While not exactly my cup of tea I have been here to find presents for my astrologically inclined Mum and she has loved everything I have found her. Beautiful crystals, candles, books and jewelery, all of which make great presents. The staff here are friendly, helpful and are involved in Melbourne's astrological 'scene' and know what will appeal to family and friends of all ages. Shekinah is located on the terrace behind the plaza that is home to Coles, if your having trouble finding it just ask a passerby, most locals will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Gifts of Elegance in Forest Hill is a little misleading in its shop name. Sure, there are a few…read moretypically 'elegant' items like floral vases and crystal dishes but there are also plenty of non-elegant items right alongside. I certainly didn't expect to find statues and figurines of the Winnie the Pooh characters placed in an important spot normally reserved for the more expensive items. Yup, they were on a shelf right behind the counter where everyone can definitely see them. I'm not saying the stock here is bad, just that it doesn't seem that elegant to me. The store is clean, the stock is well spaced and presented in nice categories. The staff work hard and are mostly amongst the aisles dusting or cleaning. There is always someone behind the counter however. The service is good too - staff are happy to answer questions and will do their best to help you out. I'm only giving two stars for this one because when it comes to gift shops this isn't one I would typically race towards. Well, unless I was looking for a gift for my grandmother, or non-existant child. There are gifts for people who are really young and really old, but none for the 'inbetweeners' such as myself.

Any stationary store will have me smiling, however kikki. K set the bar with their diverse range and stylish designs. The Doncaster version of this Swedish owned stationary heaven is spacious and light-filled and located on a corner on the upper level. The staff here are friendly and give you room to explore the store which is refreshing! The travel, menu and wedding planners are life organizationally fantastic, there are simply designed cards for almost any occasion, pens and pencils to write in your new notepads, diary or desk planner, shopping bags, folders, laptop cases, all well made and simply designed as Swedish style tends to be. Kikki. K is not the store for budget stationary, although it is good value, but after Christmas the stationary becomes a budget option due to boxing day sales! So I, along with most of Melbourne will be in the fray stocking up on a years worth of stationary goodies!
