Came in on father's day and it was packed. Ended up sitting at the bar. I was worried about the bartender because she was quiet and took my whole family's order without writing anything down but she ended up killing it. The drinks were good and the other bartender was really nice and attentive too. I came here to write about the burger I had. I got a bacon cheeseburger with aussie fries. I'm not sure if i'm allowed to curse on here so it will be very difficult to express my feelings about this burger without using any F bombs so please add them in wherever you see fit as you read this. I will do what i can without them. This was one of the top 10 burgers I've ever had in my life. believe me when I say I have had a lot of burgers in 26 years and I also have very high standards so i'm not messing around. It was cooked perfectly. There was the perfect amount of cheese and other fixins. The bun was soft but toasted perfectly on the outside and the bacon didn't have any fat and was also perfectly cooked. I'm real picky about my meat and usually have to slice off the fat like a skilled surgeon and I did not even have to pick up my knife! I'm very glad I was with my family and not in the company of any handsome bachelors because there was no other way to eat that thing but shoveling into my face like an animal. If anyone happen to take interest in me would have definitely turned the other way if they saw me inhaling that burger and I'm not even mad about it. It was in the top 10 burgers I've had and probably also the top 10 most unladylike moments of my life and I can honestly say it was worth it. I would have probably chosen that burger over any single male in the restaurant. The thing is, I have ordered the exact same thing there before and it was good but not like whatever that was. So if they hired a new cook I believe it would be in the company's best interest to give them a raise and if it were up to me promote him to CEO. The waitress and hostesses were really nice. They told us it would be a twenty minute wait for a party of 5 but got us seated in ten minutes. The waitress was bubbly and sweet and patient with our kids who are learning to ask for their own orders. The steak was good but slightly over-salted. My husband dropped his tea and it spilled all over. We were in a high traffic area and I had to kind of jump out of my seat to avoid getting wet. I was surprised at the number of other servers that passed by while were trying to soak up the mess with our cloth napkins and no one bothered to help. Once our server saw it she was gracious and quick to assist but I was still kind of annoyed with the others that simply walked on without so much as handing us a stack of napkins. This location is not very accommodating to children with disabilities. I ask for a booth seat so my son can be seated in the corner, I sat and watched four booth seats became available and was told they are for someone else. At the time I asked the waitress she gave me attitude, came back and told me if I really need a different seating I will have to go back and wait to be seated again, while four booth seats are empty. Next they proceeded to seat three people in one of the booth seats while I had a family of four sitting at a little open table with an autistic child. Not coming back there! read more

Outback is a night out diversion in which the food plays a significant, but not exclusive role. Frankly, if the food were separated from the loud, fun atmosphere, this mega-chain would have boarded-up years ago. I'm not saying that Outback food is bad, although it isn't quite up to the quality standards suggested by their prices. Steaks are choice grade and wet aged, no different that what anybody with a grill or range can buy at a decent supermarket. It is only the addition of an enthusiastic waiter/waitress and dining room atmosphere which makes the steak "sizzle." The iconic bloomin' onion should have been abandoned years ago; it's a perfectly good onion turned into a flavorless grease ball. Another key peeve is Outback's practice of brine soaking their baking potatoes; if I want salt on my potato, I know how to work a shaker. Desserts are okay, nothing great. read more

I ordered curbside pick up, the spots elected for curbside we're utilized by a vehicle using it as a parking space. I now stopped close to the curbside awaiting someone to come out but they did not. I parked at the other end of the parking lot to now go in and pick up my food. I let the employee know that there is someone parked in the spot, she seemed not concerned . I then ask if one of the lined up bags were mine since nothing was being given. I took my food which was an expensive order home to find my loaded potato to be an uncut potato with nothing on it or included . I called the manager who did not seem concerned by the lack of customer service nor that the curbside spots were being used as parking spots. Curbside is a good idea for the customer when the service is actually done right. read more

Great food and great service. Order the no rules pasta. Its excellent! Love the Victoria Filet. I see a lot of complaints about the salted baked potato. I happen to enjoy it that way. Great burgers as well. My steak is always cooked perfectly. I cant complain, this is a good place to meet up with friends and have a beer and steak. Very unhappy I've been coming here a longtime and this may be it for us, the order was incorrect and then came to us it looked uncooked and crab cakes looked as if they forgot the crab and just put filler. Whenever I go to outback everything is perfect and I love the food. I usually get a steak and it never comes cooked properly. It is either raw or cooked as hard as a hockey puck. One time I was there and waited two hours to get my steak after it was sent back three times. We stayed at the restaurant until it closed because it took so long. I really wasn't all that impressed with the service I got at Outback when my fiancee and I went on a double date. The server took a long time to get to us throughout the whole night. Also, to be some one who worked there for three years he wasn't able to answer any of the questions we had about certain items on the menu. Food wise, you know what you are getting at an Outback but I want to talk about the service. These guys were on point. From soup to nuts they did everything right. Travis was our server and he was attentive, funny, friendly and fast. Tony the manager made sure our dinner was to our liking abd took that extra step in earning our return business. I just placed an order at this location using the IPhone app and it worked flawlessly. I just placed the order, placed a pickup time, pulled into the curbside parking spot and the Outback employee came out to confirm order and pick up payment. My husband and I went to Outback in Springfield, NJ yesterday at 3:00pm. Our waitstaff was Sylvester B. He was rude through the entire meal and even gave us burnt bread; but we let it go. I am a Dine Reward member and gave my #, which he did not give me my points toward a reward. I questioned the Manager and then Sylvester came back to our table and very nasty said "Sweetheart", well I am 65 and no one calls me sweetheart except my husband. It was very distrubing and meant to be mean. We got home and HE had deleted my other rewards, one from Carrabbas and one from Bonefish Grill. I called and spoke to Dan the Manager and he said he would put them back on. As of today , they are not back on, I am going today to speak with Duff, today's manager and if this is not taken care of, I am going to the Springfield Police. This restaurant STOLE my rewards. NEVER GO TO OUTBACK, THEY NEVER GIVE YOU YOUR REWARD POINTS AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ANY OUTBACK EVER AGAIN. Pleasant experience, welcomed by a very nice gentleman host. Seated very quickly, our server Alicia was very sweet, my husband's steak wasnt cooked properly but we didnt want to complain because let's face it you hear horror stories of what happens when food is sent back. Alicia noticed the steak was not cooked properly and asked if he would like another one but my husband declined and said he would just take it and heat it up home. Alicia then went an extra step to get the manager Charlene who came and took my husband's steak and had it cooked properly. The fact that both Alicia and Charlene went above and beyond to make sure his meal was cooked properly says a lot to the level of customer service and professionalism of this establishment! The bread used to be amazing - but this place and longhorn's bread has gotten smaller and less amazing as time goes on. The food is amazing. The stuffed potato is a heart attack waiting to happen, but is irresistable. I felt physical anguish last time i ate here, though and I haven't gone back since. The food is excellent in taste and quality, but it instantly made me feel over-full and bad, even though all i had was a potato and seared tuna. The potatoes also get shipped to them loaded with salt on the outside, so they cant serve them without the outer crust of salt. I felt fine previously, though, so the place is definately good for what it is - only a few fish options for pescatarians, and the fish of the day is rarely anything but tilapia (bleh) Even if you can control your eating habits, you're just asking for trouble with the 'healthy' options because they may not be all that healthy. read more

First time at this location last night and I will not be returning, though I have been a fan of Outback's food for years... Server was Juan C. A woman came to deliver our food, though. She extended the plate towards me about halfway across the table, but did not mention that the plate was extremely hot. I reached for it and then realized how hot it was, but by then she had essentially let go of it and if I dropped it, it was going to end up all over the table. (I say this as someone who was a waitress for years, and I still have the calluses to prove it. This wasn't just "sitting under the heat lamp" hot, this was scalding hot, like it had come from the oven.) I put the plate down as quickly as I could while she said, "Oh yeah, be careful, that's hot." I told her she could have mentioned that before offering the plate to me. She then walked away. Juan returned and saw the pained look on my face, and he asked if it was because I was disappointed in the steak (which was wayyy overdone, BTW). I explained what had just happened as the welts were starting to appear on my hand and fingers. He asked who served us so he could "go yell at them". He left and returned with a packet of burn gel from the kitchen and assured me the manager would be over to check in on me. And that was it. Manager never showed, and it wasn't mentioned again. Saw a number of staff members goofing off and generally acting unprofessionally, so the customer experience doesn't seem to be on their radar. I went to Outback in Springfield today with my wife and two sons for a combo celebration for Fathers Day and my youngest's birthday (1 year old). My two year old wasn't having his best day and we were constantly trying to console him and brought him out of the restaurant on two different occasions to settle him down. Following a third outburst, another patron decided to publically confront us and say that we should leave or get our child under control. He even went as far as to say we should apologize to everyone in the dining room because of our two year olds behavior. Clearly, this guy never had kids. After a heated back and forth (and serious restraint to not knock out this guy's teeth), we decided to eat outside for a reset. The entire staff (and several other patrons) was overly accommodating in helping turn a bad situation around. Everyone helped us move our stuff. One of the waitresses gave my two year old lollipops (and he was happy after that). Numerous employees (and diners) came over to console us throughout our outdoor experience when they didn't need to (they wanted to). Then, the proprietor came out and apologized (which he definitely did not need to do) and took care of the bill for us. This was WAY above and beyond what was expected, especially considering it was not Outback or their employee's fault for our experience. This went a long way to show me the integrity of the work staff and leadership at this location. Thank you for turning a difficult situation into a positive lunch. I went here on memorial day with my fiance. Our server showed up 10 mins after we were seated. It looked like it was her first day on the job. She took our drink orders and food orders all together because we were hungry because we just came back from the beach. The food came out promptly. The coconut shrimp was tasty. The entrees were ehh. Nothing special. The mash potatoes were amazing!! I could have had a plate full of mashed potatoes and I would be a happy camper. I probably won't be back anytime soon. Maybe later on the year. I had beef here and the famous "Blooming Onion"......first the onion,....dried out, not freshly made at all,....very sloppily prepared, and I have had the onion many times,....The prime rib was very difficult to cut thru and colder than lukewarm.....terrible kitchen !!... I have eaten many many times at different Outback locations and KNOW a terrible kitchen....the management was welcoming and professional.....with restaurants, they cannot succeed with a careless kitchen, but I understand management is under constraints because a qualified, good kitchen staff is hard to come by......... read more

After a week of dining out in places like Costata, Jean-Georges, and Le Bernardin, why would I go to an Outback Steakhouse?! Well, because that's where my niece wanted to go after coming home from college. And I love my niece and wanted to see her before she left for the west coast to start her summer internship so Outback it was. Our dinner turned out better than I expected, for a chain restaurant. This branch in Springfield was pretty popular for families. Food and service were ok. Everyone ordered steak which they enjoyed while I ordered what I thought was something lighter - the tilapia topped with lump crab meat which was pretty bland. Usually have a pretty crappy experience where the restaurant forgets something so this time I double checked to make sure everything was correct, which it was for once. Everything was ice cold though which makes no sense since I was waiting in the car for 20 mins. The 25 minute wait they said on the phone was an hour. Would have thought my food would have been warm or hot. Secondly, we got two orders of filet medallions...however we were provided with some mystery meat on skewers that were all fatty and tough...absolutely NOT filet. Gave it to my dog and even he couldn't chew the meat. Really awful experience and will never return. Wish I didn't spend $70 on the dinner here for my family. We used to love this Outback. It was our go-to place, but has since been removed from that list. When I say it was our go-to place, we used to head there twice a week or so. It's truly gone down hill and I wonder if that is because it feels it has no local competition. Whatever the reason, it doesn't matter, we're willing to drive to have a good steak/meal. The temperature of this restaurant is hit or miss - there have been meals where we have never taken our coats off. That is truly ridiculous - when you look around, you see everyone sitting in coats - and yet, no one working there does anything about this - are they not paying any attention to their customers? Even when we ask them to turn the heat on, it takes forever for the place to warm up enough to think about taking the coats off. The soup of the day is always potato soup. I guess they miss the boat when the definition of soup of the day means that there are different soups on different days. The waiters are embarrassed by this apparently and most don't even mention the soup of the day anymore unless they're asked - and then they share the frustration of it always being potato. Apparently the others are too expensive to produce. The size of the salads has been greatly reduced from what they used to be. Whoever is slicing the tuna appetizer needs a lesson - half the time they're too thick, the other half, they're too thin. There is no consistency with this dish. The new nachos appetizer tasted good, but the value was a complete rip off - there were very little toppings to be found on the nachos. The avocado crab stack comes with so few chips that you're only half way done with the dip and your chips are gone! The service is okay here for the most part. It's a shame though - as it seems they are being very cheap lately. It used to be so much better. read more
