I give this company only one star due to the fact I can't leave a lessor one. I have an electric…read moreboat rental operation where I use Go-Float Electric boats exclusively. I partnered with this company after seeing these boats at the 2013 Chicago Boat Show. I initially purchased four boats in 2013 then got a fifth one in 2014. I also sell the boats where I take a 10% commission on what I sell. The customer comes to my rental operation for a demo ride then orders one from the factory. The agreement is once a customer takes delivery of the boat then a check is sent to me. This is where the deceit and dishonesty comes in. I am directly responsible for a sale that happened in June. Customer took delivery of boat in mid-June. I still have not received payment! I also am directly responsible for five boats that were sold to another rental operation in 2015 at the Chicago Boat Show, as well as another customer due to my enthusiastic praise of the boats and the company and the positive response my customers gave me regarding my boat rentals. All of that has changed now due the lack of respect shown to me by Go-Float as a dealer/rental business. I have placed numerous calls to Steve Hendrickson whom I was told "Writes the Checks" but he has not bothered to return my calls. I have spoken to Mike Rollo who is in management there, but all I have gotten from him is answers that don't make any sense at all! The only person I have not talked to there is Bart Jones, who is busy building the boats. As a business owner I would NEVER treat the people I work with this way! The way Go-Float has treated me tells me that they couldn't care less about me! All total, I am owed $3500.00 for direct sale of one boat and six others as a result of my involvement at the 2015 Chicago Boat Show. All I am asking for is what is owed to me no more no less. Since I am, to the best of my knowledge at the time of this writing the only African American rental/dealer operation in Illinois, I have to believe that racial bias is at play here. All of the other rental/dealer operations who are not black have not had this kind of problem. I have never felt this way in my life but this situation has shown me their true colors and that is very sad and disappointing. If you are thinking about going into business with this company, don't! They do not honor their agreements with all of their dealers. I called several dealers and one of them said that Go-Float is out of business! If that is the case, then that explains what I am going through. Another said he can't get parts for modules that have burned out. I have never written a bad review of business in my life. However, this experience has compelled me to do so. Since they refuse to pay me on their own, the next logical step is to take legal action against the company and the principal players who I listed above. It is a shame that it had to come to this. Rest assured, if I owed them money they would surely come after me. Again, Go-Float Electric Boats refuses to pay me what is owed to me and Steve Hendrickson refuses to return my calls. Shameful!

The boat was pretty much a no frills 20' pontoon that worked very well and to be honest, had seen its fair share of time on the water. It operated flawlessly and handled very well. Because it wasn't in pristine condition I wasn't overly concerned about every little thing my kids did. Had it been a brand new boat I would have been nervous about anything that they did. We had a small issue with our swimming ladder for getting back onto the boat. We swung by the marina and they hooked us up with a ladder that worked much better. My family had a fantastic time on the boat, their staff was super helpful and friendly, and if we're back in the area again we would ABSOLUTELY rent from them again.

Renters BEWARE!!! Not an ethical business!!…read more Employee who clearly had limited training was left in charge of the business. The water crafts they rent have no safety gauges to include water depth-finder, fuel gauge, trim gaug. Then, they charge renters for chips/dings to props, because they can't effectively raise the trim based on water depth. They told us they intentionally disconnect all gauges because they drain the battery. Also, if you run out of gas (because you have no idea how much gas is even in the boat - no operable gauge), they charge $80-$120 service fee to come and put gas in the boat. Lastly, when we expressed concern about the lack of operable gauges, and safety concerns on our specific pontoon, the young man who was left in charge said he would process a specific refund amount. Instead he charged us an additional $118 For a gift card! What?!?! Then it took over an hour and a half for the owner to show up - after several calls, and the owner sending other young kids to try to help. He finally refunded the fraudulent charge for the gift card, and the refund, only to REVERSE both after we left, so we were being charged the full amount PLUS an additional $118 for a gift card purchase we never made and never received. Our credit card company confirmed the credit and refund were reversed. We tried to file a claim with the sheriffs office for fraudulent credit card activity. They told us they went out to the business and he showed them his system where he credited our account. The sheriff believed him and told us, if he doesn't refund the fraudulent charge, we need to hire an attorney and take him to small claims court. I wonder how many others he has done this to... look at the other reviews and find out.

We just bought a cabin on a lake last year, and then purchased a pontoon and dock this past spring for summer. My MIL found this company and said "the guys were really nice, we can store the boat and lift here, it's gonna be great". COOL. Well, after they came to put the lift in the first time, we just seemed to have problem after problem with them and the lift. First time we called to get something fixed or adjusted, they didn't do anything and still charged us. Second time they came out to fix their mistake, they dropped the motor in the lake, and STILL charged us. Third time they came out to fix their mistake, they dropped fishing poles in the water and didn't bother to fish them out, to which they sat in the water for probably a week. Forth time they came to fix their mistakes, they broke a fishing rod and managed to bend our pontoon canopy bars and claimed "we didn't do any of that". When everything was brought up, the guy said "my guys have worked 10 some years and they're good and loyal to their job, they wouldn't have done that." And NOTHING was done to fix any of the problems. My MIL and grandfather in law spent over $6k for stuff they broke and couldn't fix and REFUSED to give us any compensation for the legit hell they caused us and how much money they just lost for literally NOTHING. We all have been fumed with anger, especially with them doing nothing to make the problem better. This place is 1000% money hungry, and no ones takes pride in their work, making or keeping customers happy. Rather get the business, do a shit job and take your money and run. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.
