Even though they're a subsidiary of GM, Open does not have a presence in the US. I didn't get to drive an Opel or really even know about them until I reached Europe. They focus on value family vehicles. I knew I should have upgraded to the 1 series but at the same time it's really expensive to rent when you come from out of country. So we got a manual Opel station wagon to cruise around Spain. Spongy throttle and sloppy transmission made driving around town and up and down the A8 a very interesting experience.
