Within a week's time I was hounded (no exaggeration) day and night by phone, sometimes receiving several calls in a row, before 9AM and some even after 7PM. Once my husband and I finally returned the call of "agent" Doug Moore, we had a great conversation where he asked us questions about our situation, but then quoted us an insane rate of $4500 to resolve our tax issues and insulted us and became aggressive when my husband told him we needed a day to talk this over. $4500 is a lot of money to sign off on in just one phone conversation. After we got a second and third opinion, we discovered that despite our situation, this is an absurd amount of money to pay to receive help. We've found someone that will meet with us face to face in person, quoted us a quarter the amount they did and that don't use fear tactics and threatening tones when discussing an already frustrating situation. I emailed to tell him that we are going another route, and as expected, he responded very unprofessionally. The very next day, I received calls and an email from yet another "agent" named Claude Charles II who like Doug, used a very threatening tone and when I responded asking him to please remove our account and never ever contact us again, he again responded in a way that appalled my husband and me! I cannot imagine how this approach has worked for them! THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS FOR TAX HELP! Look for a trusted CPA who is qualified as an "enrolled agent" and find your peace of mind there! In my opinion, they take advantage of people in the South Asian (desi) community who don't know a lot about taxes. They act like they are doing you a big favor, but they don't explain things properly and don't stay updated with tax laws. Honestly, you can use something like ChatGPT to understand your taxes better than they can. I recommend finding someone else who is honest and knows what they're doing.
