I found this authentic Turkish Bath in Old Town Fethiye which is just a few steps from the marina. The Hamam is an beautiful old building that really utilizes natural lighting and makes one think of times long gone. They had a special price of 35 TL for the sauna and traditional scrub and I added on a hour long massage for another 50 TL. I didn't know what to expect as this was my first experience in a Turkish bath but I was definitely wowed by the experience. I was ushered into a tiny changing room to put on a towel and you can choose to fully undress or like myself just opt to wear your swimming suit bottoms and the towel they give you. Then you can relax in an atrium type room with many little side rooms while a sauna makes you sweat out your past transgressions. There is a large island in the middle of the room where strong men are scrubbing the heck out of you and cover your body in sudsy olive oil bubbles. I came out pink and clean. After I had a pressure point massage where I was at a few points tempted to cry. I made it through with most of my dignity though and I felt like a new woman after- definitely a recommended experience.

Orient Spa in Fethiye, Turkey…read more During my stay in Fethiye Turkey I've been to the Orient Spa in Fethiye, Turkey. It is a typical Turkish Spa or Bath and it is called Hamam in Turkish. The Spa is located only 200 meter from Calis beach and thus, makes it convenient to walk there. The front door people are a but pushy but the masseuse ladies very nice. My massage therapist - Hasret - is a cute and caring young women. Because of her I came back a second time. I made an appointment but when arrived was told Hasret is busy with another client. I had to come back later. When I did Hasret told me the big boss of the Orient hotel wanted a massage. Ohh, if the owner puts his wishes before that of his customers, well... only 3 stars, it could have been 5.

We had very bad plumbing and extremely poor ventilation.
