However, the Busiate with swordfish which is local Sicilian favorite more than made up it. The sun dried tomatoes, fresh lemon and parsley was just a great combination with the fish. I could not finish it all but that was not due to the taste. I was just simply stuffed. Do not be afraid to try Al Faro if in the area. They are located right by the dock with plenty of parking, and you'll have a great experience.

The servers were all so nice and I believe it's a small family owned establishment, and I think the owners were also waiting on us at some point during the meal. All of the restaurant employees were so nice, welcoming, and offered to answer any questions we had on the menu. We started with a bottle of white wine and it was amazing! I think most wines of their menu were less than 25 euros a bottle. They also provided us with a basket of bread to start complimentary as well. We started with Panelle to start as an appetizer (little chickpea fritters, they were amazing! 5 euros for I believe they were 5 fritters). We also ordered the Busiate alla Norma (13 euros, this was the best and freshest pasta you could imagine, truly amazing and they split it for us in the kitchen and was plenty big for two people to share). For entrees, we both ordered the Filetto di pesce fresco (fresh fish filet, 20 euros), and included a few small vegetables as well. We also ended with a Canolli for desert, and OMG it was the best cannoli I've ever had. I believe it was 3 euros and the flavor was out of this world. We split the cannoli in two, but I think I could have eaten two of them just myself! I really felt like we were eating in a Michelin starred restaurant, the food quality and preparation were amazing, along with the service was very white glove as well. Lunch for me was fried octopus, which was 4 legs, each 6" (150 mm.) long and crispy on the outside and tender but slightly chewy on the inside like great fried chicken. I had seen a plate the night before and actually dreamed of them. They did not disappoint. She chose another iteration of cozze from the specials menu. These mussels were steamed in beer with fresh ginger and were comparably good to the sautéed but slightly more subtle. It turns out that dishes on the specials menu can work their way onto the standard menu if the patrons insist and the chef came out to ask for a comparison. We repeated the contorni plate of chef's choice vegetables that repeated the potato slices but added grill zucchini and oven dried onion that was sweet with all of the bitter components gone and the consistency of a very thin potato chip. We tried to rein in for dinner with pasta only. I had the Sicilian classic Pasta a la Norma with strong fresh tomato, soft eggplant, and sweet onion. It demanded scarpetta even with a white linen table cloth. She had pasta with prawns that was subtle and delicate with a lighter tomato sauce with herbs. We repeated the wines from the night before.
