Me and my girlfriend are greedy when it comes to good food, and Papion's absolutely delivered. We got the seafood gumbo, boudin balls, jambalaya, red beans and rice, and beignets--and I honestly cannot pick a favorite because EVERYTHING was seasoned perfectly and packed with flavor. You can tell this isn't just a restaurant where they're trying to feed you and send you on your way--the food and the hospitality both felt genuine. Looking around the restaurant, we noticed that nearly every table was waiting on drink refills, so it wasn't just our table experiencing the issue. Maybe the weekday specials are what earn the great reviews, but they aren't available on Saturdays. Based on our experience, we'd choose somewhere else next time.
