Didn't want to give this place a chance due to the reviews but desperately needed my lawn mower and chainsaw fIxed so I went in. The woman behind the counter was friendly and really knew her stuff. She told me she was the new manager and things were going to be changing. The older gentlemen working there was very nice and super helpful. My equipment was fixed in no time. Charged $65 to look at my saw, and told me that the piston was scored and the parts would be too much to fix the chainsaw. Took it up the road to another repair shop and they fixed it for $16.59. It was an air line that was cracked. That price INCLUDED labor! You have been for-warned! read more

Orange Saws, Eagleville Rd, Orange ---- Now under new ownership. VCS- Vegetation Control Service located on Main Street, Athol. I brought my snowblower there on November 4 for a basic service (oil change, tune up)..... I called them 2 weeks later to find out where it stood to be told, "it's on the service floor so it will be done soon"... I wasn't overly concerned it was only two weeks and there wasn't a forecast of snow. I called again yesterday, December 7, to be put on hold... The very rude woman came back and said she couldn't find my service work order and asked what it was on for..... Put me on hold again then said "it hasn't been done yet" and proceeded to give m all kinds of excuses as to why. I let her know I was disappointed, that a MONTH should have been more than enough time for an oil change and now there was snow forecast.......and we ended the conversation. I thought about it and called back. Told her that we would pick it up and not to do anything to it. When we arrived, she was not there and the person working had no idea that we were even coming. He said he wasn't surprised; that this happens a lot now. We took it to Ralph Stoddard ( who this company let go from employment when they took over) and will be picking it up tonight. Imagine, a ONE DAY turn around for an oil change!! I highly recommend Mr. Stoddard and will gladly give his number to anyone who wants it. (I have his blessing to do so). read more

Long story short many months of calls and 60.00 deposit waste of time and money gt a bunch off parts back in a box couldn't diagnose a problem without trying many parts honesty think there just trying to keep people's saws by giving up don't waste your time people on phone we're useless too ! read more

Almost 3 months for a carburetor replacement on my dads ride on mower. Yard full of leaves and now snow / ice. $200.00 for a $35.00 PART AND AN HOUR OF LABOR. Wish i looked at the past comments sooner. Its all true, do not go here! read more

I am extremely unhappy with the service, etc. I dropped off my lawn mower on May 14, because it would not start. I had to pay $65 deposit. I was told that the business was backed up at present so it would be 2 weeks. I waited the 2 weeks and called. I was told they hadn't gotten it looked at yet. I called back in a couple days and was told it was just going into the shop for evaluation. I called back 3 days later on the weekend and a man told me it was just going into the shop for evaluation then. I waited another week, calling back on June 6. At this point, the woman (Anna) told me that a new carburetor was required and was on order. She assured me that it should be in in a day or two and I should have my mower by the weekend. Today, it is 4 weeks to the day since they had my machine. I called again. This time, Anna informed me that the carb had not been delivered yet. She was very snippy and told me more than once that she had no control over deliveries. I called again 4 hours later to see if it had come in today. She rudely informed me that no deliveries had come in yet. I told her I wanted my mower back and my deposit refunded. She rudely told me she could not refund the deposit because the mower had been "looked at". I drove over to pick up the mower and asked for an itemized bill showing how the $65 had been applied. She pretended to look it up, but then said there was no invoice since no work had been completed, but that the deposit was not coming back to me. I took the machine to a Mr. Stoddard in Athol. I dropped it off at 1:45 p.m. At 2:30, he called to tell me the mower was all set. The needle valve in the carburetor had come loose for some reason, and he reconnected it. Total cost: $43 - repair took 45 minutes! I would expect the return of the deposit of $65 since nothing was done to the mower. Mr. Stoddard said they couldn't have opened up the carburetor at all or they would have seen the needle valve's disconnection. Rest assured I will be telling all I can that they should avoid this business because they are not honest, have no worthy mechanics, never mind the rude woman at the desk and dispicable customer service.
