The practice of prescribing antibiotics prior to procedures was extremely controversial in light of what we now know concerning gut health and overall health risks. This place has ruined my dental health and I have now spent thousands of dollars in repairing my teeth at another dentist in town. Metal fillings replaced. Cracked teeth needing to be fixed and crowns replaced just to name a few. This dentist ruined the dental health of my ex wife as well through out the 16 years of marriage I witnessed thousands of dollars in dental work that resulted in tooth loss, and dental problems. This is the worst dental practice in the entire area. Avoid at all costs.

Everything was very clean in the exam room. We were sent home with a great goodie bag. And they were very detailed going over the cost breakdown of work that I'll be coming back for. This was one of the most positive experiences I've ever had at a dentist as a new patient. They had even requested records from my previous dentist and had reviewed them before my appointment so that unnecessary imaging didn't have to happen; we just picked up with our dental schedule from where we left off with our previous dentist. I would definitely recommend this office to people looking for a dentist in Wenatchee.

On 3/4/26 I went to see Dr. Nygard for a root-canal. During the procedure, he left the room and I…read morewas assisted by the assistant that was always there and another female in scrubs. During this time I started feeling a painful burning near my nose. Despite all the numbing and gas, I could feeling this burning pain. This was to the point where the assistant asked if I wanted to stop but I was told that it would be on a few seconds more. I told them to continue and they were done in seconds. I told them that I was having extreme burning pain near my nose and had no pain up until now. The pain was continuing as the dentist finished. I thought it was part of the procedure. I left the appointment and on my way home, the burning got worse. I thought it was the pain from the root canal. I had never had one before so I was under the impression that this was the way it was. With in a halfhour of getting home, with ice on my face, I started to develop a back eye. I call the Nygard back and was sent in a script for steroids for the swelling and pain I was told I was having an inflammatory response and its common. I continued to swell and get more brusing. The pain was the worst I have ever felt in my life. I have had a heart attack, multiple surgeries and a vasectomy. This pain was unbearable. I started to shake, vomit and cry. To the point where my wife was so concerned due to cardiac history, she called an ambulance. With in 2 hours of root canal, I was in an ambulance on my way to the emergency room. They gave me iv pain meds, steroids, benadryl and once the pain was tolerable and blood pressure went down they sent me home. The next morning, I sent pics of my face to my dentist Dr. Kevin Johnson. Once his office opened, he called me and asked if I needed any pain meds or steroids. I told him the ER had me taken care of. Later in the afternoon, I stopped by Dr. Johnson's office. The swelling in my face, I have pictures, was bad. Dr. Johnson came out and showed concern for me. He again made sure that I had medications and was doing ok. I asked him if he had ever seen this before. He said, " I have seen it a few times. Did the Nygard reach back out and follow up." I told him no, I haven't heard anything from his office. Dr. Johnson told me that it looks like I got a sodium hydroxide burn. He told me that I could look it up on the internet. Dr Johnson told me that it was Nygard's place to follow up and determine the cause but it looks like a bleach burn. Dr. Johnson told me that it is used as a cleaner and is supposed to stay in the tooth. If it gets in the tissues, it causes severe burning and brusing. Dr. Johnson told me to go down to Dr. Nygards office. I did and the staff was horrified by my face. They immediately got me in and into a room. An assistant was so rattled by my face, she had a hard time taking notes. Dr. Nygard came in and looked at my face and said, "It an inflammatory response to the treatment. I have never seen it before but you'll heal up." He showed no concern or empathy for me as I was fine in before his treatment. I also asked a family friend who is a dentist. He told me that he suspected a "bleach incident." Dr. Nygard was very dismissive and didn't take any responsibility for the incident. He told me call if I have any issues. I am still swollen and have a headache. I am seeing my PCP tomorrow due to this issue. When he saw my pictures, he called immediatley and told me exactly what had happened.

We drove to a couple of other local offices, called three other dentists and they were either closed or too busy to take a late-hour emergency. Dr. Skousen's office, answered the phone, was interested in the problem and prepped for our arrival, and stayed late to see that we could be helped. Additionally, making room in their schedule for the proper procedures to be done the following day when more time permitted. Having never been in a Sunrise Dental office before, I was pleasantly impressed and have since made Dr. Skousen our primary family dentist. Everyone was extremely friendly and thorough. It might sound strange, but it was actually an enjoyable dental experience, save the pain. Lastly, it was great to sit and discuss dental needs and plans with a dentist, rather than simply be told what needs to be done.

DO NOT EVEN BOTHER! i made an appointment, waited 2 months because the valley is backed up. i called the Monday before my Wednesday appointment with questions and was told i didnt have an appointment that day, that it was the wednesday before. i knew that was wrong and did some research. found the TEXT MESSAGE they sent to varify my appointment on the date i had correctly, not the week prior, so i called back to hold them accountable. they then lied and said a different reason, saying i "didnt confirm at least 24hours before my appointment, so they gave it to someone else". wrong again, i called 2 days before to ask questions and was told it was ALREADY CANCELED! so, 2nd LIE! i asked for the office manager and she told me i "no showed to last weeks appointment so they cancelled this weeks appointment". LIE NUMBER 3! I NEVER HAD AN APPOINTMENT LAST WEEK! so, you lie to me 3 times instead of admitting your own clarical errors? i asked if there was any way they could accommodate a sooner appointment since none of these "issues" were of any of MY doing and was told no, and to take my business elsewhere.

When I went in to have it looked at they didn't take me serious or give me anything to help. It's been a week and my mouth still hurts.
