None of the teachers want to be here they are all underpaid and regularly complain about their salary. While I was there I would consistently hear teachers say "I can't answer that that's above my pay grade" or joke about how they can't afford to pay for anything. Many of them were just bullies and put no effort into teaching us. The teachers also have no control over the students with classes being so hectic that lesson plans would get put on pause. If you are a smart student you won't be challenged here, if your a student with learning disabilities you will get NO support. The campus is laughably small and unclean. The buildings are in horrible condition with middle schoolers learning in portable classrooms. In my opinion it kind of feels like they just added the middle school on in the 80's to make more money. The food is horrible but the kids are even worse.

My son's TK experience has been truly above and beyond what we wanted for early childhood education. All the great activities that foster joyful learning, all the field trips, events that bring the community together have been so beautifully thought out and planned, we had no idea this kind of education was even possible for little kids. We were grateful each day when we sent my son to school, because we trusted that he would be well taken care of and have a good time. It meant a lot to us as parents. The teachers cared so much about students' happiness, well-being, and materials they were learning. They truly, genuinely cared, and all the parents of TK students could feel it. Throughout the year, we were constantly impressed by the teachers' willingness to go above and beyond. These teachers are not ordinary teachers who rely on easier field trips or simpler projects. They take kids to the most interesting and enriching places on their field trips, places such as ice skating rinks, beaches, ponds where you can catch tadpoles, senior centers, pumpkin patches, cactus garden, etc. Their creativity and willingness to get messy were also truly inspiring. The TK class built an awe-inspiring life-size whale shark together and had so much fun celebrating Holi. The TK class cooked great lunches and sold them to parents as well. The teachers went an extra mile, even though it meant so much more work for themselves, because they have a genuine passion for sprinkling curiosity and exploration in their students. We also deeply appreciated how they created so many opportunities to recognize diverse cultures and bring families together for events like Diwali and Lunar New Year. They were extra careful to include all of the countries' traditions, which gave my son a sense of belonging and harbored a pride in his heritage. We are immensely grateful and feel incredibly honored that my son had such thoughtful, dedicated, and innovative teachers like them. Knowing he was in their care gave us immense peace of mind. And this review is not just about TK teachers at Synapse. Everyone we met at Synapse has been genuinely nice and down to earth. All the teachers, staff, students and parents formed such a warm, wonderful community.

Most of them have been there for many years and they hold certifications beyond just the typical teacher. They use the Montessori method and and well trained in the curriculum. Montessori works really well for my son because it allows him to be independent and self-directed. But the teachers also push him to try new things and explore different interests. The tuition is on a sliding scale, but even the highest tier is competitively priced as far as preschools in the area and they work with you to see if your family qualifies for any assistance. As far as I'm concerned it's the best deal around for quality child care and preschool education. They have also done an amazing job following all of the COVID regulations. I highly recommend CMLC!

He was referred by the preschool director to multiple psychologists who all said he was a "normal age appropriate child". We are dealing with financial debt and continued counseling to help my son rebuild his confidence and trying to help him want to go to school again. We had to transfer schools in hopes he would be happy again. That said, the upper educational grades (6-8) is fantastic. The teachers are engaging and supportive. The sports program is also wonderful. If you want to put your kids here, i would recommend starting them after 1st grade and skip the preschool program.

Within days of joining both kids felt safe, comfortable, and included. All of the kids are friends, it is a small school in the best way, like a big uninhibited family. The teachers help to support and ensure this by designing community rituals that often involve singing and mindfulness and by masterfully coaching them through conflicts and differences. The teachers are exceptional, they meet the kids at eye level in such a calm, clear, and respectful way. The K/1 teacher is rarely standing, she's sitting with them, next to them, leaning in and listening. They feel it. It is a teacher-owned and teacher-led school. The philosophy is so aligned. All of the teachers believe in integrated learning, seeing educational opportunities in the interests of the kids by encouraging and observing their everyday play. My daughter's interest in gardening manifested in the creation of a new work job for which her teacher procured new equipment and thoughtfully developed tasks. The collective class interest in grass turned into a scientific exploration of grass structures with microscopes, diagrams, and artistic renderings. The curriculum is ever-changing and thus incredibly adaptive and relevant. The teachers re-write the whole thing every year. Twice a year they produce new plays with original lines, songs, choreography, costumes, and hand-made props. They introduce new themes, new projects, and new units. They make almost everything by hand with the kids. The kids cook feasts, weave tapestries, cobble together inventions, set up experiments, and test out their ideas. No iPad apps. They learn to type so that they can write and create. The vibe of the school is inspired and focused. The class sizes are small and distractions are brilliantly managed. The kids work incredibly hard. They have long blocks of time to get into deep work during the day. No homework. And yet, they're academically thriving.

They have lots of field trips that the whole school will attend together, there is a small garden in the campus, so the kids are pretty close to the nature. There are two big drama plays every year and everyone will participate. They do mindfulness meditation every morning. They make some stories together (such as everyone plays a role in a tribe). They practice public speech even from kindergarten. There is a lot of fun and plays there, and kids can learn and grow from those activities. Tru is not like a traditional school. It provides a versatile experience for students, and integrates the learning from projects and plays. It is great for child's development.
