Never been to outback before but was coxed into going there for dinner tonight. I thought steak house, what could go wrong. Well blooming onion was almost burnt, porter house was cooked properly but I'm pretty sure it was a fake porter house. I've gotten better cuts of meat at a small local bar. Over priced food. Not worth it. The three stars are for our awesome server Addy. She was awesome. Her attitude beyond anything expected at a restaurant. Never had a server work harder to make us happy. This used to be my favorite restaurant by far. My husband and I came every other weekend, and all the important dates, like anniversaries etc. then we happened to not come for a month or so, and when we did come back, well. OML I don't know what happened, all I know is we are searching for a new favorite restaurant. There were so many bad things that I don't now where to start. We waited ages to be seated and it wasn't even full, the server was so busy talking to someone she knew that we waited ages for her too, then she was very inattentive, didn't see her after she took the order until it was time for a tip! Came in a little before 7:20pm and was seated promptly. Waited 10 minutes for the waiter to come and get our drink order, so we ordered when he brought us the drinks. So we wait....and wait.....and wait. We requested to see the manager (she was fantastic and prompt), she found out our waiter took our order and didn't submit it. Not once did he come to check on us for 40 minutes. We got a new waitress, Nicki, and she took great care of us. I'm not knocking the entire restaurant as we come here often. Return Visit 6/14/18 When we first arrived, the place was almost empty. There was one employee sitting in a booth who appeared to be doing some paperwork. Our friendly hostess took us to that very same booth and made the employee move. Go figure. This visit was pretty much the same as last time. Our server was Ashley, very friendly and attentive. I ordered the same small sirloin and shrimp. The steak was cooked as ordered, but much less seasoning this time. I got many more fries and veggies this time. Consistency is obviously not one of their goals. We were also offered a second loaf of bread, but it didn't get delivered it until I reminded her to bring it. I hate the sweet/sour sauce that is served with the shrimp. I will probably stop ordering shrimp even though I love shrimp. I usually come here because I have a gift card to use. It is always my hope that I can completely use up the card by including the tip. But that seems to be an impossibility. I was a little worried when I saw the reviews for this location. But we had to go there based on time and location. We arrived and the staff was very friendly. We had a large party of 6 and were able to be seated right away! Waitress was attentive and nice. Food was great and prepared as ordered. My only complaint would be that my meal came a little after everyone else's dinner was delivered. But not a long time after. Maybe 10 minutes. Bill after tip was 110.00. Not Good. First, I would like to say Outback is my go to when I travel, their consistency is usually very good, and managers are usually attentive (over attentive, I worry about getting people in trouble if anything is sent back or there is a problem0. Not so in Maumee location. First, they didn't have enough appetizer plates, and eventually gave us 2 for 3 people but after a long time, and never gave us another one all night even though I asked for another once their dishes had been done. My steak was okay, my boyfriends was cooked incorrectly, which is not okay when it is a $28 dollar filet. He didn't eat one of his sides, and he eat everything, so his asparagus was pretty bad. I got baked potatoes which were hard, undercooked, and inedible. When I asked to send them back for new ones, after about 20 minutes the manager came and explain that ALL the baked potatoes were cooking incorrectly, which make it seem like they KNEW they were wrong when they gave it to me and were hoping I wouldn't complain. He offered me different sides. I am a creature of habit and ONLY get baked potatoes and a steak there, but he said "I'm even OK with you picking premium sides to replace them." Oh, thank you so much, you will waive the dollar up-charge? When I seemed displeased and said I had not gotten anything but baked potatoes in the fifteen years I have gone to Outback he begrudgingly said he would remove the side from the bill and gave me a replacement side to go, since by the time he talked to us everyone had finished their meal, or didn't want to finish what was left on the plate. When we got the bill I read it, and he didn't remove anything from it, so I had to address that with the server when she came back and they finally removed the sides charge since they were inedible. He did not have a great attitude. I never want to go there again. I love Outback and considered them one of the most consistent chains and it keeps me coming there. But this Maumee location is just a wreck. They need a whole new trained kitchen staff, and a more people friendly manager. Very unfortunate. I'd like them to get it together since it is a pit stop city on the way to visit my parents and I used to go there every time, but not any longer unless there are changes. read more

I don't know why I even bothered to try Outback again. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger for lunch. I truly believe this was a cheap, preformed patty. No flavor & firm to the chew. This what Kroger sells at 10/$10. I specifically said no lettuce & they obviously put lettuce on then attempted to scrape it off. Onions are some corporate regulated, watery & flavorless mess. I was so disappointed I tossed it in the garbage after a few bites. Unfortunately, every few years someone talks the family in to trying Outback again and this is consistently our experience. HORRIFYING. If you like filthy tables with dirty dishes on them, dim lighting dark enough to hide the depression of the bartender and want your kids to learn some new curse words.....THIS IS THE SPOT! Ordered to go online and walked from the hotel next door to pick up. Waited at the bar. Could hear a huge fight and several vulgar conversations from the kitchen. Server finally walks out with my order and says "oh....I forgot your broccoli". She walks back to the kitchen and before the door closes behind her she screams "JESUS CHRIST I FORGOT THE F$&KING BROCCOLI!" (I had no idea that Jesus has been working as a cook at Outback Steakhouse in Maumee Ohio. Someone needs to call the media.) My meal was awful, undercooked and I'm considering self induced reversal because I'm worried about food poisoning. How many bad reviews till corporate closes this nightmare? Every time I've come to this particular Outback I've been satisfied up until my last visit. I ordered my steak medium and when it got to the table it was more than well done. The person I came with ordered their steak medium well and it came out about medium, which was pretty decent. Coming to a steakhouse, I expect the steak to be cooked to order, at least. read more

We just ate at this Outback because we are staying at a local hotel on our way to Michigan. The service was good, but the food was all cold. My shrimp on my salad actually felt like it had been refrigerated. It was supposed to be hot off the grill. I asked the server for new shrimp and he took the shrimp back and then returned a minute later with the same shrimp asking if I wanted the cook to reheat it. I am just praying I don't get food poisoning now. My husbands cheeseburger was luke warm and looked worse than a fast food burger in presentation. All the kids fries were room temperature too. This was our first time at Outback in several years and will be our last time ever. $70 later. Eww. read more

Worst we've ever been to. Knew we were in trouble when it took 15 minutes before we were acknowledged by out waiter...... He led with, "this place has a few problems. There is new management and they are still learning. I'll be right back". There were 3 little ones with us, 5,5 and 2.....and they were hungry. We arrived at 5:00 so it wasn't to busy. The kids coloring menu is always a hit...unfortunately they'd run out of crayons, are you kidding me. After what seemed an eternity our drinks were served and we promptly ordered food for the children, waiter leaves promising to be right back to get the others choices. Walked past out table three more times, "I'll be right back". Finally all orders were taken. My grandson, son and I all ordered the large ribeye. sides were broccoli and mashed potatoes. Dinners were served. My son had ordered the mashed. His meal arrived minus the potatoes. Someone had forgotten to turn on the steamer..... Never again...... My family had planned a special day for us together. We're from northern Indiana. UofM fans. Drove to Ann Arbor for the spring game. My son surprised me by setting up dinner with my Ohio grandson. Thankful the atrocious dining couldn't spoil our time together. We know there is always the chance for something to go wrong and try to always give the benefit of the doubt but.......It was the most awful dining experience ever and it cost us $175.00 plus 18% tip......This location needs to be shut down. I've been to this location two or three times. The food is not good at all and the service just makes the entire experience even worse. On my most recent trip there with a large party, the waitress would disappear for 10 minutes at a time and they were not even busy. Drink were never full and if you needed something you were just out of luck. Would recommend going somewhere else. read more

The restaurant opens at 11. I was there at 1145. No other customers. No big deal. We were seated. Took about 15 minutes then we said something to the hostess, who just walked around the whole time and put silverware down while we waited. Finally she went in back to get our server. Our waitress apologized stating they were getting things ready for the day. Lousy excuse for the hostess to not tell her. We ordered drinks and our meal. The margarita was weak and not flavorful. But the steak was good. The mashed potatoes were not flavorful either. Not pleased at all. Our waitress was fine but The outback near the mall is much better than this location. I used to work in an Outback Steakhouse (not this one) and I used to enjoy eating there, but I've noticed a decline in service over the years (no matter the location). I ordered the Victoria filet medium, which was warm but not quite off-the-grill fresh. Mashed potatoes were delicious. Caesar salad was pale lettuce drowned in dressing and almost inedible. We went at noon on a Sunday and there were only about 3 other cars in the lot. Very slow, unfriendly, mumbly service--the host and server both seemed to be coming down from a Nyquil bender. Not a good sign when, with a party of TWO, the server instantly forgets which of us ordered the water and the Diet Coke. My mom ordered A-1 and was almost done with her steak by the time she received it. I asked for horseradish but the server forgot to bring it. She did not clear our appetizer dishes when bringing our entrees. read more

Outback Steakhouse is one of those restaurants I go to once every couple years, and that is enough. It is good, nothing is drastically wrong with it, and I generally enjoy myself, but there are better places for the same money. This weekend I came back with my wife after a several year hiatus, and found it to be much as I had left it. The psuedo-Australian menu still had old standards like the Bloomin' Onion® and Kookaburra Wings®. (Yes, that's right, there are a number of items on the menu that are so special, they deserve to be registered®.) There may have been some new offerings, but we stuck with the Bloomin' Onion, which was quite good (as far as deep-fried onions go). The side salads are pretty good here as well; all the ingredients were cold and crisp and tasted fresh. As far as the steaks go, their coasters proudly proclaim that Zagat's named their steaks #1 in the chain restaurant category, so you know they have to be good. ;) We had the sirloin steaks, and the steaks are actually well-seasoned and flavorful, but both my steak and my wife's had bits of inedible fat and gristle. Truth be told, if I'm comparing chain restaurants, I prefer the steaks at Texas Roadhouse where the steaks are perfectly trimmed and I never leave anything on the plate. And that, my friends, is my problem with Outback in a nutshell. It is good, but I like other places better. Taking Texas Roadhouse as an example, I can get a bigger and (in my opinion) better steak for LESS money than at Outback. I enjoy mixing it up and coming back to Outback once in a while, but it isn't in my regular rotation. read more

Our group of 4 went there last night. We all ordered the same thing--6 oz sirloin with a blue cheese pecan chopped salad, and baked potato. Salads arrived, very skimpy portions-mine especially.. The steaks, ordered medium well, were bloody, but the worst was the over- peppered spicing that overwhelmed the whole taste. We all are familiar with Outback, and know what to expect --a definitely seasoned steak, however, this was a pepper overload, and was somewhat painful to eat..we all thought so. When we questioned the waitress, she just said that they changed the spices a couple months ago...funny, I was at another Outback less than a month ago, and their spices were fine...will go to Monroe St next time.. :( read more

In town for a family thing and staying next door. After family event, we were all hungry, so we called around 8:25pm to ask about two tables for our group, a kids table for five beside a table for seven adults. They said it would be no problem. We got there about 9:00pm, and asked about the tables. That is when the went to get them ready. There were only a handful of tables occupied, but lots dirty. Nice atmosphere. Booths a little tight but I prefer a booth. Also free good size sundae for your birthday. Enough to share. Filthy restaurant, tons of garbage on the floor, hostess told us to pick a seat by the bar, every open table, 8 of them, still had dirty plates on them & 2 clean tables were not clean at all. They still had sauce stuck to the table and butter. It was so gross. I wanted to run but my BF was hungry. They sat us in the main dinner room & ordered the sampler appetizer & the bloomin onions were soggy & limp everything was cold & it was just awful tasting. I just couldn't eat it. My BF didn't like philly cheesesteak, it was all spice you couldn't taste the meat. I had the steamed lobster tails and potato which were edible. Our waitress was very nice. I was at this Outback restaurant on Sunday, March 28, 021 around 2:30 pm. Upon arriving, I was told there would be a 5 minute wait. I went to the bar and ordered a house Chardonnay in the 6 ounce size. I was seated within 3 minute. Bread was brought to the table immediately. As the server came to the table, my husband ordered the house Chardonnay, 9 ounce size. The server returned to inform us that they no longer had any Chardonnay, or any other white wine. My husband then ordered the house Cabernet. Again, the server returned and informed him that the house Cabernet was gone, but he could get the next priced Cabernet (9 ounces size for the price of the 6 ounce size). My husband did that. I again asked for a 6 ounce glass of the house Chardonnay. The server said he would check again, but was sure there was none. He returned and said he could get a Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay but it was an additional $4.00. I declined. My husband ordered mushrooms for his steak. After forgetting these when our dinner was served, the server went back to the kitchen to get this forgotten item. Upon placing these on the table, he left. My husband tasted them and found them to be cold. Again we waited for the server to return. He returned the mushrooms to the kitchen and returned with hot mushrooms. The mushrooms were a very generous portion. The experience was less than good. read more

My boyfriend and I are really impressed with the customer service as well as the quality of the meals. I recently orders a take-out on a very rainy day. My order wasn't quite as expected so he called and informed them of our complaint. They were so polite and apologetic. They offered us gift cards and for our meals to be replaced. Upon arrival to pick up our meal the second time we were met at the door and a really nice lady was on her way out to delivery our meals to our home. I thought it was the most considerate and highest of customer service that you could get from anywhere. I will go back again and I recommend anyone to go and take advantage of the great customer service and food. Thanks again for great food and great customer service. YOU GUYS ROCK! read more
