It started to sprinkle rain as we pulled up to park, but that clearly didn't stop people from picking strawberries as we saw a family walk away with baskets and baskets of strawberries. The girl at the U Pick Stand was the sweetest walking us through the different types of baskets to choose from, the cost, and the process before we were set free to pick our berries! There were SO many strawberry fields and so many good juicy strawberries to choose from! My toddler, my husband, and I had a blast even in the rain! My only regret was not picking more because when I finally ate one - it was quite frankly one of the best strawberries I've ever had. On our way back to the car, we noticed the blueberry farm. They looked like they were almost ready for blueberry u-pick season and sure enough, a week later they were open! I wanted to see what they had in their little market, so we pulled up front and I saw they had strawberry donuts for sale! I grabbed half a dozen and both my husband and I devoured one as soon as I got back in the car. The next few days, I air fried them to reheat them and they were EVEN BETTER. So fluffy, airy, and full of strawberries! We can't wait to come back in the future.

I'll be looking to become a Full Shareholder ($800 full season, weekly share that includes Family admission ticket to strawberry ice cream social, 1 Flat you-pick strawberries, Fall harvest dinner) or Half Shareholder ($450 for every week) in November/December so I'm ready for the full summer! Soil Friends also offers a flexible payment plan, which makes it a bit more affordable Payments can be made on your terms as long as the share is paid in full before the first CSA share is distributed for the year. In the meantime, I've been following all their fantastic Facebook updates. They have hard cider now (very tasty and not too sweet) as well as donuts. But, I stopped by today for some produce (green beans, jalapenos, and watermelon)! I was very tempted to buy ALL the things as the produce looked so fresh and beautiful! The space is also very family friendly with corn hole, ample seating & kids' play equipment. I can see why their socials, dinners could be very lively and fun. Soil Friends also posts up at the Kalamazoo Farmers' Market! But, it's worth a drive out to their farm in Augusta! 207/365

They really had a beautiful farm stand full of items from their organic farm. 2) A summer supper in their culinary greenhouse - In the summer time, they offer this Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday - all updated times on their website. But, evening agenda is: 6:30 PM ET Welcome Beverage in the School House 6:45 PM ET Farm Tour Leaves 7:15 PM ET Dinner in the Greenhouse We ended up getting rained out so we learned all about the farm in the school house. But, there's signage all out in the farm so you can wander, explore. We had a beautiful dinner - which btw the Greenhouse IS air conditioned. I wasn't sure. Anyways we had a beautiful dinner and I'll list my menu as a sample, but I am sure yours will be different and equally as wonderful: *Cool Farm Kale Chips *Cherry Tomato (Radish, Pickled Pearl Onion, Cured Salmon, Arugula Microgreens) *Crispy Rice Salad (Kale, Cabbage, Cucumber, Carrot, Pickled Green Strawberry, Tahini Dressing) *Semolina Gnocchi (Eggplant Caponata, Cotija) *Roasted Chicken and Kohlrabi (Olive Chimichurri, Apricot) *Basil Custard (Pistachio Toffee, Black Raspberry, Fried Basil) Fun fact - Granor is portmanteau of the founders' daughters name: Grace + Eleanor! So precious.
