I went to this OPSM just over two years ago to get an eye test and get a new pair of glasses. I remember being satisfied with the whole procedure from the eye test, to picking out the frames and then finally picking up my glasses. It all went smoothly and was relatively timely. A few months ago, I was sent a friendly reminder that the two year mark had been reached and that it was time for my next eye test. There was a new optometrist when I went in for my latest eye test. He was young, matter-of-fact and obviously a very competent optometrist. After the test, he explained my results to me in great detail, more detail than other optometrists have ever explained my results to me, which I was very grateful for. It was interesting and useful to learn new things about the condition of my eyes. And the things he told me I felt were important details, and I kind of can't believe my previous optometrists had never explained these things to me. My vision had not deteriorated further and therefore I didn't need new glasses, which is good news because their in-store range was really quite uninspiring. However, I've decided to go for contact lenses though so I'll be back in to pick those up in the next few weeks. read more

very poor customer service today. I had received at least 3 letters over last few months to remind me to have my eyes checked. I finally booked in an appointment today, informing the staff that I had very little flexibility as I travel significantly with work. My appt was at 4.30 pm. I received a call at 4.05 pm to say that another customer had an emergency so they would need to cancel my appointment and could I reschedule? No apology no level of understanding about my situation. While I understand the need to be 'bumped' due to an emergency, I would have appreciated an apology and some level of empathy re how challenging it might be to make another appt. All I get was a giggle on the other end of the phone. Clearly very poor customer service by Emma! Her inappropriate laughter and attitude has deterred me from returning to this business!
