It's never great to need to see the doctor but this was a follow up. Mrs. K. had a thing done and we're here to make sure that it's all good. And it is! I had heard so many great things about this practice. From their patient management system to the quality care offered by their staff and the general customer service. I found it all to be true. I injured my number 4 toe and my PCP did an X-Ray and said it was a fracture. His office gave me a referral here and I was able to get an appointment right away. My interaction with the CSR on the phone was great. She was very articulate and explained how she would send a link and I could pre-register on-line. She said it would save me from waiting up to 30 me up to 30 minutes as opposed to office check in It was very easy to complete and it was quite comprehensive in the info they collected. On the day of the appointment, I got checked in immediately and was immediately taken to X-Ray. Within another few minutes Dr Sebold had my X-Rays and was into his diagnosis. I was in and out in less than 45 minutes and everything went so smoothly. I found everyone to be very friendly and professional and Dr Sebold was easy to talk to and was quite clear in his recommendation for treatment. The good news is, no surgery but I will have to suffer through life with a 2MM displacement of a fractured toe. Lucky for me, I'm not a foot model. They had no problem mailing me copies of my X-Rays at no charge. They are in a great location, just off I-485 and Park Road. I told the attending nurse, the building looked like an old grocery store. Do you want to be treated like a number/insignificant? Then this place is for you! Made an appointment and they canceled it without talking to me. Claimed they have called and left me a voicemail - I did not have any missed call or VM - but the day before the appointment (after the alleged call) I got a text confirmation for the appointment! When I asked, "You don't try a second call or attempt to speak with the patient before canceling an appointment that could be very important?" Their reply was "Thats how we do things - its always one call." Will never go to this location or anything related to them. Sad medical care is about money and not patient success. Oh to add, when I initially made the appointment I told them what I needed to be see for and they scheduled me with a dr - who suddenly didn't see that body part on the day of arrival. (their excuse for canceling) But I had other concerns thats the dr could of seen me for but they wouldn't budge and honor this appointment. So, I've been in here twice now over the past month and I've decided it's time to write a review. I went to have a cyst removed on my hand. For a separate appointment to have the bunions on my feet checked out and ask some plantar fasciitis questions. I know, I'm 29 and I'm already falling apart. Thirty here I come! Initially I thought my regular doctor set up one appointment for both. That's not on OrthoCarolina - my regular doctor screwed me over. That ended up meaning two separate appointments and (naturally) twice the price. I also found out the doctors specialize so the guy that does hands won't do feet and vice versa. Something to keep in mind. Appointment #1 went smoothly. I immediately got an X-ray done. The doctor talked kind of fast and used words I don't understand. In short it meant: you have a cyst in a common place and we usually stick it with a cortisone shot a few times before resorting to surgery. I got the shot - feels weird - and now it doesn't hurt anymore but the cyst is very much still there. That's kinda weird. They said "give it 6 weeks and it should go down". So we'll see. Appointment #2 for the feet went about the same way. My plantar fasciitis has been gone for a couple weeks but it was bad before. Bunions are genetic for me and surgery is inevitable. They took a lot more X-rays (my feet look pretty neat on the inside). The doctor talked fast and said a lot of things just from looking at the X-ray, some of which I don't really agree with. But who am I? Not the doctor! "Plantar fasciitis is not usually weight related." was the one that stuck out to me. After losing 10-15 lbs I can't imagine it's coincidental that the PF is gone. But whatever. Surgery was put on the table as an option for the bunions - it would make a difference. The one key point here is they leave the decision up to you, the patient. They don't insist ever that you need surgery or a shot or other treatment. Simply: Does it hurt? Does it impact your daily life? If the answer is yes, here are your options... My bunions aren't killing me. Surgery isn't imminent. The cyst definitely needed a cortisone shot though. Like with other doctor's offices, I wish the prices were not so hidden or vague. It would be nice to get a treatment estimate coming in here. Just like if you went in for surgery or brought a car to the shop. I have to imagine there isn't a single price for one X-ray or ten. It probably goes up for each image. Last suggestion: doctors should slow down and give patients time to process what they're hearing and share the background of their situation more. Otherwise, office staff in particular are super friendly and helpful! read more

Unfortunately, I've been here for a few different injuries. The front desk has always been lovely. The waiting area is always clean and so are the bathroom. My gripe is with the care given by specialists. I call it a la carts healthcare. The last time I was here, I had an issue with my elbow, that radiates up to my shoulder and down to my wrist. The nurse told me I was here for the elbow, and would have to make separate appointments for every other piece separately. That's not right to me, but I guess it's the norm. In the end, it's a necessary and I hope to make my visits fewer and more far between read more

I can only say, this being my first visit to this office and I can only compare this with my 2 different NY orthopedic offices and I have to say, this total beats the NY group in a heartbeat . From start to finish from check in to check out. There seemed to be a flow of just in and out like a ocean wave. I didn't have a line of people to fight for in checkin to a 5 min sit in a seat to a quick sit for review of what my evaluation/notes discussion, to a fast turn around for on X-ray, discussion with doctor, receiving s boot, to check out and also getting an appointment with a spine doctor. This is actually a review for the Rock Hill location at 197 Piedmont Blvd Suite 111. I am appalled with my experience there today. I originally called the Pineville location to make an appointment but they had no availability until late October. The receptionist checked and saw that the Rock Hill office had an opening for 4pm. I took it even though it was last minute I was able to arrange to leave work early. I left in enough time to make it at 4 but unfortunately traffic was heavier than I had anticipated. I arrived around 4:15pm signed in and had a seat. The receptionist called me about 5 minutes later once she checked out a customer. There were two up front but the one checking someone out called me. Not sure what that was about. I walked up to the desk and she immediately told me I would have to reschedule as the doctor had somewhere to be today. I stated I had got caught in traffic and work in charlotte. She began to look for other times. I told her not to worry as I had to be sure I could get off work again. I didn't want to argue since I know I made it within the "15 minute" window she advised me of. This is poor customer service granted o was late but it's not like I arrived 10 minutes till 5. I am sure the visit would have taken less than 20 minutes. Plenty of time for the doctor to get to where he needed to go. It's not like I was being seen for free I have health insurance and I am sure they would have been compensated nicely for services rendered. I previously has physical therapy years ago at another office in the same complex and never had any issues. If OrthoCarolina reads this just know you lost a client and I will make sure that everyone I know is aware of my experience and to avoid visiting here at all costs. Especially the rock hill location. I believe I was also brushed off as I was likely the last appointment of the day. I guess they could be bothered so being delayed by traffic was good enough to send me away. read more

If you believe COVID is real and still a threat, AVOID this location. NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY is wearing a mask. Not the front desk staff, not the patients, not the nurses, neither are the doctors. Our doctor (cant remember guys name of the top of my head) wore one, but I'm not sure if he always wears one, or if the nurse told him that we requested it. The guy who was taking the preliminary info took us into the exam room and shut the door. I asked him if he had a mask and he told me no, he did not have one and they were not required to wear one. I asked him to wear one for us and he said he would have to go find one During COVID?? You have to go FIND a mask?? The whole experience was really disturbing and we were super stressed. We only stayed because my husband really needed to be seen. If you are still taking COVID seriously, avoid this place. read more

If you go here with more than one ailment they will tell you they can only treat "one body part" at a time and ask you which "body part" do you want to focus one for that one visit. They will have you make another appointment later for a second "body part". Very inhuman experience. read more

Today I saw Andrew Hylton, PA-C and he was wonderful! I have had some pain in my ankle/foot for a few months and finally got it checked out. I was greeted by a friendly & helpful receptionist, brought back at my appointment time, reviewed my issue with the nurse, taken into x-rays, consulted with Mr. Hylton, and fitted for a boot, all within 30 minutes. I never felt rushed, they are just that organized and prompt. Hopefully I will not have anymore orthopedic problems in the future, but if I did, I would definitely go back and refer friends. read more
