Got a lakeside cabin and was pretty happy. Not the most up to date cabin, but great outlook and plenty of room for a family of 4. Really quiet too, but it wasn't weekend or holidays. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Had a look around and chat to a few others, well catered for young families and grey nomads alike. Great pool and kids facilities. Courtesy bus available from a nearby pub with decent meals that the staff recommended. Didn't disappoint. Overall, great stay.

Anyway, it acts as the terminus for the V-Line from Melbourne, and is also a major stop for the XPT that travels between Sydney and Melbourne. The interesting thing was that apparently they only sell tickets here during set times, but they were open when I arrived, despite the fact that the sign said otherwise. It's a pretty nice station, and has been kept in good order, especially the waiting room. I certainly quite like it.

The hotel is a little long in the the tooth but furnishing is reasonably new and rooms have been painted recently. The Hotel is located opposite the SS&A club so a short walk to reasonably priced food although the Hotel's own restaurant is where we started each day with a fantastic breakfast. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

The staff are super friendly and gave us a really good dinner recommendation at a pub within 5 minutes walk of the hotel. We thought that the shower was terrific (great water pressure), but the bed was slightly too soft for our liking. This is really good value for money!
