When I was a Winnipeg resident, I was a mall person. I had two favourite malls in this city: Polo…read morePark and St Vital Centre. I am more of a outlet mall shopper these days. However, returning to this city on vacation as a sentimental ex-Winnipegger, I hung out at this mall for seven hours. The mall person returned. It's still in me. I hadn't been to this mall since 2016, so it was worth the visit. It's a decent mall. It's a medium-sized one in that there's only one floor. Hudson's Bay (it has a Zellers!), London Drugs, Walmart, and Dollarama are your anchor stores. In 2016, I spent a lot of time and did a lot of damage at London Drugs. On this visit to the mall, I didn't visit any of these stores. I wanted to check out the other stores that I had missed. SilverCity, Hudson's Bay, Purdy's Chocolates, and Indigo were stores that I recognized. They have endured the test of time. I like them a lot. Everything else was new. I could picture the old HMV and Branigan's restaurant when you first enter mall entrance 3 and hit the food court. They are gone. The food court is still excellent. I had a late lunch at Koya Japan and my meal was excellent. I visited a bunch of stores that I had never been to at this mall. Miniso. SoftMoc. Sephora. Claire's. They are all cool stores that I enjoyed visiting and making some purchases. There is a lot of parking at this mall. It may get nuts during Boxing Day or week or month. I have never had any issues parking at this mall. This mall has an Earl's restaurant. I last dined there in 2016 and loved it. There's also Sushi Gozen by London Drugs that I'd like to try someday. I recently met up with a couple of friends here. We caught up over some Timmy's drinks and snacks. It was nice and a memorable, happy experience. It's a decent mall. Tip: Mall entrance 5 is the closest one to the store…read more I was recently at Winnipeg Outlet Collection. It was my first time parked in front of mall entrance 5, which gets you to the food court. I wasn't here to eat, as I had just had lunch. Rather, I wanted to check out the Gap Factory Store, which is next door to the food court. Nearby was this Roots store. I saw a 30% sale sign, so I had to check it out. I liked seeing the classic Roots logo on t-shirts and more. It's how I was first introduced to this brand. I liked various t-shirts, canvas bags, drinkware, and caps that I saw. Sadly, none of them were truly on sale. The beaver plushies were discounted. I got a couple of them a few months back that I didn't feel the need to add to my collection. I liked the lightweight sling bags and fanny packs. They would be perfect for travel or simply running errands. I enjoyed browsing around. The sale wasn't spectacular, but I was pleased seeing beaver plushies on sale. (292)

In Winnipeg, it was this location on Pembina Highway, near the University of Manitoba. It's in a plaza that I used to frequent eons ago. It was nice to head back here a few times during my stay. There is plenty of parking in front of this store. I always found a spot steps away from the main entrance. This store carried the light line of Kipling bags. I saw a nice backpack. The downside to this light line is that it doesn't make certain pockets padded for your laptop. I still like my Kipling backpack with padding. It's still lightweight. This store also had Kipling handbags. They were nice, but were too small for my needs. The PopSockets section was great. I ended up getting a ramen one, which I am currently using. I also got a clear MagSafe one, which is cool changing things up. I managed to get a couple of small Squishmallows at great prices here. I got a frog and a beaver. I am looking at them right now. Adorable! Last summer, I got a tongue cleaner at a Winners in Ottawa. This store in Winnipeg had stainless steel ones. They don't compare to the copper ones that I bought in Ottawa for both my dad and me. Copper is great. The plastic ones also do the trick to keep your tongue clean. I find that the stainless steel ones don't do as great of a cleaning job. There's my review on tongue cleaners from Winners. Bonus content. Enjoy! I saw some cute mushroom lamps. It would have been nice to have brought back one, but it wasn't lightweight. The kitchen accessories were cool to look at. I loved everything from training chopsticks, to pineapple-shaped ice buckets. The shoe section was decent. I liked seeing a bunch of size 11 footwear for women. The Crocs with fuzzy lining looked hideous. I bet that they felt great wearing them! Staff at the checkout were super nice and helpful. I never had any issues having my TJX Canada STYLE+ barcode scanned from my phone. I paid with either a debit or credit card. All went well. It was nice shopping here a handful of times. If you're in a hurry, you aren't going to find what you're looking for. Check back often because items are always changing. Make sure to try things on. There are so many different brands here that everything will fit in a different way. Its a great place to find designer items like Michael Kors and Calvin Klein at discount prices. Also a great place to find one-of-a-kind pieces as well. Winners isn't only about clothes, either. They have accessories, shoes and great home decor. I've purchased many picture frames, blankets and pillows for my apartment decor at great prices.

Like Old Navy, its sister store at this outlet mall, this GAP had articles of clothing that I liked. There were a lot of cargo pants. Fleece cargos seemed to be popular and on sale. If you in need of a t-shirt or several, this store had many on clearance. I have a mini fruit t-shirt collection happening. I picked up a t-shirt with mini strawberries on it. It would be perfect with my recently acquired watermelon t-shirt from Old Navy, and my cherries one at home. I didn't bother going into a fitting room that was fairly busy on a Monday afternoon. I tried it over what I was wearing. It fit nicely. It was mine for $8.99, with another 40% discount on top of it. I saw a Squishmallows graphic t-shirt for kids. Why can't they make one in adult sizes? I'd totally buy and wear it proudly as a Squishmallows fan. I headed to the checkout area. There was a bit of a lineup. i got the friendliest man who helped me with my purchase. I entered my phone number associated with my GAP rewards. I let my discount accumulate some more. I paid with a debit card. Done! He asked me if I needed a bag. I was good stuffing it in my Old Navy bag. It allowed my fruit t-shirts to mingle. I thanked him and happily left with my purchase. I enjoyed dropping by this store. I got a good deal on a t-shirt. I'd come back to visit this store again the next time I'm at this outlet mall. (293)

It occupies the former Sears store's bedding and bed department. It was my first time visiting a Uniqlo store that wasn't in the greater Toronto area. I will say that I liked the local designers who created a Winnie the Pooh and Piglet t-shirt, to honour this city, and a hockey t-shirt. I wanted to get these t-shirts. The price point made me think twice about it. As much as I want to support local, paying $40 a t-shirt felt like a lot of money to shell out. I only own a t-shirt, underwear, and a lightweight puffy coat from Uniqlo. I am a fairly new customer. I do love what I own. The pieces are comfortable. I also bought these pieces when they were on sale and I had a coupon through signing up for the company's mailing list. I liked the moon-shaped crossbody bags. They look comfortable, lightweight, and practical. I saw a pair of lightweight denim shorts that looked comfortable. I will see if they ever go on sale. The same goes with their linen pants and tops. It was nice perusing this store. It was great seeing the space that Sears once occupied has this Uniqlo doing steady business here. (284)

GT will always have a soft spot in my heart, especially when I visit one in Winnipeg. My introduction to this franchise occurred when Winnipeg got its first store on Donald Street, at Ellice Avenue, when I lived in the city. It's still there! It was raining. I decided to hop in my rental vehicle and find a closer parking spot to the store. I didn't have an umbrella. I found a spot steps away and dashed into the store. It was Canada Day. I saw a lot of festive merchandise, from water bottles, to tank tops. I was sporting a Canada cap. It kept my head dry. I liked the clearance section. This store had a lot of great deals. With a brisk wind on the coolest day during my vacation, I needed something to keep me warm while taking in the Canada Day celebrations later on in the evening. I found a lightweight long-sleeved top with a floral pattern for $5. It was roomy to wear on top of my t-shirt and the sleeves were the perfect length. Such a steal! I was happy. I liked the bucket hats at this store. I was content with my cap that I didn't get one. The grocery section was great. I loved looking at bagged apples and lemons, and a variety of baked goods. I went to the beverages section. A six-pack of bottled Coke zero was on sale. Sold! This store had gigantic Squishmallows. They were cute, but one would fit my entire luggage if I didn't compress it down. At the checkout, I got Lawrence. He was competent and efficient. He asked me if I needed a bag. I declined and said that I was good. I paid with a credit card. My items were just over $10. Insane! I wore my long-sleeved top when I was taking in the Canada Day celebrations from roughly 6 pm till 9 pm in an open stadium. It kept me warm and it was comfy to wear. I liked shopping at this store. The flagship store is at Canada Life Centre where the Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose play hockey. It's convenient to grab a commemorative item or get a jersey while at this arena. The downside is that if there isn't a game on a Saturday or Sunday, this location is closed on weekends. I was at St Vital Centre and found Jets Gear's second location. It's a few stores away from London Drugs. The hours are much better. It's open when the mall is open, which is seven days a week, with some holiday exceptions. It was cool dropping by. I still don't own a Jets jersey, but it was nice seeing the variety here. I do have Manitoba Moose hoodies and Jets t-shirts. I wanted something different and perused this store. I liked seieng Perfetti's game-winning goal on t-shirts clearly indicatingin that there was 1.6 seconds left in the third period. There were two different styles in white, which is perfect for whiteout conditions when attending a Jets game. I was thrilled to see Teemu Selanne as a bobblehead. He is my favourite hockey player. This bobblehead represented his 76-goal rookie year in the NHL. I ended up getting a Jets whiteout hockey puck. I have never seen one in white. It was a limited edition. I started off as being the only customer in the store. By the time I approached the payment area, there were a bunch of shoppers browsing. Interesting! The man at the counter was cheerful. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I put the puck in my shopping bag. I thanked him and happily left the store. I love this whiteout puck. I have a handful of pucks. This one stands out because it's my only white puck in my collection. I love it. I'm glad that I dropped by this store. I had no problem finding a parking spot steps away from the store. I backed into a spot near a picnic bench. I assume that staff and customers alike can take a load off there if they want to. I walked in. Apples and pears greeted me. This store had the best selection of graphic t-shirts for women. Snoopy. Fanta. Care Bears. They were all at decent prices, with some on sale. I ended up getting a pink t-shirt with Nashville on the front. I liked the guitar design. I have also been there. I liked the grocery section. What stood out was the variety of noodles. I saw udon and ramen packages that you'd typically find at an Asian supermarket. I was impressed. The produce section looked great. I didn't need any fruits or veggies. If I did, I'd be happy shopping here. This store had a decent selection of plushies, including Squishmallows. I had willpower and did not buy the entire section. Just before I was heading to the checkout, I noticed a number of City seltzer cans. A portion of the proceeds from these seltzer sales supported Food Banks Canada. I was game to buy a couple of cans. I got the tiger tail (orange, vanilla, and anise) and berry whip (boysenberry, blackcurrant, and vanilla). I paid at one of the self-checkout kiosks with a credit card. I also entered my phone number associated with my VIP rewards. Done! I grabbed my items and headed to my car. I was out for a few more hours before I headed back to where I was staying to shove the seltzer cans in the fridge. I loved both seltzers. The flavours worked so well. The tiger tail was like an orange creamsicle with a hint of anise to make things different. I am always a fan of boysenberry and blackcurrant. The addition of vanilla made this drink perfect. I haven't seen this seltzer brand at my usual Giant Tiger in Etobicoke. I don't know if it was a Winnipeg thing or if the entire line is now sold out. I liked dropping by this location in Southdale.
