I was a resident at sparling lodge for about months. When I first arrived I thought that it was a great place for my final home as I have terminal cancer. But after being there a short time I started to notice some things that were not right. Like how the residents were sneaking each other food and how you were constantly being watched, it was more like a jail than a home. I kept my room in immaculate condition and told the cleaning staff they could come into my room anytime they wanted to but they never did except for one whom I was warned about that steals anything of value from the rooms. She would kick me out of my room for a half an hour while she " cleaned ". After a few times of her " cleaning " I noticed my jar of change was missing. I then complained to the management about it and they said that it was going on for more than 10 years and when they put cameras in the rooms it stopped, but it started back up again when they took the cameras out. Just hours after me complaining I was given a 2 day eviction notice. My only conclusion is that the management is in on the thefts. I hope that they feel good about themselves for throwing a 64 year old man with terminal cancer out on the street into the cold. read more
