Great new coffee shop on MLK. Spacious. Modern. Serve single origin coffee exclusively. Best of all, they offer coffee brewed as pour over, my favorite brew method. Pour Over is simple (pour water over ground coffee) but pulls out the most complex flavors from the beans. They have an automated pour over machine, which adds complexity to process and I can't comment on how well it brews a cup because it was broken (did I mention the extra complexity?). They made pour over by hand for me which tasted great (hand made pour over is the traditional method). COFFEE Today's single origin selections were Ethiopia and Colombia. I chose Ethiopia (the clear choice) which was acidic and offered a wonderful lime flavor (natural to bean). PASTRIES Staff was friendly. Location is away from tourist areas (targets local crowds). read more

Every time I go, the man with the septum piercing has been very rude. It's not just me, my friends have also had unpleasant experiences with him. My order wasn't made for 30 minutes, he said "I have a long list of orders, I'll get to yours after I finish" then I had to remind him 20 minutes later. That's 50 minutes.... No drink. read more

TLDR version: The Miel? Delicious! The Chai? Super tasty! The vibes?! Immaculate! The staff? Wonderful. Truly 10/10, all around! Top notch, brand new coffee joint on the west side of Sav! While in line, I caught a glimpse at the merch and candles; the Awaken espresso candle smelled heavenly! Talked to the husband owner while ordering, and not only did he take the extra second to actually greet us and make conversation, but even after the transaction was complete, he kept the conversation going, which seemed like a very nice gesture even though there were others in line behind us. Incredibly personable and friendly fella. The wife owner was killing it too, delivering drinks to tables & also greeting guests. Probably one of the busiest and craziest days of their lives, as today was the soft opening, but I hope they took a second to sit back and admire what they've created. Bright, vibrant, coffee shop. Good for remote work, meeting with a friend, or grabbing a quick bite. There are some tables/counter seating in the corner I had to take a work call in without creating much disturbance. The salmon lox was fire. Drip coffee is great - they have 2 roast options for drip + 1 free refill. Staff is very friendly and approachable if you have questions. Clean space, clean bathrooms, chill music. Overall great vibes. read more

Wonderful coffee shop! Per usual, my boyfriend had a cortado, and he loved it! I had English Breakfast tea, I didn't love it, but the food and atmosphere made up for my below average tea. We both had the All-American breakfast plate. Simple and classic. The sourdough toast was SO YUM! The space is very welcoming and the modern sleek design is beautiful! Very welcoming to hangout. They have couches, round table booths, and high top counter space. Something for everyone. The baristas were all very friendly and chatty. Nice open airy coffee shop with a real modern feel. My wife had a latte and I had mocha late. Both were very good and the coffee art was pretty impressive. I had a ham and cheese croissant which was delicious. The service was pretty basic with ordering at a point of sale and your name called when they were ready. Beautiful interior and tranquil setting, plus very dedicated and friendly staff. I only had an iced tea here so I cannot speak to their coffee drinks but the tea was brewed to order then iced and was quite good. They have a good and diverse selection of food as well, mostly leaning towards breakfast/brunch. When I visited in the early afternoon the coffeeshop was busy with SCAD students studying for their finals and workers from local businesses. Just when you could honestly say Savannah didn't exactly need another coffeehouse, Origin proves you wrong! read more

One of the best coffee shops in town! As someone that WFH and wants an occasional space to read a book, this is the perfect space. I love the modern, fresh decor. The lighting is airy and bright. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable about what to recommend. I think I have had everything on the menu and there is not one thing I don't recommend. My morning go-to is always the Mendez burrito with a side of tomato basil soup, and 2 shots of espresso. Sometimes, I am daring and dive into the Bisbee bowl. Found this coffee bar while in town working on a film and have come every morning because I love it so much. The Toasted Caprese is amazing! Coffee is so delicious too. It's the best dirty chai I've ever had. I made a mistake and went to Savannah Coffee Roasters down the street to try something new and immediately regretted it. My iced dirty chai from SCR is sitting in the car and I'm sitting at Origin with their Dirty chai in hand and the difference is incredible. So good! I also love the energy, ambiance and staff here. I've been getting coffee here for about a year (an iced chai to be exact) and it is so so so good. I also love their coffee cake muffins. Everything I've had here has been really good. Today I went in to do some work on my computer and got a bacon and egg sandwich and an iced chai. I got my sandwich but after 20 minutes of no drink I eventually went up and asked and they said they had forgotten to make it. They made it right away and gave me a coupon for a free drink. Got to drop by this morning and give this new coffee shop a try and they did not disappoint. This location is a new one from when they used to be at the Clyde venue. They have a clean and sustainable approach to their food and coffees. They make their own bread from their dishes and they have their own hydroponics type grower for all their herbs for their foods. The coffee offerings are delicious and allow most to have what they enjoy. They have also started making drinks with a bar style approach like their golden hour or Eden's tonic which I'm looking forward to trying. The owners are a true delight and made my experience even better being able to talk with them and see the desire they have to connect with the community. Got to try their toasted caprese sandwich and their Alaska Heat sandwiches and I'm telling you they were absolutely need to buy items. Tons of flavor and all ingredients including the cream cheese shmeers are made in house! This is a gem in the city and one I'm looking forward to going back to a lot! read more

I've been going to origin since it was located inside the Clyde Venue. I came for the coffee and auspicious pastries, and I stayed for the vibes. The new location is an *AMAZING* upgrade. Hands down the coolest decor for a coffee shop in Savannah; they have semi-circular booths, 2 person tables, a wall of street view with seating along it, a comfy leather couch and 2 huge comfy chairs, and a couple of super cool swing chairs. JULU's muted design on the wall complements the rest of the decor perfectly. Origin continues to serve up delicious cups of coffee (the best you can get around town). The staff is incredibly friendly and cheerful. Definitely stop by! read more

Incredibly good! Expresso pours are out of this world! The pourovers pull out subtle flavors, which is sometimes hit or miss. Absolutely a great place to sit on the laptop for a stretch and work on the laptop. Morning that clean chique look than a comfortable groovy dive. Huge windows letting in lots of light. Had one of the best coffees of my life here!! I have not stopped thinking about it since I got it. Their menu is seasonal so I believe it's no longer available but trust in their concoctions. We are a husband and wife team that is dedicated to serving up excellent caffeinated experiences. When we got married, we searched high and low for a mobile coffee bar to no avail; this was the initial inspiration for Origin. With a resume of creative entrepreneurship, there was not much holding us back. We love people, we love coffee, and we love a good party. In our lives, we wanted to intersect our love of coffee and desire to serve the needs of our community. That’s why a portion of our proceeds and our time go to serving our houseless community in Savannah, GA. It is our joy to serve a variety of events in Savannah and throughout the United States. I was running around in the historic district and decided to pop in to The Coffee Fox - Louisville (TCFL) for a pick-me-up and snack and checked it out on their opening day! - Parking - Private lot. - Vibe - It is smaller than their first location, but the space is beautiful and bright. The focal point of the space is the coffee bar and it is stunning. They commissioned a Savannah native, an artist who goes by the name of JuLu (you've probably seen her work before all around town) to paint the body of the bar. When you see her work, you know it's her. There is a striking red espresso machine, floating shelves on the wall behind the coffee bar, and the furniture, simple and classic. Their cream and sugar station is super cool too. Has the look of old deposit boxes or those library index card system things. I don't know if the drawers actually open, but really neat looking. In terms of seating, for now, there are 2 chairs with a coffee table in one corner and a large dining table to seat larger groups that occupies most of the space. Management informed me that they were getting a counter top that they will be installing in the near future for the back wall for people flying solo. I have a feeling that this location will become one of those secret spots, locals only type places to escape the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas and especially a quiet place to get your work done! - TLC - Management was really nice and excited to finally be open. I was the only customer in at the time, so service was quick, efficient and super friendly. - Eats / Refreshments - From what I can see, all the things I have ordered in the past at all of their sister locations (original The Coffee Fox, Foxy Loxy, Henny Penny, Fox & Fig) are all on the menu at this location. Definitely their most popular items anyway. They also use Perc Coffee and they have a small showcase of baked goods from their bakery, Henny Penny, for all of their locations. They had a limited selection today of muffins and kolaches, about 2 flavors of each. It is opening day, so I'm sure the quantities and variety will change as the amount of traffic increases. Matcha Latte - I don't know why I haven't ever had this before at any of their locations, but this is definitely my new favorite! I ordered it with whole milk and it came with a pretty milk foam art design on top. Matcha can be pretty bitter, but it was just the right amount. Zucchini Muffin - It is no secret that I love the stuff that Henny Penny Cafe dishes out (can I get an Amen on their vegan donuts?!). I just love how wholesome all of their items taste, like a recipe your mom would make. I loved how dense this muffin was and it was delicious. I devoured it in the car as I drove back home. Definitely off the beaten path, but worth seeking for quality and consistency of product you get at any of the Foxy locations and especially if you want to get away from the traffic in the historic district. I was so excited to give it a try when I confirmed it was related to the original Coffee Fox. This location quickly became my favorite place to grab coffee. The staff here are phenomenal. They are friendly and really take pride in their work. The coffee is always wonderful. I usually get my go to Horchata Latte. I love it hot and I love it iced so that just depends on the weather. The food is also amazing. I have tried a little of everything and it is all fantastic. I almost don't want to write this review because right now I feel like this is my hidden little gem. There is never a wait to get my coffee and food when I go by there at 7:30AM. (They are open M-F 7:00-1:00)
