Best local coffee shop in Bradenton! I've been a few times and every time it is wonderful! They have creative drinks such as the mariposa which is blue due to something in the tea, and last time I went with a friend, they got a coffee soda (coffee with seltzer!). As it is September, pumpkin spice is here so I got a pumpkin spice latte with oat milk and omg it was so delicious! Perfect way to get excited for fall while living in Florida!:) I'm glad I was able to sub in a non dairy milk! The food was also great and fresh. I have tried the guava pastry a couple of times in the past and it is delicious great little place to study, work, or hangout. They often have stuff to do at night such as trivia or live music, and during the day each month it is the site of the Friendly City Flea Market which was super fun! However, right now due to covid those activities have been on pause for a bit, but I am sure once things start going back to normal those will resume. pretty solid espresso drinks! The first two times I went to oscura was when they first opened and I was not a fan. I am going to blame it on the barista who was there when they first opened and is no longer there. Ever since then, the coffee has honestly been consistent and amazing. Such a cute, hip new place in downtown Bradenton! The staff is really friendly, the decor is really tastefully done, and the environment is perfect for curling up with a book or your laptop. They have good wine and beer, too. Finally, the food was delicious and perfectly prepared. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and I had the avocado toast, and both were delicious. We will definitely be back. It's so nice to see Bradenton have such a fun place to chill. read more

Wonderful place to go if you want to be insulted and your integrity questioned. A few months ago a friend and I went for lunch. As locals across the street we were excited for a new restaurant that was close to us and offered a nice lunch menu. We were eager to support a new and upcoming business. We were asked by "new ownership" how our meals were, and, giving our honest opinion, stated that they weren't that great. The owner, Jake Parsons, gave us his card, and two "free visit" vouchers each and explained that our next two visits, and anyone with us, was on them. I went to use my second voucher after work with friends from the office and was first told that it was intended for me and only one other guest. I responded by saying that wasn't what I was told, and they allowed me to get drinks for the guests with me. I was then approached by another owner who said "this is now the third voucher we received and I'm a little concerned. Let's just hit the reset button." Thank you, Oscura, for your disrespectful ownership and staff, and for effectively insulting me to the point that I am no longer willing to step foot in your doors. Accusing your guests of forgery isn't the best way to get support from locals. Reset button hit, folks. read more

This is such a a cute spot and the service is excellent! They have coffee for everyone, really great and friendly staff, a reasonable price. I lived in St Pete and a lot of trendy coffee shops up there run up the bill, so I was thrilled to see a good price. Also went there in the afternoon and grabbed a glass of wine with a friend and it was the perfect way to end an evening. Glad to see a cool new spot downtown. read more

I've been going to Oscura for a year or so now and I cannot state enough how grateful I am to have found such an inclusive, fun place to visit in my home town. I will admit to being initially drawn in by the aesthetic, but what makes the cafe such a phenomenal place to be are it's people and atmosphere. I've made new friends, tried new drinks, and eaten delicious food - but I've also always felt comfortable enough to just go in and read for a bit on my day off. Downtown has very few places. However, as I strolled around I happened upon this gem. Pretty unassuming, the staff is cheery and helpful. The lattes are well done: hot, brisk with a nice espresso flavor. The big surprise was the guava popover. It was later in the day and I had zero expectations. Color me delighted! The turnover had the perfect amount of sugar on top (crispy goodness). The layers were flaky and fabulous. And the guava and cheese- heavenly! Nice job for a quick snack. read more

It's LA meets Manhattan. While during construction, I believed that originally this location was going to be a business related to interior design. I was pleasantly surprised to find it is actually a coffee, craft beer, wine and cafe. From the ambiance to the owners, this is Bradenton's best kept secret. The environment is mid-century modern with natural light shining through the large windows with an open forum layout. It is an ideal place for small and large gatherings of friends, family and coworkers of all ages. The sandwich "Hummus Sandwich," was pure delicious delight as well as the iced tea. And I love that you can also choose an alcoholic beverage. It's Bohemian meets modern chic!! Two thumbs up to these 3 owners. read more

Relatively new coffee shop. Freshly decorated with great music. My husband ordered a latte and in my opinion perfect velvety foam. I had a tea latte and it was everything I dreamed it would be, perfect. They also have a wall full of book you can read and a spot for live music. Cute spot on Manatee ave heading east. Parking available all around the business. Fantastic coffee and pastries! Lovely staff and everything is made fresh to order. They have trivia nights quite often too! If you are looking for a nice cup of coffee or tea and a quiet place to read a book, this accomadates as well. My experience wasn't bad. The employees seemed a little awkward and unfriendly though. I got a Cuban sandwich that smelled and tasted amazing, a little to much mustard. I orders a hot moroccan mint tea, emphasizes on the word hot, not omg I think I have 3rd degree burns. read more
