For mornings I wanted to stay in, the B&B offers a traditional and delicious Italian-style breakfast from 8-10 for only 10 Euro. For solo travelers, there are lots of places on the property to escape to for reading or getting work done. Private gated parking is included and the property is a convenient driving distance to many great restaurants and shops down in the village. For a quiet and conveniently located getaway, I definitely recommend!

The people are wonderful and the lodging is sufficiently comfortable. It's generously sized, with a small kitchen and a couple of bedrooms. The living area and balcony were quite substantial. There were four of us and we never felt squeezed at all. The hotel is owned by Sr. Motta and he is a sweet and kind man. His English was as good as my Italian, which is terrible, yet we had a wonderful time chatting. We worked our way through the conversations together, and we really enjoyed meeting him. Filippo was the manager on site most of the time during our stay. His English was wonderful and he gave us great recommendations in terms of where to eat and what to see. We really enjoyed meeting him and he so positively added to the experience. Motta is a great place to stay when exploring the eastern side of Sicily. Catania is just too much city and it is hard to navigate. Motta makes for a great jumping off spot in which to see the best that the east side has to offer. We took day trips to Taormina, Aci Trezza, Siracusa, and Noto. If you want a true five-star experience, this is not for you. But if you want to be immersed in the culture of a small Sicilian town and feel a part of the community for a bit, it's a wonderful place to stay. I cannot recommend it enough!

So let me be upfront and say that this is not a 4 star hotel. I had what I felt was a 4 star…read moreexperience. The hotel is located in a neighborhood not far from the US Navy base I was visiting. The rooms are larger by European standards and remind me of the Marriott Residence Inn's. My room had a separate living room and the bedroom was in the back of the room. The WiFi was pretty fast for Europe and that was pleasantly surprising. The bed was your standard European bed so on the hard side. There was a queen size bed and a twin in the bedroom. The normal guest are families. They had a iron and ironing board in the room already which for me was a bonus. The Kitchen was nice and the refrigerator was a great option to have cold water etc available. The bathroom was slightly small but with the added plastic shelving it worked quite well. This is a family run business so that made it fun. The family are really nice and make sure your enjoy your stay. The morning breakfast which is European style was fantastic. They make you espresso and or cappuccino on request. They were both delicious so I requested both each morning. This is Italian style coffee and not that wimpy Starbucks junk. An espresso and cappuccino and i was set for my morning caffeine influx. My favorite item at breakfast was the Pistachio croissant which was warm and delicious. I would gladly stay here again if in the area. They were close to a great Kebab place and a awesome Sicilian Pizza place so that in itself is a bonus. For info on them see my reviews as they are both worth a visit.

Enza and Marco, the receptionists, are very helpful and so friendly!…read more I made a mistake and booked the incorrect dates online, but Marco took care of my cancellation and didn't charge me for the extra day. They allowed me and my sister to check in way early prior to normal check in times because we caught an overnight train from Naples to Catania. We were able to freshen up and change our clothes before hitting the town. There was a bit of a language barrier between us and the receptionists. but we figured it out. We booked a double bed with a shared bathroom. The rooms are clean and air conditioned. There's even a sink in our room so we can brush our teeth. The front desk is on the 3rd floor with no elevator. Hope your luggage isn't too heavy! I would definitely book here again! Check out Taormina's Isola Bella beach if you're here! It's gorgeous with a cute little town!

I especially enjoyed having a glass of wine at the end of the day on the moonlit terrace (where breakfast is also served in the mornings) and looking out at the gorgeous views. Breakfast was the feast of kings! A cacophony of pastries, delectable family recipe concoctions, fresh fruits and variety of breads, meats and cheeses meant we were spoilt for choice and absolutely stuffed by the end of it! I'll definitely return to this hotel if I'm ever in Sicily again

In the bathroom there were very few toiletries provided such as creams, conditioners, shaving cream, etc. More importantly one of our shower heads did not work and the toilet broke 4-5 times while we were there. Each time they came to fix it the toilet would break again after the first flush. The last day we were there the toilet was broken for the entire day, requiring us to use the restroom in the hallway. I will say the staff was very understanding and accommodating but when they tried to contact the management because we were so upset no manager would answer the phone. Because we had to leave for the airport we had no choice but to pay the full amount for the room. While we loved Catania and Sicily this certainly put a damper on our stay.

In particular the included breakfast was excellent. There were tables inside and on a terrace. Extensive choice of foods and drinks at the buffet. Drip coffee available and coffee on order (eg espresso) offered also. Meats, eggs, fruits, cereals, milk (cow and soy), juices, yogurts, cheeses, breads, pastries... Our room faced a quiet inner courtyard. The ceiling was high with unique painting and other decor. Bathroom was new and clean. Internet (over Wi-Fi) worked very well. The hotel arranged us a car ride from the airport, and said we could pay by credit card. Car was there as scheduled, with a very competent tattooed female driver who got us to the hotel through a complex series of non-main roads with interesting local urban scenery. When we went to pay, the driver could not take credit card herself but had to go to the hotel front desk... we just paid cash to make it easy. TIP: if going to/from the bus or train station with luggage, there is a little-used bike trail along one street that is very easy for wheeled luggage -- unlike the dirty and "curby" parallel streets. When using Google Maps walking directions, it is the route that goes down Via Giovanni di Prima -- which by chance includes one block where the street has been named after Tony Curtis (Via Antonio de Curtis).
