything from helping to select the dishes to beautifully presenting and setting up the food. With only 1 week's notice, she catered our hoiday/housewarming party. She made multiple sides, soup, and desserts. Idit personally delivered the food and set it all up in our kitchen. Idit, owner of Oz Catering, did such an amazing job for our wedding last weekend! We'd originally planned on having a friend cater the event, but plans fell through last minute and we were madly scrambling for an alternative. Of all the caterers we interviewed, Idit was by far the most flexible, accommodating, and easy to work with. While other caterers were very rigid about what they could and could not provide, Idit was very willing to work with us to make it the event we wanted. My husband and I really enjoyed the tasting in Idit's home and the chance to get to know her before the event. But at the wedding itself, she blew it out of the water! The food tasted even better than at the tasting--the fish was perfectly cooked (which is very difficult to pull off for such a large event) and the vegan tagine was a huge hit. We had so many guests compliment us on the food, and it felt so nice to hear from people that this was THE BEST WEDDING FOOD THEY'D EVER HAD. Oz Catering was one of the best vendor decisions we made for our wedding. We'd hire Oz again in a heartbeat. Idit far exceeded expectations, we loved her crew (especially the bartender who was such a big hit), and her pricing was transparent and extremely reasonable. Wow. Top notch, start to finish. Idit definitely contributed a lot to the success of our wedding. MENU PLANNING: Idit offered us an enormous number of great options. It was hard to thin them down. She happily adjusted several times (nuts on the side, that kind of thing). EVENT PLANNING: We met with her several times, including a site visit, as we went over all of the details. Our wedding was not going to be perfectly predictable, and she rolled with it well. Of course, we had to have a reasonable window for dinner, but other than that, everything was flexible on the day. When to do the wine, standing hors d'oevres, cake cutting, champagne, etc -- she didn't press us for anything more than a general outline. FOOD: I've never had better food at a wedding. I would normally chalk that up to wedding-day bias, but we heard that from too many other people for it to be *just* bias. SERVERS: These are people she's worked with for years. They were very professional and trustworthy. We thought we had lost two boxes of wine, and I suspected one of the servers. In fact, they helped us search for and find the boxes, which I had left in an odd place during the craziness of setting up. OUT OF VIEW: Neither Idit nor her servers were in the way. It wasn't an ego thing for them; they just wanted to make our day perfect. I actually did some wedding catering myself about 20 years ago, so I have a window into what it takes. We won't be getting married again, but when we need catering for other reasons, I have no reason to look anywhere else. read more

Look no further. Oz Catering was the perfect caterer for our Wedding party of 95 people. First off this was the tastiest wedding food I've ever had. The appetizers and meal flavors were phenomenal. Secondly, Idit Oz lead the kitchen with full confidence. We had a challenging multi-tiered garden venue layout and Idit and her staff handled the whole day with finesse and ease. Her staff tended bar and served food as seasoned pros, and I especially appreciated how they made sure we bride and groom were comfortable all day long by stealthily slipping us appetizers and drinks while we enjoyed ourselves and/or spoke to all our guests. As the chef for a dance retreat I attended at Shambala Ranch, her creativity and ability to please a diverse group of people astounded me. Wow!! Idit Oz catered our wedding in Sonoma County this past September and we honestly can't say enough great things about her. Idit's go-getter attitude mixed with her delicious recipes and many, many years of experience in the industry makes her the ideal caterer to partner with. After our first tasting, we knew that Idit was going to take great care of us. She listened to our needs, provided us with her best recommendations and was very accommodating to our feedback. Ultimately, Idit put together a complete menu of appetizers and entrees that were exactly what we were looking for. And the food was INCREDIBLE - our guests cleaned their plates and most went back to the buffet line for seconds. There was no shortage of food what-so-ever. Everyone left the reception very, very full! :-) Idit also put together the full, detailed list of rental items we needed. She laid out exactly how many forks, wine glasses, salt & pepper shakes, etc. we needed to get from our rental company. This was extremely helpful! From the chefs, to the bartenders and the servers - Idit's staff is comprised of top-notch professionals. We hired Oz Catering for our son's wedding reception. We had a short time to put it all together and Idit Oz was amazing! From the moment I met her it was obvious that food is her passion. She has a warm and friendly demeanor that put me at ease during what could have been a very stressful event. We came back to our house after the wedding ceremony to find our home transformed - the food presentation was so elegant and the entire staff was top notch were all excellent to work with. Absolute disappointment after reading all the great reviews about Oz Catering. We hosted a Kiddush Luncheon for 125 people after my son's bar mitzvah. We then found out that a couple who was getting married the following day would join us in the celebration so we added an additional 25 people. Edit negotiated a contract with us for the 150 people and then collected again for the additional 25 people from the family--Highly unethical. Basically she double billed and did this in a very sneaky way, pretending she was unaware of the situation. She came up to us during the kiddush as we were taking family pictures and demanded her check saying she had to go early. I had to leave my 84 year old mother in a wheelchair while I went to the kitchen and write her a check. When questioned about the money she received from the other family, Edit denied receiving a check.. We later found out that she recieved a check from the other family as well as from us. Edit--Shame on you!! The food itself was also a disappointment. There were stale brownie bites from Trader Joe's and some cookies from Costco. For the $2300 she charged, we expected better than Costco, Trader Joe's and Safeway Deli foods. We expected homemade catered foods. When questioned about this her response was, "What do you expect for the price you were quoted." What a huge disapointment. Unethical and poor food to top it off. I calculated that she charged $2600 for probably $300 worth of bagels and Trader Joe's foods. I would NEVER use Edit Oz catering for any event. Be warned!! Bad food and unethical. A poor combination for a caterer. read more
