The place is small. There was a table outside for 2 people and a bar kind of an area at the window with two chairs as well. The owner is very friendly. He has the shop for the last 15 years. It's his second shop. One thing to consider is that they only have turkey mean (not the traditional lamb). Nevertheless, it was delicious.

Right off the main drag, it's far enough away from the touristy stuff to have some character and isn't stuffed with people. The lamb kebab was done well, very juicy and flavorful. It came with a fairly ambiguous rice and a veggie mouse that was amazing. Our appetizer sampler plate came with a rainbow of spreads including a super yummy hummus, two yogurts (mint and paprika), egg plant puree that was the plate favorite and a few small neebles. We didn't get to try the dessert because they fed us well. Would definitely come back.

There aren't too many restaurants in the area to begin with, since Eschenbach is pretty small. As an American staying at a nearby hotel, they saved me many times because they are open late & everyday...and their food is cheap & portion plentiful! (At least for me) I do like their seasoning of meat & condiments, better than one place I went in Grafenwöhr & another in Bayreuth (though I knew the one in Bayreuth wasn't the best one when I went). Like someone else said, it can get a bit saucey, so be careful if you have to eat in your car.
