Bottom line: literally stole our money. (more below) *** This is a tough place for me to review because we liked some things a lot, yet it's flaws outweighed these. We ate breakfast here a couple of months ago (maybe April). Food was good. Server was very nice. Prices are high, relatively speaking (we eat breakfast out a lot and seek out good places everywhere we travel. Places similar to - and better than - this place are priced a bit lower.) Tea was especially pricey. It's great that it's not served in plastic-lined containers, but the metal ones they use have no insulation so the heat dissipated quickly. In a drafty place like this, it cools even quicker. And since they don't put the tea bag in the pot before adding water, the water is not hot when it gets to the table. Random servers regularly asked if we wanted coffee refills and, although we told them we're drinking tea, none of them ever offered to get us more. (Clear sign of bad management) I had BYOE, which the menu doesn't describe. Turns out it stands for "build your own omelette". (I didn't guess this since the menu never mentions eggs. Most menus say how many eggs are in their omelettes.) They don't list possible fillings and the server didn't know what they all were, so I had to guess. What I had (I think it was with sausage, cheddar, and spinach) was very tasty, but they charge the same price for spinach as they do for sausage and that's not fair to customers. Can't remember what my wife had, but she liked it well enough. When we got the bill, their "computer system" overcharged us for tea (charged us 25 cents more than the price in the menu). This is where our server went downhill - she tried to tell us it was tax. Another server or maybe a manager was insistent that it was not an error. Finally the apparent senior person (manager or owner?) acknowledged the error, yet not once did she offer to give us the money back. While it was only 25 cents, it says a lot about her integrity that she chose to keep it (after all, if it's only 25 cents, why would she care about keeping it?). Makes one wonder how many other customers they stole from and how many other items they are "mistakenly" overcharging for. 25 cents here and there adds up fast. Between them stealing our money and the clear overcharge on veggie ingredients in omelettes, I can't ever recommend this place. And that's too bad because we were happy to find a new funky breakfast place in the area. read more

Let me 1st start by saying when this place 1st open it was the best service I've had very nice workers. Today was another story went for lunch ordered our food at 1215 and at 1245 asked where's the food " ordered the today's special" then the waiter Tony told me because I ordered a burger it takes longer since when did it take 30 mins to make a burger and the steak omelet had literally 3 pieces of steak. Than Asked to speak the woman owner Tony went to her and she couldnt get off her chair so she sent over a another man and I explained the situation to him and he had no answer just an attitude and to add to the fact I asked with no mushrooms on my burger and mushrooms where there and the man said well it happens no respect for the customers here very disappointed in this place read more

Over easy puts the bird in word!! This place is EASILY 5 stars. But not just for a random reason. First off, it was a little but too small, but it looked very nice. Me and my daughter wanted to try this place but it was always so crowded. We finally found the right time to go, and had a great experience. First off, the waiters and waitresses are very nice, and the food service was very quick and fresh. I definitely recommend coming with your family. It seems very family oriented place. Me and my daughter got Nutella pancakes, and they were big so we split them. We also got a side of crispy bacon and toast. It was probably the most delicious breakfast I ever had, and my favorite part was the Nutella pancakes. Not only that, but it was topped with delicious strawberries, and me and my daughter dipped it in the Nutella. My second favorite was the bacon, because me and my daughter love crispy bacon. It was very good. And just because the toast is last, doesn't mean it wasn't good. The toast could have been better, but I still recommend getting it. They have terrible service and are not honest with their customers. My parents went their for breakfast on Wends 9/14/2016 and experienced such horrible service. First they waited 30 min for their food until they finally asked what's going on. They said it's coming soon, then waited another 15 min. After asking a second time they were told the waiter forgot to put in their order. When the food finally came my mom's pancakes were raw and not cooked. The Bottom Line: Nice Food, Good Motivated Staff, Quick Service, Loud environment, tables close together, limited ketchup. The Good: We thought the place overall was very nice... the food was very well made, service was friendly and quick, When I was looking around for a waiter, the Hostess noticed I needed something and came over to ask what I needed. Nice keeping attuned to customer needs... Hostess "Lynn" was very personable and nicely handle our complaint. Gave us a nice crumb cake to share after lunch to "compensate" for our experience. The food came out quickly and was plated well and was appealing. The restaurant was nicely decorated and seemed the person who did the design had great attention to artistic detail. We liked the brown paper sign towards the back of the restaurant... nice touch. We were very bothered by the noise in the place... and the hostess turned off the background music when we spoke to her about it which helped to reduce the noise in the place... but was still uncomfortable loud. However, I think she did as much as she could given her limitations of what could be done for us and was very nice about the issue. The Bad: More to the above point, It seems the place was designed with out much concern to sound absorption. Design is made with materials that don't seem to absorb sound and consequently voices are reflected and it is VERY LOUD in the restaurant. To the point it is just difficult to have any meaningful conversation without shouting. The restaurant would benefit from acoustic tiles in the ceiling and absorption materials strategically placed on the walls. Another issue is the tables seem to be very closely placed. A few more inches between tables may make a world of difference in comfort level. The third issue I had was multiple waiters kept reaching out and would pat my back once when talking to me... I'm sure it was meant as a friendly gesture of trying to be warm... but it did not work for me and made me very uncomfortable. One last point, ketchup.... is there some shortage? I had to ask when the food came out for some and a small dollop came out in a small metal cup - I then had to look around again for a waiter and Lynn noticed I needed something and had to ask her for some again and two small dollop cups came out... Guess I'm abnormal in my ketchup needs to put it on fries and a Ruben. Overall, we like the place, liked the food and may return during non-busy times when the hostess suggested it is not quite as loud. It could benefit from an acoustical review - however, we note that it recently opened and I'm sure they are working out the kinks and making changes when presented with issues. First off this restaurant is really clean which is always a plus. Came in today and they happened to be celebrating their one year anniversary. The place was decorated with balloons and we were given celebratory cookies which was very thoughtful. Our waitress was quick and helpful, and the food came out at a reasonable time. I also appreciated the fact that there is no door to their kitchen. As someone whose worked in the restaurant industry before, it was nice to have transparency in regards how my food is prepared as I've been witness to some unhygienic practices in the past. If they did something to soften the sound it would easily get five stars from me. One of the best spots in Marlboro for a nice sit-down brunch. The food is reasonably priced and the service is attentive. It is byob if you would like mimosas and such. The actual events were: 1) My husband told the waitress who appeared embarrassed. 2) She told another women who did nothing. 3) I approached both of them with the menu. It was at this point, someone should have handed me the fifty cents plus tax (a quarter per cup of tea) and an apology. I was basically told I was wrong. 4) I then went back to my table, told my husband and we proceeded to get our coats on. 5) Then, I saw that women go to you. 6) I came up to you and told you what my experience was. YOU NEVER GAVE ME BACK MY OWN MONEY. 7) I walked out the door with you STILL having MY money and you STILL have it. Offering a gift card is not fixing the problem. Giving me my money is. OR comping my tea is.Keeping the money IS NOT by any means fixing the problem. Learn what this means if you plan to run a restaurant. Instead of conducting "research", go to other restaurants and see how many places charge anywhere near $2.75 for tea. And don't assume I'm talking about Dunkin Donuts as you assumed I did when we spoke. I don't frequent that establishment. They serve crap tea in Styrofoam. There is no excuse. I love this place for breakfast. It's a nice change to all the bagel spots in the area. Their menu is fresh and delicious. You'll find things like avocado toast, free range eggs, gluten free pancakes, and maple syrup--much healthier options than you'd find at your typical diner. I had scrambled eggs with a side of bacon. My husband had their bacon, egg, and cheese on a brioche bun. And my daughter had their belgian waffles with blueberries. Everything was delicious and the service was pretty quick and with a smile. Came in today with my husband. Although my food was pretty good, his wasn't really all that great. I got the Italiano panini with the tomato soup. My husband got the over easy eggs with sausage. He asked for the eggs over medium - they came out over easy and runny. The potatoes were very starchy, not all that great. And the sausage patty tasted like something you'd get in a school cafeteria. Eggs, potatoes & sausage is probably the simplest breakfast food to make, so we were surprised it came out so mediocre. On top of that, our server Nicole was not the friendliest. Didn't smile and was pretty monotoned with the two tables next to us as well. Aside from our unfriendly server & my husband's eggs, the place is pretty good. I wanted to like this place so much. It is cute and convenient and the type of food I like. Sadly, the service was so disappointing that I had to subtract two stars. I asked the waitress about whether I could substitute a pancake for potatoes and toast, to which she said yes and pointed out which entrees came with them. My sister and I were confused when she later said they did not do this, since we both heard it. Ok, no problem, I can understand a little miscommunication. I ultimately ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes with eggs. I was 100% clear when I asked for everything sweet on the side because my father is diabetic and wouldn't be able to have any. When they arrived, the berries, whipped cream and fruit compote were on the side but they were covered in powdered sugar! She offered to have them remade but we did not have the time, which I told her. Nothing else was said or done, no offer to take anything off the bill or to have them remade on our next visit. I guess this server didn't care if there was going to be a next visit. It is probably unfair to judge the restaurant on the basis of one employee but if you have a medical need for them to get your order right, that could be a problem. read more

I've been here twice, served by the same waitress each time. I don't know her name because she's failed to introduce herself both times. She's also been rude and unfriendly both times I've dined here...no check-ins about how the food is, no water refills, no "can I get you anything else?", a very short and curt ask for our drinks and our orders up top. Now I usually NEVER complain about service from the wait staff, I know they have a hard job, but this has happened to me twice now. And what's more, she was waiting on the folks next to us too and there was a very, very noticeable difference her behavior towards them. She was polite, asked them how they were, refilled their drinks...no such service for us. Not to mention, our food was taking unusually long to arrive and I understand it's crowded and busy, so we just decided it wasn't a big deal and waited patiently...that is until the table next to us got their food before us despite having been seated and ordering long after us. I understand that things can take a while but this is unusual, especially considering we weren't ordering anything too different than them. But we had been waiting for about an hour at that point, if not more - and with absolutely no updates from our waitress about the status of our order. After the hour mark had passed, we flagged her down and kindly asked her to check on our food. But instead of giving us a polite response, she gave us a nasty look and said in a very condescending tone "it's in the kitchen," or something to that effect. Not to mention, she did this while standing halfway across the room without bothering to walk over to our table when we tried to get her attention. We were offered free mimosas for the long wait which was very kind of the restaurant. It's not the wait I care about though - it's a busy place on Sunday afternoon, I get it. I care about the dismissive and rude attitude of the staff members, or at least this one in particular. It's a shame because the food is great here but honestly she's been my waitress twice now and I will say that she is the sole reason I will not be returning here for a long time. I ordered a BYOO (build your own omelette) this morning and was so pleased I had to write a review. First off - the food was just delicious. I consider myself a food connoisseur, and this was hands down the best omelette I have had to date. Eggs, Chicken, Onions, Tomato, Cheddar, and sliced avocado on top...amazing. The side salad was great as well. On top of the great food, the owner, Trifon (Tim), is about as a good as a guy as you are going to find. The place is beautiful inside. We are in the Marlboro area on Sundays for 2 hours while our kids are at winter training and we wanted a good place to eat. Over Easy was the first highly rated restaurant to pop up on Yelp. Their coffee and food are so fresh and well made. There are a lot of selections for breakfast but just enough of them so you feel overwhelmed when trying to make a selection. The owner and his staff have great personalities and make you feel very welcome. We love eating here. read more
