We were eager to try the infamous anchovies local to the area, and this place did not disappoint! They had a myriad of options to try anchovies cooked in numerous ways! The food and the hospitality at this little spot are both spot on. You would be a fool to not visit…read morehere at least once during your time in the Tuscan seaside town of Viareggio. Unless you plan to make their dinner service right as they open, be sure to make a reservation in advance as the tiny spot fills up very quickly. From the moment we arrived for our dinner reservation the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and as if we were right at home. As soon as we were settled in, our waiter brought us a small "welcome dish" from the chef that he described to us a typical Tuscan soup. I don't know what it was called but it was delicious! For our food, we ordered their tordelli with meat ragu sauce after our waiter informed us it's a typical type of ravioli in that region. You'll quickly learn as you travel through Italy that each region and often many towns and cities have their own unique ways of creating their pasta dishes that you can only find in that region. The recommendation was a good one because the dish was delicious! For our main, we ordered the Pork Steak Senese which consisted of pre-cut grilled pork with parmesan and balsmamic and grilled trevisano (a type of leafy green). It didn't look the most appetizing when it was placed in front of us but looks can be deceiving because it was another delicious dish. To wrap up what was already an enjoyable meal, when our waiter brought our bill he also placed a small tray of almond biscuit cookies topped with powdered sugar, a dessert typical of the Tuscan region, as another compliments of the kitchen. Between the tasty food and the small gestures of hospitality, we will definitely be back to dine here if we ever found ourselves in Viareggio again.

There was a long wait for food, but as I said, this place was packed full, so it really seemed quite a reasonable wait considering. Three husbands loved his pizza and devoured it quickly. The toppings on mine were so delicious, though the crust was not one of the better ones I had here in Italy. It was similar to store bought gf crust from the States, but overall, it's still tasty! We couldn't turn down their decadent chocolate dessert, which was so creamy and delicious. Overall, it was a very nice find and would certainly recommend it.

It's located on a former vineyard, which explains their names, but it located near vineyards as well. The best and freshest food I've had so far during my travel through Rome, Verona, Florence will be here. The food here is phenomenal with the traditional yet contemporary twists of Tuscany style food. This place puts to shame the "G" green rating of American restaurants that boasts about local and organic ingredients. First off their salad taste like it was just picked! The reason is the intense quality control of their food from knowing that their food sources come from a local farm where there are specific parameters of their pork and beef without any form of chemicals. You will not find any style cut of this kind of meat anywhere in the U.S. Andrea even asked the kitchen staff to create a dish that I described that wasn't on the menu which tasted fresh from the ocean. I am already missing their food and great service here, and would stay here again.
