I would give this course zero stars if I could. This is the absolute worst disc golf course I have…read moreever been to. It is an abomination and embarrassment to disc golfers and disc golf courses everywhere. First, there are no markings for the disc baskets and no maps at the throw pads, so you have no idea what to do, and have to guess which basket to throw towards. If you guess wrong, you have to somehow manage to find your disc in the scorching-hot eye-melting field of fire and march back a half mile to the start and try again. Second, the smell is unbearable. You play most of the course next to a river, which is a nice view, but the sewage aroma radiates out of it with the fury of a thousand suns and makes playing near it almost insufferable. Thirdly, it is difficult to get to, since every 100 feet of the park has an unmarked entrance. And lastly, the spacing is poor - seriously, why make us walk a half mile in between holes on a course with such a small amount of trees? We're already in a field who's temperature rivals that of the underworld. Why don't you make one hole start where the former hole ends like Blendon, Balgriffin, Glacier, and Hoover do it? Such an awful course. Blendon, Balgriffin, Glacier, Hoover and even Plain City are much better. Don't waste your time at this garbage park. Go literally anywhere else.

The last few years they had to cut down a lot of trees, but they've planted some new young ones, so the challenge isn't quite there yet. A few new pin placements have made a few of the holes more difficult. + A & B pin placements + Discs available near by, DiscGolf Mart located a mile south of the course, and the Marathon Station located shortly north of the course + Local course for many players in the Disc Golf community + Wednesday Random Draw Doubles, starts usually around 5pm - 6pm depending on length of daylight. + Has several tournaments each year - Can get very busy - Lots of wear and tear, but the community is working towards fixing up the course -B placements are new (2009) so distance is just written on hole poles with a marker, not on the official signage. - Pin #2 is usually used as a practice tee since there aren't any, can confuse people teeing off, but just let anyone know you are throwing and the community is well aware and respectful.

Great course that will challenge your distance and accuracy. You'll have fun and a good 3 mile…read morewalk. Take a photo of the course with your phone before you start so you can easily find the next tee. (That will help on 15.) The first half of the course is wide open and long, but there are a few tricks to learn. When the signs say there is a "drop off" they actually mean cliff! A slight over correction or hook will land you 75 feet down a steep hill before your disc even begins to roll. The back 9 are in the woods- so add trees to the distance and a nice hike on the way. In the fall the back 9 will play easier, but in spring and summer you'll fight the leaves on the trees. Par here is 63, just 1 under the much shorter course at Blendon Woods just across 161. Both courses are Fun- but Hoover is a challenge. One you'll enjoy taking. ***Note*** if you put the address into google or maps it will bring you to the middle of the course- not the start. Take Central College and a left onto Cubbage, then take the first left. Follow it to the parking lot just before the dam then you'll be set.

Pros: + This course is a good challenge from pro's and normal tees. + It's well taken care of + There are some good long throwing hole and technical holes. + A & B pin placements with regular and pro tees. + Hosts several tournaments each year + 27 holes to play + The front nine is open, and the back nine is wooded, and the back back nine (A-I) is a mixture of both. Cons: - Gets crowded when the weather is nice, and I've noticed large groups play (more than 4 people) - Parking can be a problem on the weekends. It gets very busy at those times. Park near the entrance and start at hole 10, park in the main lot, for hole 1, or park in the back or main lot for hole A. The back back 9 (A-I) aren't usually that busy. Other Thoughts: Most people I know start hole A after they play 14 and then continue on to 15 after hole I, but play it as you see fit. To get to hole 15 from 14 walk through the pine tree forest, to find A, continue forward towards the road, the pro tee is on the left and the regular tee is around to the right.

There are some interesting layouts that will have you shooting blind to a few holes, but the U-Disc app layout is good. Speaking of that, the app defaults to a par 3, but the course markets at each hole will designate the course par for each hole. 16, 17 and 18 are par 4 by the signs but par 3s on the app. The course is kept up pretty well by the Columbus Parks folks, as they keep the grass cut and trash off the course. 18 holes Cart friendly, but No dogs though. We followed signs to the course, which could have been a tad better, but we made it. We had frisbees in the car so we were kinda geared up. When you get to the course, there may be discs available for your use left by others. We lucked out by someone's generosity so I borrowed one- just to have options. There is an area before the course starts that you can play a game closer to the "basket" to get some practice. Each hole has a par like regular golf and every hole had its own challenges. It turns out I suck. I threw more of a hissy fit than the frisbee! I still enjoyed walking the course and watching my boyfriend play. It's such a beautiful park and a great way to spend the afternoon outdoors.

DISC GOLF / SHORTER COURSE / GOOD TECHNICAL HOLES. …read more Of all the Courses we've played, Whitehall YMCA is our Favorite. While there aren't any extra long holes (Average is about 260 feet). Even so, the scattering of trees and a couple of ingenious hole set ups make this 9-hole course a treat. What's more is that each hole has a long and short basket, offering 18 different hole combinations - as well as handicapped holes when you have two different.skill sets in your group. . What we like more is the convenience of well-placed tee boxes, which usually sit less than 50 feet from the previous hole/basket. . Lastly, the course is maintained by YMCA, which means manicured fairways, most with a lawn that is just long enough for clover - and avoids treadwear from excessive foot traffic. . The only issue with the Courses is that if you do decide to play 18 holes, you'll be climbing a long set of stairs at the end of each 9 holes. Still, this is our Favorite Eastside course - and by far.

Hole 5 has the mozzarella sticks (logs) sticking up as obstacles through the course. It's the easiest to birdie on the course. 6 and 7 are in the woods, 6 is the furthest and then 7 will bring you back to the path. I had logs near the pins and #9 is in the field heading to the hill. You'll walk back up the 43 steps you came down earlier to get to #10. Easy parking in the YMCA lot. We'll done Whitehall, nice little course.

Great views and you may have an occasional horse trot through from the paths through the woods. The first time you play it might help to go with someone who knows the layout of the course as there are no signs pointing you to the next hole. Some holes are a good walk through the woods and you won't find them without some sort of map or guide (which I have not found yet.) Luckily I played with my cousin who's been there before, but I would still be out there if I went my myself. I can't wait to take my sons out there and play again.
