If you've read any of my reviews, you know how important customers service is to me.... having said that, we had to flag down someone to take our order. Meanwhile, folks that walked in and was seated a good 20 minutes after us received their cutlery before us and had their order taken before us. Unacceptable. We had mussels, calamari, wings and mozzarella sticks - the main purpose of this trip was to drink. We ordered Mai Tais and Margaritas. The drinks were decent. Not bad. The food was normal appetizers. Nothing spectacular. The restaurant itself is huge. Wonderful outdoor seating with a smoking and non-smoking section. The seat cushions look like miniature rugs. Opera Cafe is a hugest restaurant in Brooklyn We came here for my birthday celebration they are kids friendly my friend have 9 years old boy the server was very talkative to him they brought him crayons with driving books that way kid didn't get bored even on tv cartoons playing They made great decor I wish I could find this Turkish hand made light for my home This place great for groups . I love the atmosphere of this restaurant! It's huge and I like the outdoor seating. Service here is hit or miss, that is my major complaint. Our waiter the last time we went was excellent! We told him we were fasting and requested the food to be ready by a certain time, he was very accommodating. He even brought us a plate of dates, as that is a traditional way that we break fast at he end of the day. We enjoyed all of the food that we ordered. The hommus, baba ghannouj, and bread were delicious! I love a good baba ghannouj and theirs really hit the spot. Lamb chops were excellent although not quite well-done as requested, Adana kebab was juicy and flavorful, chicken curry was spicy, and the grilled chicken skewers were tangy with perfect seasoning. The fries here are excellent. For dessert, the kunafa was excellent, I would get it again next time. The stuffed figs were just ok, not that great. I took one star off because service is not consistent, our order is always messed up. Last time our chicken curry came a half hour later than everyone else's main dishes. The next star I took off is because for their prices, their portions are too small. My husband was still hungry after his lamb chop meal, and our bill was around $50 per person. I came here to celebrate my mom birthday. This place is huge and the settings are spacious. You don't feel cramp up at the table. The decor is nice. It made you felt comfortable. I got the mixed grill. It was delicious. It is definitely one way to try different meat since i was having difficulty deciding. The meat was very well seasoned and moist. I also got the Malibu baybreeze which is on the sweet side since it is a fruity cocktail. Overall, it was a nice experience but the waiters seemed a little confused when it comes to serving the dishes. read more

Decor - awesome - 1 star Bad is not the word...food Love the baked potato at Masal so when I heard this place had one I had to try it It was cold and so were the ingredients... gross Masal is way better The calamari was like rubber.. and the waiter refused to take it back.. Got the grilled shrimp special it was good but the shrimp were glued to the wooden skewer... One of the best Turkish Restaurant I have dined at, actually scratch that one of the best dinning experiences. Not only is everything delicious but it's exceptionally fresh too!!! My favorite was the eggplant appetizer, salad, and my main course of stuffed chicken was amazing!!! The dessert and coffee was exceptional as well. The baklava and cappuccino was the perfect ending to a great meal. The service is also just as exceptional as the food. Only thing is wish it wasn't in Brooklyn and I can eat here more often :( read more

For starters, when I eat at Italian or Mediterranean restaurants the first thing I look forward to , yes ladies---- is the BREAD!!! When I opened the napkin covered bread basket , there was 4 little pieces of very unimpressive bread. Wasn't even tempted to try. The opera salad with shrimp was very good. Al the salads coming out looked nicely prepared with a good presentation. Fried liver cubes with purple onion- very good Sigora boreki - fried rolled up pieces of phyllo dough with feta were also very good. Both are very standard fare for Turkish places. Desert was eh! Luke warm coffee and run of the mill baklava. I walked out thinking the meal was good but no great need to do a repeat performance. read more

Delightful cafe. The food and service are ok, but the newly built outdoor area was so pleasant that I felt the visit was worth 4 stars.

This used to be one of my favorite spots. Won't be back after their clueless hostess' wasted an hour of my life. I have zero respect for this place they ruined our night. The hostess will yes you to death until you have been waiting for 4X the original wait time, go somewhere that's going to be up front about the wait. We went from being told it's a 25 minute wait to being called back in 10 minutes for a table and then waited 50 more minutes until we were actually seated. We watched the hostess tell everyone it's a 25 minute wait and when it went past the time they would come back to complain and be seated right away. We stood there respectively waiting for an hour as 5 tables were seated. We ended up calling LIMON restaurant confirmed they had no wait and decided to head there. I went to tell the hostess that she can remove my name from the list and that they should not have told us 25 min wait if it would be 1 hour, MAGICALLY the table was ready for us to be seated immediately, I told them we weren't interested and give it to the other couples you told were next, ended up having an amazing dinner down the block. So happy we did not stay as I read a similar review that was posted from tonight. read more

Came for the first time tonight, where it's only outside dining due to covid-19. There are not taking the correct steps to disinfect tables between customers as I witnessed while waiting for the table and the tables were closer than 6 feet! And all the hostesses are incompetent! We asked for a table of two, they said 20 minute wait they took down our name and number. But there were tables available with no one there, no belongings or reserved sign. 20 minutes later we get a phone call while we were walking in the area to waste time. We said we'll be there in 2 minutes, we get there and state we got the call they say between among each other they gave the table away?! The night is already to a bad start bc the service is horrible and the staff doesn't know what their doing! We sit down, no waters were served. We order our dessert thats pre made and it takes 30 minutes. Our waitress never comes back to us the whole night. We order coffee and there are no sugar packs on our table or served with our coffee. We order for to go towards the end and it takes 40 minutes to get another waiters attention. What I ordered comes out wrong even after instructing them, second one I dont look thinking its correct. I come home and its WRONG AGAIN. I called and asked for a manager they gave the phone to a guy named Apo, he was very disrespectful and stated mix the kumpir everything is in there. When nothing was in there except the potatoe and corn?! I'm not the incompetent one, he rudely gave the phone to a girl to get my name and number for credit. Very disappointed with the service and food, I've been coming for years but now I can take my business to somewhere that respects its customer and makes sure the customer's satisfaction is important. They need new staff including the manager. More training is also needed so the workers can understand the customers 100 percent. read more

Chicken was not seasoned and the sauce split from being over cooked- instead of a smooth Alfredo sauce you're left with a gritty greasy mess. Pasta was under seasoned. Our waiter Kadir was excellent tonight with taking our order for us, make sure we had everything that we needed and came back number of times to make sure that everything was ok.
