Our flight arrived late and by the time we went through the customs and arrived at the hotel, it was 1:30 am.
We checked in, and headed to our room. The first disappointment was that the elevators did not work and we had to climb 3 flights of stairs up. This was especially inconvenient since I have a bad knee and had confirmed that they had elevators
After we wen to our room, We left our bags in the room and walked down the stairs again town to grab a bite, since we had been in the road for 20 hours.
When returned to the room around 3 am the elevators still did not work. We went up the stairs and tried to open the room with our key but the key which had previously worked stopped working. Tired and sleepy we went to a friends room and called the reception.
The reception told us, 3 in the morning , that our son who sleeps in our triple room was over 18 and we had to go downstairs and pay 301tl, $67. I told them we provided them with all of our passports when we checked in , and it was after 3 in the morning and the elevator did not work and would not down and up the stairs again we would work it out in the morning. After a brief discussion i co Vince's the receptionist to come up and bring us a key.
The next day we woke up and had breakfast and wen to checkout to leave for our boat trip.
They asked for the $67 again. I reminded them that our stay was all included half board, meaning we have paid for breakfast and dinner and all amenities. We spent less than 9 hours in the hotel and only had breakfast. I reminded them that 5 of is with our friends did not have dinner either, just a light breakfast, even though we had paid for it, and we had spent only 9 hours and that their elevators never worked.
I also reminded them that the bed they had prepared for my son was not changed and the hotel did not expend any resources and that I had provided his passport when we checked in, in fact he was right in front of the reception desk when we checked in.
I said that $67 for the breakfast he had was too much, but no matter how much I explained , they did not budge and would not check us out until I paid the $67 even though all 5 of us never had any dinner we had paid for.
Overall a disappointing experience. It seems that Marti Resort has been run down because of mismanagement, it did definitely not look like. 5 start resort as they advertise. Maximum 2 stars. Disappointing to see such a staple go to shambles. They are trying to nickel and dime their customers.
There was couple right in front of me , arguing at the reception about the dilapidated status of their bathroom, and also that they were charged for drinks even though they had full board which is all inclusive.
It's a shame that this famous resort has been run down because of bad management.
I will not stay there nor recommend it.
To our second disappointment, the room key did not work which had earlier worked.
Three beds were set up as requested. We went to sleep. In the morning we woke up with my wife and my son and we
