First time here today- my previous barber shop suddenly closed for good. I like this barber shop a…read morelot. There is a separate waiting area with plenty of chairs, and walk-ins are welcome (of course customers who made reservations get first service). They have five barber's chairs and they were all full, but the three of us who didn't have appointments got in, I would estimate, in around 20 minutes. From my observation the barbers all have mad skills. The gentleman who cut my hair, well, he was like Edward Scissorhands. I've never seen anyone with the skills and speed he displayed cutting my hair, with little snippets of hair flying all around us. It was truly amazing. None of that matters if I didn't like my cut, but it's in the top 2 or 3 I've ever had. It'd probably be #1, but I'm giving points for degree of difficulty to earlier cuts when I had a lot more hair, and it was often pretty long. So bottom line is Rocky's will be my new barber shop, hopefully for a long time.

There's something about the barber's initial usage of the clippers that tells you everything you need to know about the cut. There's a lot that goes into this experience. The ambiance of the barbershop is crucial. A professional environment is so much better than one that doesn't prioritize looking, sounding, and being professional. Do the children have to listen to explicit lyrics in the songs played or what's displayed on tv? Do the barbers maintain a code of respect with what and how they communicate - or is everyone dropping F bombs every minute? I'm getting older. Peace matters. Professionalism matters. Excellence matters. Timeliness matters. Where I spend my money matters. If I am paying $50+ for each cut, I should get more than a nice haircut, I should get an entire quality experience!! I didn't have the cash and my ATM card was cracked and would not work in the nearest machine a minute away. He told me he'd cut my hair anyway and I could pay him the next week. That was nice! It turned out to be one of the best, if not best, haircut I've ever received. I've been back three times and will continue to go there while working in Connecticut. I was told by my boyfriend that he was told he would have to pay for another haircut to have the sides trimmed with a 3 guard, since he was done. He was also told that my bonus boy should have spoke up before the haircut was done. Tell me how my boy would know how it was going to look before it's done? The manager also got involved and told my boyfriend the same thing. My boyfriend told them, either it gets fixed or he wasn't paying. He was told to leave and he would be blacklisted. There was no "sorry" or "how could we make it right?" Poor management and poor service.
