I've tried 3 of the specialty classes - motivating and fun! Yoga practice is exceptional - the sessions are excellent and thoughtful - my flexibility is up and my stress level is down. Nutrition program is relatively new and I haven't taken full advantage, but you can use as much or as little as you want; I take recipe ideas and short term challenges that help motivate me. I've recently become a fan of green drinks, which I would never have done on my own! Useful info on healthy lifestyle, graceful aging and life balance. I've been an Express Fitness member for over a decade. A previously great gym, I have grown…read morefrustrated with how the parent gym, Executive, seems eager to find ways to nickle and dime members, advertise disingenuously, and how staff attention has waned. Many gyms seem to have a cost model of a sign-up fee plus monthly charge. At New Year, to entice potential customers, the start-up fee is often waived. However, Express is the only gym I know which has started to carry this supplemental forward year after year. When is a $29.99/monthly fee really a $34.16 monthly fee? When they tack a hidden $50 "maintenance fee" onto your account at yearly renewal time. It's slimy fake advertising. If you have issues with credit card numbers getting stolen, Express will want to charge you for that, too. The second time my billing card was compromised and account number changed, Express issued a $35 charge for a bounced $24.99 charge (monthly fee at the time) against a closed card. This fee was $10 more than the actual charge that bounced! Do you want to use the top row lockers so you're not hunched over using the bottom row lockers? Express will want to charge you a rental fee for that, too. The parent gym, Executive, actually locks all the top row lockers so you're forced to use the bottom ones. "Hunch over for health?" In fairness, they're not yet all locked in Hooksett. A friend left Express in 2016 when they instituted the "maintenance fee" and speaks quite highly of his Planet Fitness membership at half the price. Staff there is always out and about cleaning up and organizing equipment, a refreshing change from the mess that sometimes greets late day visitors at Express. (Express also has at least one slob member who trims his beard and leaves the trimmings around the sink which may sit there for hours. This has gone on for years.) There are some pluses. There is new equipment starting in 2018. There is free childcare with ample toys. Care quality varies by employee, however: sometimes there is interactive child engagement, sometimes a student is busy doing homework while the TV provides entertainment. Regardless, I am very happy Express has a nut-free policy. If you care about building functional full-body strength and balance, doing things like barbell squats and dead-lifts are a key training component you can do at Express. Planet Fitness is all about machines so you'd miss those there. I used to love Express, now I sound like crotchety old man describing it. I still go because it's the closest place I can lift heavy weights once or twice a week. I try to work around the class schedule, since many group exercise instructors blast class music so it's louder than the ambient music in the rest of the gym. My "light" days are now at home with a doorway pull-up bar, Bowflex adjustable dumbbells, and an incline bench. A few small fixes, and some integrity in the billing office, would be all it would take to make Express great again.

I felt reassured right away that I was at the right place with the right people. The professional, thorough, comprehensive evaluation process at FitLab alleviated my initial fear of the unknown. On my very first day of training I met with Brandt, his positive, upbeat, non-judgmental demeanor quickly eased my feelings of apprehension and embarrassment. I received this evaluation with the InBody scale that delivers highly precise and ultra-accurate results. WOW, this InBody machine gives you so much information about what your body is actually composed of currently. This was an eye-opening experience for me by seeing these numbers and what I must work on. I was able to see where I need the most help and not just step on the scale to measure my weight. Then Brandt sat down, went over the results thoroughly, and explained everything to me in detail. Brandt developed a training program specifically to my goals. He made me believe I was not as bad off as I thought and I was very capable of achieving my health and fitness goals, which inspired me to want to come back and without hesitation I signed up for a year personal training. Brandt is always prompt to our sessions twice a week, is always prepared and does a great job of "mixing up" sessions. His background and excellent credentials instill confidence, and are evident when he explains the rationale, target, and proper form for every exercise. He is very diligent about ensuring proper technique for each element of our training sessions and I can feel the difference immediately. Most importantly, he challenges, encourages, and literally motivates me every single time we train. As a bonus, he also has a pleasant personality and enjoyable sense of humor and very attentive. Now that I have been training 2 days a week for the last few weeks, I can honestly say that Brandt has gone from making a good first impression to being one of my favorite people, and has proven himself a trustworthy, reliable, truly Top-Notch trainer. I went here for my first time tonight, and I think it's my favorite Planet Fitness location yet. I…read morestill prefer the atmosphere of the Manchester West gym, but this one is outfitted with shiny, state-of-the-art machines and space-age equipment. Even the urinals look like they're from the future. I love that kinda stuff. As a runner, I'm psyched about one feature this location's treadmills have: iPod docks. Being able to leave behind the awkward arm band - which makes switching albums mid-run nearly impossible - is huge. I was able to keep running for 8 miles without getting fed up. I haven't used any of the weight machines yet, but if you've heard PF's ads, you know they're not catering to the Creatine crowd. As a non-bodybuilder, I do think the stereotypes are a bit unfair, but obviously the campaign is effective or they wouldn't keep at it. It's also contrary to the "Judgement Free Zone" principle - we're allowed to judge bodybuilders, but no one else -- but, again, I still love the place. But I'm digressing. I think I'll make this my go-to gym for when I'm on my way home from work, and stick with the Manchester West location when I'm home.

I come back this weekend to possibly sign up and they did a complete remodel of all new equipment which I find to be quite nice but nothing I'm used to using from the gyms that I've gone to not at all satisfied so I will not be joining there. According to what the manager said this is the way all planet fitnesses Are going to be doing. These machines are just basic training at least the machines are the free weights and dumbbell rack is nice but I do a lot of machines and Smith machine no longer there. Along with other ones. I will be pursuing other gyms because I'm just not at all satisfied with what I see now. I find it to be wrong that they don't ask for customers input to see what they want instead of they just put in brand new equipment that half the people don't use let alone don't know how to use. I find that the staff don't want to help new customers or even existing customers how do you see equipment. My friend is there in the goffstown location and she doesn't even like it. She's the one that got me to try and join. The prices there are so pleasant because you get everything with a black card. Oh well!
