We decided to send him with the help of our school district, his psychiatrist, and other mental health professionals that have been involved in his therapy over the last 10 years. It was an extremely difficult decision to make, and an extremely emotional time. It's definitely one of the hardest decisions I've had to make over 38 years of being a Mom. I decided to stop listening to all the negative things being- (it felt like at the time), gleefully "thrown" at me by mostly well- meaning people. As I've already stated, it was a really hard thing to have to decide, but we were at a place where something drastic needed to be done to help our son! He had almost completely stopped leaving the house, he was depressed, his anxiety had skyrocketed, and he'd stopped attending school. We'd tried EVERYTHING! Nothing was working anymore. I'm so happy to report that he has done an almost complete turn around in 10 months! We are so pleased at the work that his awesome therapist, teachers, and other staff at Logan River have put in to help him become the independent, funny, quirky young man that we knew was locked up inside himself! After attending two parent seminars at the school, (which is beautiful, in my opinion) and having countless Skype sessions with him and his therapist- and numerous phone calls with our son, I can confidently recommend this school to other parents out there that I know are in similar situations!

This place made me lose my identity due to their abuse and demands. You had to put on a fake mask just in order to leave. Control control control. Let me start first by saying they don't tell you everything upfront. I had recently used their services for a family member. I was told this person needed individual and group sessions. You are required to pay for group sessions upfront. What they don't tell you is if you decide to pull someone out of group you are not refunded any money you pay upfront. I had to pay $750 for 4 months of group plus $150 for a journal and a binder. After pulling this person out I was told I should receive a check in the mail for the difference. This check has never arrived and they have been trying to avoid me. I would not bring anyone there unless you have money to throw away.

He told us we had to agree to disagree. It wasn't until several counselors later, someone who used the attachment based counseling by Sue Johnson (Hold me Tight), that we figured out how to be emotionally closer. There was major mother enmeshment going on and Summit counseling did not catch it, just said it was ok for the mother in law not to like the wife and for the son to be close to the mother, even though it hurt his relationship with his wife. It wasn't until a counselor started to untangle that mess and showed the verbal and emotional abuse that was going on, that changes started. Summit counseling should have suggested reading Lundy Bancrofts books and Kenneth Adams. That would have pinpointed the problem. Summits counseling unfortunately was a total waste of money.
