Came here on a Monday night with some girlfriends to try this new omakase place out. Food was delicious and the fish was fresh. Each dish was explained well and came out at a good pace. We stayed until closing and had a great time! Service was attentive and the chefs were fun to talk to. The menu consisted of two omakase options. We all chose the $90 12 course menu. The 12 course had the addition of the Japanese noodle toro tartare, and the wagyu beef nigiri finale. Without these extra dishes I probably would have still been a bit hungry. The Japanese noodle was just soba noodles with a sesame dressing and a light shaving of black truffle (we did ask for a bit more truffle since we didn't really see it on the noodles when we first got it, the chefs were very nice and gave us a bit more) so nothing really special but the tuna tartare and wagyu nigiri were spectacular. We enjoyed the flavors of each dish very much and had a great experience!

I came here on a weeknight with a group of girlfriends around 5:30 and was greeted with friendly faces and seated right away at the sushi bar. We noticed they are currently BYOB, so we brought a bottle of wine. They kindly chilled it for us beforehand and kept our glasses full throughout the meal. They do offer a limited alcohol menu with one type of wine, beer, and cold sake if you prefer not to bring your own. We decided on the 12 course $90 omakase. From the first course to the last, every bite was absolutely delectable. My favorites included the first sashimi course with hirame and smoked pineapple, along with all of the sushi courses. The shima aji, sawara (king mackerel), and king salmon stood out as my top three, though everything melted in my mouth and was incredibly well prepared. The main dish, noodles in a sesame dressing topped with ground truffle, was served cold. I personally think it might have been even better as a warm dish. The grand finale was an A5 Wagyu beef nigiri with foie gras flakes, which was a perfect lead-in to dessert. After finishing our bottle of wine, we also ordered one of their cold sake options. Overall, the service was impeccable and the food quality was outstanding. This is definitely one of the better omakase experiences in Dallas, especially for the value.

Osho Omakase is a must visit experience. When you think of Omakase, you may think of high end experiences that have you in an intimate room with a dozen other people. This place is much more akin to Izakaya- that is to say, that it's much closer to 'Cheers' than a high end, presentation focused experience. This is a place you can go and get exceptional omakase while feeling like the chefs are genuinely happy you are there. Chef Joe and Chef Ken were both the most delightful and interesting chefs I have met. They taught me a lot about why their rice is brown rather than the typical white (come in to find out!). They explained how they find Japanese Wagyu to be the best and ONLY kind of wagyu (which is objectively the correct opinion). Honestly, I would come in once a week if I could. The food was purely just excellent. I cannot state enough that this is the food quality of a high end omakase experience with the personability of a local pub. Make friends with the chefs, talk, ask questions. Come in once a weekday when it's easier to talk. No matter what, please come in and try it- even the 60$ menu. The miso soup was unique, like a creamed corn with a miso note. The individual nigiri pieces were excellent; I personally loved the A5 Wagyu the most, followed by the Akamusu (ordered a-la-cart. You should get it. It's as good as Otoro.) No matter what, just try and come here if you love sushi. It's a wonderful and personable experience unlike omakase I've had before.

4.5 experience bumped up to 5 stars for amazing service and great chefs! My friend from out of town and I stopped by on a Monday night and had a wonderful experience. Osho's great value for an omakase in this economy - $90 for the 12-course tasting menu, which was a decent amount of food. We came in on a Monday night and they mentioned that they usually get fresh fish shipped in on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so they were out of some items on the menu; will just have to come back in the future for the other stuff we were interested in trying! After being seated we were offered complementary sake, which was a really nice perk! My friend and I split a bottle that came out to maybe 6-7 pours of sake. All the fish we had was very fresh and I was extremely impressed with several of the garnishes/extras the sushi chefs paired with certain courses; some, like green apple puree, macadamia butter, and beef tallow, I had never had in nigiri before, but none of them overpowered the fish, which was cured well and texturally pleasant. The madai was especially great - sometimes it can be too chewy/tough but Osho's was very soft and easy to eat. The sushi rice was excellent as well. The only blip in the evening came during the second sashimi course - my pieces of sawara had a few unplucked pin bones along the ridge of the skin. Something for the kitchen to keep in mind! After the second set of three nigiri, we were invited to order any extra pieces we wanted. We elected to add kurodai which was an excellent choice. The cold sesame noodles were amazing, super nutty and tangy, and of course the last piece of A5 wagyu nigiri was excellent and fatty. Matcha cheesecake was not bad - it's on the denser side compared to other Japanese cheesecakes but went well with our hot green tea. Our chefs were social and explained each piece well, and we even were each given a complementary bump of uni near the end of the meal. All in all, a great starter/entry-level omakase for those unfamiliar with the concept, with some delightful surprises for seasoned omakase-goers as well.

Came here for Valentine's Day and the place was packed. You could feel how excited everyone was for dinner. What really stood out was their $90 omakase menu. It definitely had an upscale feel without being over the top. Sitting at the bar is 100% the move, since you get to watch the plating and interact with the chefs made the experience so much better. I'd recommend making a reservation if possible. They were super friendly and service all around was great. Loved that they served white wine alongside the omakase, which was such a nice touch. And the surprise dessert at the end (not even on the menu!) was a sweet way to wrap up the meal. Overall, the meal was amazing and well executed. I'd definitely return.

If you are looking for not just a meal but more of a dining "event", this is it. Expect dinner to last about an hour and a half and not a rushed pace (but not slow either). The restaurant is tucked back in a large strip mall on Frankford and the tollway. The outside is pretty unassuming but when you walk in it's like you stepped into an upscale sushi bar in Japan (at least what I imagine it would be like). The sushi bar itself is beautiful, neat, and organized. You have plenty of personal space which is not always the case at a sushi bar. The chairs are actually comfortable too. They also have constellations lighting up on the ceiling which was a nice little touch. This is Omakase style dining so you don't have to make any choices- it's a fixed price- 90 dollars per person. The pacing of the courses and the service were really impeccable. I loved everything we had but my favorites were probably the salmon with black truffle and the cold noodles. Everything was fantastic and all of the fish was fresh and was just "melt in your mouth". This is not a good place to bring kids or anyone who doesn't eat seafood just fyi. The hot sake and the green tea were both phenomenal. One more thing- check out the bathroom - it has a fully high tech Japanese style toilet which was interesting.

$90 for 12 courses is not a bad deal but do know they have to make certain concessions in order to get into this price range. You only get 6 pieces of nigiri. The fish choices are more on the "moderate" side price wise, things like scallop and toro are not on the omakase menu but are available via a la carte. I thought overall the meal was satisfactory for an omakase restaurant. Some fish needed to be cured a little better to bring out the flavor more but it's nothing heinous taste wise. I didn't care too much for non seafood courses: the noodles, the soup, and the dessert. They were all very forgettable. The exception would be the "A5 beef with Foie Gras". This was very enjoyable. The service could be a little better. The sushi chef had to waved down one of the staff members to tell them I had sat down. I'll give it a pass since they just opened so I'm sure the kinks are being worked out. The chefs that serviced me were all very friendly. They engaged and talked with diners. A small thing but I did like all the little lights on the ceiling that looked like stars.

Parking: Located in a shopping center with lots of free parking. Interior: Modern. Clean. Service: Sat at the sushi bar - it wasn't busy when I went today at 6pm, and so, I received exceptional service from both Jeff and Christian! Food: Excellent! Loved everything from the omakase - paid extra for the O-toro, Hon Uni, and Engawa. Drinks: Complimentary white wine that paired nicely with the omakase. Overall: Two thumbs up! Would definitely come back! I've always been a fan of O-Toro and Chutoro, but Engawa is my new favorite sushi! From the moment it touches your tongue, it just melts almost immediately - similar to a snowflake melting into the palm of your hand.

For $90, I really can't complain. It comes with 14 dishes-nigiris, nori chip with uni . My favorite was the soup. It's unique and different from the soup you typically get at a Japanese restaurant. For the price, the fish were good. I'd come back but only if it's the same price lol

My husband made a reservation to try this omakase and it did not disappoint. Service was on point. The chef we had was really fun to talk to and told us a lot about the fish we ate. The restaurant felt very relaxed and was very clean. The best sushi I've had in Texas thus far.

I think this is a wonderful place to enjoy omakase that is affordable for 12 courses at $90. Their service was amazing and provided us complimentary wine and dessert. The fish quality was fresh and I enjoyed the trio and pumpkin miso the most. I also order uni and ají as add on but unfortunately they were out of it due to it being valentine the day before. We then got the akamutsu which has a similar texture as mackerel but not the same flavor as it is a seaperch. I also got the o-toro but there were pieces that were too chewy for me. It was the only thing I didn't like there. Overall, the service here is amazing and a great place to get omakase!

My meal at Osho was outstanding! Came to the Dallas area for work and wanted to find a decently priced omakase for dinner and was so happy to find Osho! I was thinking of ordering nigiri à la carte instead of doing the tasting but decided to do the short tasting. As I had my first few bites, I was blown away and decide to change my meal to the full 12 courses! I'm so glad I did because they dishes were all amazing. I loved the unique flavor combinations with the nigiri and sashimi dishes. I'm n top of that, the staff were all friendly and attentive.

My husband and I reserved a spot for 6:30pm on a Friday night. The sushi chefs are so sweet and polite, and service was great with warm hand towels and clean and elevated atmosphere. We sat at the bar and did their 12 course omakase plus two add ons. - Sashimi #1: Smoked flounder and pineapple. Tart, refreshing palette opener. 8/10 - Sushi #1: Shima aji. Slightly firmer texture that softens with delicate ocean flavor. 8/10 - Sushi #1: Akami (tuna) with wagyu fat. Extremely buttery texture with deep rich flavor. 8/10 - Sushi #1: Ume madai (sea bream) with apple juice & miso egg yolk. Clean fish with slightly drier texture that pairs well with refreshing adds. 8/10 - Sashimi #2: Spanish mackerel with ponzu, garlic, daikon salt, micro greens. Savory and slightly bitter taste when eaten with greens. Fish is clean with medium firmness. 6.5/10 - Sushi #2: Kanpachi (amberjack)with ponzu and green apple. Soft but with little chewiness. Delicate fish flavor with overall refreshing flavor. 8.5/10 - Sushi #2: Salmon torched with truffle butter & truffle. Buttery rich flavor and texture. 8/10 - Sushi #2: Black cod torched with lemon and torched again with miso. Perfect balance of buttery and firm texture. Miso flavor deep delicate flavor pairing. 9/10 - Chip: Tuna tartare with soybean paste to eat with bread. 6.5/10 - Add on: Kinmedai (snapper) with house sauce and lemon sauce. Clean and firm pairs with lemon sauce well. 8/10 - Add on: Engawa (halibut) torched with macadamia butter. Warm and flaky with buttery taste. 9.5/10 - Main dish: Cold noodle with sesame saice and black truffle. Strong and tasty sesame flavor with chewy noodle. 7.5/10 - Soup: Pumpkin miso soup. Mild and clean with pumpkin fragrance (but my husband says it's a 10) 6.5/10 - Main dish pairing: A5 Wagyu torched with meaty and rich flavor. 6/10 - Dessert: Matcha cheesecake. I'm not a cheesecake person. It is lighter than a plain American cheesecake but it's not like the fluffy asian cheesecake Bonus: Chef offered fresh ginger and sliced it up, which was spicy and refreshing. Overall, experience is well worth for the $90 price point (excluding add-on/)! Definitely enjoyed our dinner here! (photo captions may be slightly off ‍)
