I LOVE this place. Great home made Italian food at an affordable price! The Drive-Thru is the BEST part of it all. I have two kids so drive-thru's are my thing! Sadly, this place is only 1/4th what it used to be... 1/4the the quality, less than 1/4th the portion size. The restaurant was completely empty during the lunch hour and the order took over 20-minutes even though we called in and placed the order before arriving. The marinara sauce tastes like a can of tomato paste... a frozen dinner eggplant parmesan from the grocery store would be better than what you get here now. They were not stocked for making this dish two times before - I wish I hadn't given them another chance. Tried this place through Uber eats, customer service was horrible! I called to ask why I didn't receive a salad like it's specified in the menu description. And there was no plastic ware and soda was flat. The rude lady who answered the phone gives me an attitude and says "well I'm not a mind reader what did you want me to do?" At this point I think to myself ok don't try this place again and hang up. She then calls me back to argue.. I tell her there's no plastic ware or napkins and soda was flat. She goes on and tells me "well I have been serving it all day and no one has said anything, if you want the salad come pick it up" I used Uber eats cause my car is in the shop.. I am sure glad I did. it was awesome, and huge. comes with 2 pieces of garlic bread, and a drink. all for 6.95. budget lunch that tastes fantastic. I also ordered a burger and fries for my daughter. she isn't a fan of Italian. I would call it a mistake but that's my fault for ordering an american classic at an Italian restaurant. so I can't knock them for that. my only one suggestion would be either to not over sauce the lasagna, or find a better container that seals tight. my sauce spilled out of my container and into the second bag. at least the double bagged it, just in case. thank you Mona Lisa... read more

My visit was in 9/2017. The service was good and the place was very clean. However the food food was just ok. Pretty low quality. There wasn't enough seasonings in the meat sauce. And not enough cheese. It wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't go back. It was closer to cafeteria quality. read more

The food is a 5 star! I only gave 4 stars due to the informal dining room, but, I could care less about that. It's clean and delish! This is the best Italian food in Reflands and the prices are great! The marinara is classic and the meat sauce is rich and tasty. The antipasto salad is fresh and full of meats and cheese. Do yourself a favor and try this place out! You can eat in or take out. The dining area is just a place to sit and eat, much like a mom and pop's burger place. It's not fancy, but the food is great. This place is a hidden gem! It is located a little off the beaten path from where I usually spend my time which is why I only just recently tried it. The atmosphere makes me think of an expanded version of a NYC pizza joint. As you enter, you go straight to the counter and place your order with the lovely ladies working there and at first glance you think there's nothing else to the restaurant until you look a little closer for the eating room off to the right. I had the eggplant parmesan which was delicious! I was surprised that it didn't come with any pasta. My wife had an order of spaghetti, pretty standard. Foods ok, service sucks, twice I've gone through the drive thru and I have to go inside because either the teenagers are too busy hanging in the parking lot or the owner is on the phone with her friend going on and on...the owner had to ask me to repeat myself because she was chatting away and made a comnent the ice machine was loud because she was on the phone with an obvious personal call, she messed up the persons order when she actually answered the drive thru, then out loud so I could hear it called the other customer difficult, and told me it was because I was getting ice that she didn't hear the other costomer, I used to love it there, but on the service alone I'm done. Tip to manager, wait until you don't have customers to pkan your party weekend in LA, and don't bad mouth your customers TO OTHER CUSTOMERS, or blame them for you messing the order up. read more

I can't say that this place was wonderful, or can't say that it was horrible, thus the two stars, because I have experienced better. I went here with a friend since so many people raved about Monalisa, ordered, two sandwiches for lunch (one small italian cold cuts, one small meatball sub and a half order of garlic bread). The garlic bread was tasty but it reminded me of frozen garlic bread, still pretty good though. The subs were okay, they were kind of stingy on the meatballs, they were all split in half. There was nothing that stood out and I don't think I'll be going back. The restaurant was very old and reminded me of 1980's restaurants and with really old furniture. It was allright. I had a spaghetti and meatball dinner that included a free drink and garlic bread. It came to about $8 and some change. I can't complain about the volume at all. It was enough food for two people, and I had to push myself to finish it. I've apparently been watching too much Man vs. Food. This made me sad. Since the ownership change the menu has made a steady downward turn. We used to always ordered from here for board meetings as the lasagna and pasta dishes were crowd pleasers and authentically Italian. However since we lost the original owner we no longer are served by the same (somewhat surly but in a "because we're family" sort of way) waitress. The dishes are now much more Americanized and barely average. I even found a hair in the last lasagna- barf. Although we stopped ordering for meetings we would still drive through for a crusty bread cheese sammie. However yesterday we were so disappointed that now the sandwiches are terrible too. They have doubled the cheese, ditched the shredded lettuce, and use a sad, deflated, mushy, store brand hoagie roll. We finally realized that it is time to say "good bye" and morn the Original Mona Lisa. It doesn't exist anymore. It has been replaced by another below average pseudo Italian dive. read more

I like this place a lot. My 6 yr old loves the spaghetti. I usually always order Italian here, well the other day I got their cheeseburger, home made patty, fresh lettuce, fresh tomato, fresh onion, even had bell pepper on it, 2 slices of cheese, and yes pickles... What a delight, honestly a great burger and gives places like nicks a run for their money... Try the cheese burger, trust me. Now... I've had their meatball sub, lasagna, spaghetti and I must say for best Italian drive thru ever, not that I've had many Italian drive thrus but this spot is very very well run, despite some of the reviews.... As a foodie, I get excited when I find some place like Mona Lisa. It's menu is so good, and the fact that they have a drive-thru is so accessible, it makes going there. We have been going to Mona Lisa for years and always appreciated their quality of service. They always tried in the past to go "above and beyond," but lately that seems to have changed. I don't know if the business is under new management or what, but it seems now that they have a whole new staff, none of whom I know or recognize. The woman who used to give us such special treatment is now gone and the quality of the food seems to have gone with her, as it has decreased somewhat, along with the service. The spaghetti is still very good, but I was shocked today to discover that the garlic bread seemed to have shrunk and was made with a soggy submarine sandwich bun in lieu of the usual nice fresh Italian bread. On top of that, the portions now are nowhere near as generous as they used to be. The side salad was only a handful of iceberg lettuce topped by one sad little slice of tomato. With two orders of spaghetti, we were given only four flimsy little pieces of what was really nothing more than buttered toast. I couldn't even taste the garlic; and as I mentioned before, this so-called "garlic bread" was really nothing more than four pathetic little slices of soggy buttered sandwich bread that they must have had left over from earlier in the day. Since we have been longtime repeat customers, the former manager always used to greet us and give us impressive slices of real garlic bread, and it actually was genuine garlic bread too in those days. We were excited to try this place because there is a drive through and there is limited Italian food places in Redlands. They initially gave us the wrong order and could not repeat what we originally ordered. We waited at the drive through window for 20 minutes. I knocked on the window and the staff said they were slammed. I looked inside to see no one In the restaurant and one car behind me. There was no apology for the long wait. My pasta was semi warm with no meat that I had ordered and the sauce didn't taste fresh. The mozzarella sticks tasted like they were frozen and refried. Disappointed in the customer service and food. My husband & I think their food is very good. It is also very reasonably priced. We use it for large crowds at our home, the spaghetti is the bomb. So is there garlic bread. This place is amazing. Great food - wonderful owner (Denise). I went today for the eggplant sandwich. They were out of eggplant. I asked if they could just make some kind of vegetarian sandwich for me. She did and it was really, really good. I wish it was a regular option on the menu. I had been going to Nicks Burgers for my veggie sandwiches - but this sandwich was so much better. Denise is always so accommodating. She treats her employees well and bends over backwards for them.
