While he may have a disability, he was more than capable of doing the work with the help of his assistant. On my last transaction, I had a short closing, but everything was done in a timely fashion. Any questions I had were answered promptly. I didn't need to get a "second opinion ". I would certainly recommend Robert Ellwood for your real estate needs.

This was not disclosed to us so we could properly set our expectations. Only after a month of correspondence on the eve of the closing date of selling our condo did we end up in their office where we learned that he was unable to converse with us. As we had planned on proceeding with him for the closing of our home purchase, we become stuck because the night prior to meeting him we had committed to a short windowed close for a property purchase of only 7 days. His legal assistant assured us this would be no issue. Days later, after requiring advice on a part of the process, I kept getting the same response. when i raised concerns about it possibly jeopardizing our closing, I informed them "I would seek another lawyer as Robert could not speak to the question". Never once stating that we wanted to end the relationship or not have Robert as our lawyer. simply that we sought a second opinion. Then over the weekend without my knowledge they ended our relationship and proceeded to move the money we placed in their trust back into our accounts. This was extremely frustrating as we had figured out the answers to our questions and were ready to move forward again a day and a half later, but they informed us they had ended the relationship of us being their client and already taken off the day that we had planned on closing and could no longer assist us. Due to their misconduct in abruptly ending our agreement with no notice, we reached out to the law society of Ontario to complain, as now we may have to pay another lawyer more money to expedite the closing.
