Yaquina Bay Lighthouse is the other lighthouse on the south side of Newport, Oregon. A small town I…read moream very partial towards. I love the fact that there are two lighthouses on both sides of town. The place is scenic already with the Oregon Coast but having not one but two lighthouses makes it all the more magical. This one looks a lot different than the lighthouse north of town. This has a fine historical aspect to it and served as a residence as well if you can go in and tour around which you can't always do. And of course like most lighthouse locations there is a great view involved here and you can look out over the ocean. I recommend visiting both lighthouses in town but the one north is my favorite but both are nice, minor walks and plenty of picture opportunities are are available here.

I came here in the winter expecting rain and fog. Got a few good eerie looking shots, which was nice. If you're from California, this bridge will remind you of a tiny version of the bixby bridge. I can see this place having a nice view on a clear and sunny day. I would love to go back when the weather is clear :)

The world's smallest harbor, or great places to shop or eat or just a great place to park and chill. You'll love it here in Depoe Bay, Oregon. We're enjoying everything. The great hotel at reasonable rates. The veiw from our 3rd floor room. The sounds of the ocean crashing on the rocky shore. The people watching. Or just the coastal vibes. We recently found a hotel at great rates and keep coming back to this little town with a big heart. We're abto hit up the Sea Hag for some breakfast and "World Famous Bloody Mary's. " probably a nap after that. Trust me. A belly fool of food + a couple world's famous bloody Mary's and the sound of the ocean = sleepy time.

We looked for a place to eat first since we were so hungry. We found a Thai restaurant along the U.S. 101 Highway. We passed by the "The World's Smallest Harbor" and we meant to come back to check it out after our lunch but we completely forgot. I got distracted from seeing the cute little stores along the highway. Depoe Bay is not a stranger to Hollywood. Some movie locations were filmed here like from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (fishing trip scenes) and a restaurant scene in the movie The Burning Plain (with Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence and Kim Basinger)... Across the highway in the downtown area towards the ocean is a sea wall but it was getting too cold so we didn't cross the street. We are so very lucky to live in a community that has such an outstanding library. The staff is…read morealways finding new and inventive ways to engage the young and old in activities that are age appropriate and enjoyable. And, of course, the library has a wonderful collection of books, movies, newspapers, magazines and streaming services. The staff has always been kind, courteous and helpful. Unfortunately, because of city cutbacks, the library has been unable to reopen on Sundays and Mondays. The library is my favorite building in the entire county and I encourage everyone to check out (forgive the pun) this gem.

The bridge soars above the water offering us commanding views of the mountains and the ocean. If you like you can walk across the bridge and enjoy spectacular views of the jetty and Yaquina Bay. There is a high pedestrian sidewalk on each side of the roadway, but no railing between you and the cars. You might even catch a glimpse of some sea life and birds. It was very windy on the bridge.

First of all, at this point they only accept cash or checks-which I find absurd. They do have a tiny sign nothing this that I missed when I went in. The clerk ONLY offered priority postage (I wanted ground) shipping. And when I told him that I didn't want that or have cash, he made a huge deal about how the post office is losing $30+ because they can't void postage (this seems completely false since you can void/request a refund when you click and ship online-which is what I would have done if I knew I would be forced to pay for priority). Overall disappointed and will not return except to drop off packages.

Our first time RV'ing anywhere, and so we went to the visitor center as it was listed as a free rv…read moredump site. First, the streets around the center are WIDE. Second, the pull in spot looks like it was well thought out. Plenty of space to maneuver. While the poor soul(s) in charge of the RV do the dumping, everyone else can pop on into one of the nicest visitor centers we've ever been to... and we've driven through almost all the states in the union. The center doesn't need to be open as they've got a great protected setup just outside the front door. Fortunately they were open, so we went in and spoke with Mike who was extremely helpful! He pulled up a map of the city, and with a red sharpy quickly marked all the places in town where we'd be able to pull up and park parallel... he even took into consideration how steep different streets were. If you're visiting Newport, go here first before anywhere else!
