The thing I like most about this store is the feel you get when you walk inside. It's not like other retail shoe stores, or even worse, large stores with shoe departments. It feels very comfortable. The main floor is mostly dedicated to athletic shoes and a nice wide stairway leads you downstairs to the casual shoes, hiking, and work boots.
Someone always greets you at the door and asks if you need some help. Then they let you shop in peace. The staff are very friendly and they know the products well. They are always nearby to help with a question or to try on a pair, but you never feel like they are hovering or trying to push you toward something more expensive. I bought a pair of shoes a few days ago even though the salesperson unknowingly gave me a gut punch when they said "my dad loves these".
