I absolutely love this place and the friendly customer service I get when I walk in the door. I've been following Jenny for years and she always does a really good job when i get my nails done. Every time I come here, I take my best friend with me and she loves it as well. JENNY IS REALLY GOOD and treats the customers really well. She's so nice and the other staff is nice as well too. I visited this salon for the first time, being recommended by a friend. Had an okay experience. It was close to my house so that was a plus, and at the time i walked in they weren't as busy. The price for a fill was only $15 dollars for acrylic and i that was another plus for me. Once one of the ladies started on my nails, she drilled away and on two occasions nicked two of my fingers. In which i said "ouch" and she didn't even say sorry. But a little cut i wont cry over, but a sorry was expected. Other than that incident she did a great job on the acrylic and length of my nails. She also introduced herself and made small talk with me, (her name was Tina or i think jenny). I also asked for a design and she came up with a beautiful flower and she even picked the colors for me since i was very indecisive. Had to write an update because my last one is a little updated. I guess a 25$ mani/pedi was their special at the time, but it's still only like 28 or 29, which also is not to bad. The service is still as great as ever, all the girls do a wonderful job & Jenny who is the owner is simply the best. They now have this new gel polish and I tested it out myself. It's a new technology (NO CHIPPAGE) & it works. Coming from someone who work in the food industry and cannot have chipped nails its a nice relief to know that I do not have to get acrylics! The only thing is that they do grow out so you do need to go back and get them redone, but no chippage and it's awesome! It's like the same price as acrylics though, but they don't do the damage as those do! OPI is my spot! read more

Pro: The woman who cut my cuticles was very thorough. Cons: The water was not hot enough even after I ask. No fancy jets while my feet soaked Non massaging chairs (their chairs look fancy for nothing) Exfoliated only my feet and ankles when my pants were pulled up above my knees. Lotion and massage came after my nails were painted....weird right? And she accidentally touched a nail while massaging my feet/legs. No where to dry my toes underneath a UV light. She kinda just sent me on my way.. REUSES the same toe separator thingy when they paint your nails (I have no idea what it's called) I hope I don't get a fungus or something from this place. I came her despite the bad to OK reviews I seen here on yelp. I was looking for a shop that stays open late since I don't get off work until later in the evening. Upon arrival, I was asked if I needed help. They told me to choose a color for my pedi, all of the nail polishes are OPI (although they might be refilled with another kind of nailpolish) --not sure, just a thought. They prepped the water for me and sat me down right away even though others were still finishing their pedicure. I was ok with that as it was relaxing to soak my feet, but the jets were not on/didn't work? Anyways, the pedicure was very thorough for $20, she took 45 mins with me and I was very satisfied with the service. I'm taking off one star bc I don't think some of the things she did were very hygienic- like she used the same gloves over and over. She put them on and then took them off after washing them? Um.. So I was having a super crappy day and was stuck in traffic for what seemed to be an eternity. I decided to treat myself to a pedicure and found this place on yelp and I was super happy that it wasn't closed until 8 since most places close at 7. This is one of the best nail salons I've been too. The service was excellent. Jenny did my pedicure and she made me feel very welcomed and relaxed. She was very kind to me the whole entire time. Normally when I go to other salons the ladies don't talk to me but Jenny constantly spoke to me. Not only does she have great customer service but she did an awesome job on my pedicure. The walls are decorated with relaxing pretty pictures and there's a ton of Opi nail polish to choose from. It's also very clean and tidy. Reasonable prices! After my pedicure I felt so much better. I have two usual spots where I get my nails done and they're just too far for me. So, I started searching around for a spot in Milpitas. I Yelped this place and was a little reluctant about it, but I read good things about this place. When I got here it was empty, I was instantly worried because a sign of a good nail place is how busy they are. I stepped foot into the spa chair to get myself a pedicure. The seats didn't have massage, which I didn't mind much. The place looked clean, I even had to use the loo and that was surprisingly very clean. As I sat down to get my pedi, a customer walked in. She seemed like a usual. I was very worried that my nail lady would rush with me so that she could get a chance to work on another customer. My lady finished my toes and I thought that was the end of the pedi. Then she started giving me a massage...oh.....my....gawd! That massage was to die for! I felt sooooo good afterwards. She took her time while she gave me a massage too! Some places just rub your toes and your calves and that's it. Not her! She really spoiled me. It's possible she was doing all of this to make a good impression, but either way, it was a very good FIRST impression! I'm due for another pedi and definitely anticipate on going back. My new favorite nail salon! I came here with no appointment on a Saturday afternoon and was able to get service within 10 minutes. All their nail polish is by the brand OPI which every gal knows is top notch stuff. I've always gotten white tip acrylics in the past and it wasn't until I came here where I made the switch to acrylic nails with OPI nail polish. The colors totally stand out and it was hard to choose! I actually saw a picture of pink nails on my yelp application and showed the nice lady. I told her "can you do it like this girl's?" and she totally got the job done. I absolutely LOVED my nails and received many compliments for them! It was $25 to get my nails done which is very reasonable. The lady got my nails done efficiently. She engaged in conversation with me and at the end asked how I heard about them. I told them yelp and she, of course, asked me to write a review! After seeing how they work at my nails, I will definitely be back and next time, I will also ask for a pedicure. I wish I could give a 2.5... I even thought about a 3, but I just don't know. It didn't do it for me. First, the layout is really cramped. If you are getting a manicure, you have people within a foot behind you waiting for their turn or picking out their nail polish. Someone is getting a manicure, and someone else is picking out nail polish, you better wait your turn to leave the store (store? salon? whatever you want to call it). There also isn't much room to move around in the pedicure area. The pedicure was OK. It was nothing to write home about, but had I just had the pedicure and it hadn't been so cramped, I might have given it a 3. I may have given it a 3 even if it was cramped, but she cut my toe. I said "ow," and still she kept digging in where it was cut. Ultimately this made the pedicure unpleasant. It also made the evening (I was there for a wedding) less than pleasant. My toe hurt and got worse as the night went on. It ultimately got infected, which is never fun. I probably wouldn't go back, hence the 2 stars. There were some girls who came in that were obviously regulars and loved it, you could tell. So I am sure it is OK. You'd probably be OK going here. Just be careful, and speak up if they hurt you. Also, the nail polish took FOREVER to dry. So just be prepared for that. Seems they don't really use the quick drying topcoat to set the polish... or they use one that isn't very good. read more

I went here 3 times. The first time was great. I had mani, pedi, and eyebrow wax. The service was very friendly and meticulous. The second time I went for a full set of acrylics, even though I had asked for gel. They use a gel uv top coat over the traditional acrylic system and called it gel nails. The set started lifting the same day I had them done. A week later, I could literally lift up the acrylic from my nails, practically all 10 nails had lifted. So the third time I went in to fix it. I told her about the lifting, she blamed it on my nails not taking the acrylic in (I'm like what?). Then she made cuts on both of my pink fingers on both sides. Not a sorry and no attempt to even tell me about it. I sat through the ordeal patiently but was very disappointed. Won't be coming back. I had a manicure here . Good service,quick, affordable and convenient since i live close by. Saturday afternoon , i didn't have to wait , i was in & out in 40 min or so. Lynn did my nails , after i left i messed up a few nails , they were not dry yet i guess, i was very sad of course, went back and she fixed them all for me . It was nice of her. Overall i had a good experience. I just don't like when they talk their language when customers are around.. It feels so uncomfortable. It is not only this place though they all do that.. They're both fast and very attentive to what you want. I've only gotten a pedicure from Kelly and she always does an AMAZING job. I was reeally hoping to give this place 5 stars & make it my usual spot. I ducked out of traffic on Friday for a pedicure & wax. There were a couple people having their nails done when I arrived, and I had to crawl over a man to get to the spa chair they pointed out to me, due to the narrowness of the cramped shop. But whatever, I can crawl over old guys to get a good & affordable pedi any day just like the next girl! As I sat down, at least 5 employees went out the back together, it looked like they were going on break but I didn't see them again. After they started the pedi I told them I wanted some waxing done, too. Here's how that went: Pedi: As soon as she started, she cut my nails too short & then asked if I wanted them shorter. Some of them were cut at an angle. Nice long massage, but she spent about 30 seconds with the pumice, 15 seconds per foot. BOO! Just because my heels won't snag the sheets doesn't mean you're done - spend some time on them and make them smooth. It won't take long at all, and then I'll come BACK. Overall it was ok, but I don't want to pay for a pedi & have to go home and pumice my feet the same day! C'mon! Also, she didn't wear gloves, and that reminds me that I didn't see where she got her tools from. Don't know if they were sterilized or not, I'm sure they were, but I'm used to them opening a sealed sterilized package in front of me. Waxing: Well thanks to the waxing lady, this place is downgraded from "I'll try them again and specify I want them to spend more time w/the pumice stone" TO "Heck no!!" FIRST of all, she left patches behind. So after getting waxed, I had to go home and pluck the sensitive areas that I paid to have waxed. THAAANKS. And THEN, she goes and leaves the excess wax ON my skin. And sends me home that way. She took a little cotton out of the bottle, dabbed it with a little liquid so slightly that it didn't even feel wet to the touch, and only rubbed one of four areas where wax had been applied. I figured that was the only place where there was any residue until I was back on the road and spotted wax on my face, some of it peeling off and looking like...IDK what. I had planned on making one more stop on my way to the house, but looking like that? HECK no! Instead I had to go home to remove excess wax, pluck remaining hair and pumice my feet...so WHY did I pay them AND give both women a pretty nice tip?? I feel that at the end of a long day & week, I should be able to relax and watch the news during my pedi & waxing instead of having to supervise them constantly. Oh also, they were OBVIOUSLY talking about and laughing at my eyebrows (which I didn't let that woman touch!), and kept going back to it, I mean, find something else about me to laugh about already, dang! But it was FINE by me, because the woman doing the waxing had completely waxed off her eyebrows and drew them in. Honey, if that's her style, she can laugh at my get-compliments-all-the-time brows all she wants. In closing, I noticed that in some reviews they asked customers how they heard of them and to please write a review on Yelp. After my waxing was "done" and "cleaned up", the waxing lady did ask me where I heard about them. I said Yelp. She did not ask me to write a review, she had a, "Oh. My friend and I were looking for a place to get a pedicure around my area. Our first choice told us that the wait was an hour and we did not want to wait. So we came to OPI Nails. It was really close to my house and from the reviews on Yelp it seemed like a decent place to go to. We came here and the staff was very friendly. As we came into the shop, we were greeted and worked upon immediately. The workers were very nice and didn't seem to gossip as much as other nail salons. The reasoning behind my 3 stars is that the lady who gave me a pedicure was really digging into my big toe and caused it to slightly bleed. It was very sensitive and I'm not sure what she had put on it, but when she did, it started to sting. That's the only thing I have against this place. For an $18 pedicure and LOTS of OPI choices, this is definitely a great spot to go to. Besides that, there is isn't much that stood out for me compared to the rest of the nail salons in the area. My technician gave me a good clean and foot scrub, but I have been to places that also gave me a little rub on the leg/foot - I didn't get that here. She pounded my lower leg a few times, but that was it. Nothing to cry over, however. Not a word from anyone that worked here. I think I heard, "Hi, can I help you...and then what color do you like?" Most of the ladies that I have had as a pedicurist talked w/me - it was part of good customer service. Maybe cause it was in the evening, the ladies were tired. I don't know. If you live in the area, this is probably the best you are going to get w/o paying top dollars. I don't live in the neighborhood, so I wouldn't drive out the way to come here. I love their OPI selections however. Who knows, maybe I will give them one more try to add design with it. read more

I've been here plenty of times and I have more negative experiences than positive ones. Yes, I rate this as a 2 star, but come here frequently. I did not get out of the chair till after 12:30! All I had was plain bubbling water in the foot tub. She acted like she understood and told her boss about it. 4 min later, she did exactly what I told her not to do. She lathered me up when I specifically told her not too. 45 min after during my pedi, I had asked if there was time to do my nails This girl seemed like she was never going to finish.I told them that it was ok, I can come back another time, but really wasn't. So the boss told another girl to work on my hands while my pedi was getting finished. The polish that was on my hands chipped the next day. The paint job was not even. Also, during my pedi, the girl stopped in between to clean the tubs with a sponge and she didn't even wash her hands before she went back to work on my feet. WOO-HOO!! i can't believe that i am the first person to review this nail salon...it's just such a great pla...ohhhh, wait a minute...i get it...no one wants to let the best kept secret of milpitas out! yup, you heard it from me FIRST...this place is awesome!! now, i'm not a weekly type of mani/pedi girl, but i do like to treat myself to a visit every once in a while. i've been to a ton of places and finally, FINALLY, i've found 'the one'!! OPI Nail is a small salon so it has a nice relaxed atmosphere (not like the ones in the mall), everything is offered at a reasonable price (not like those boutiquey places that overcharge), every single time i get my nails done they come out perfect (even shape, no bubbles, zero streaks, etc.) AND they have excellent customer service! for example, on my very first visit i had a mani/pedi done and it came out beautifully. i admired them the whole way home and went about the rest of my day wearing flip-flops and running errands. i don't know how, but by that afternoon my toenails were jacked up. like horrendous. i was devastated, so i went back to the salon to get them re-done and they did my toes all over again...for FREE!! don't trip, i left a huge tip. but just the fact that they laughed off the incident and were totally polite about my incompetence made me a true fan!! flawless nails, reasonable prices, and excellent customer service. hmmmm, maybe i AM a weekly mani/pedi girl after all ;) p.s. you KNOW that a place is good when the shop opens at 10am and by 10:15 all five pedicure seats are filled...with a line of 2 more people waiting their turns!! Came here the other day, no appointment. Got seated in 10 minutes, superb job like the last time I was here. Owner had appointments lined up, (which I was disappointed about because she is amazing) so I had another lady do my nails. I think she was cleaning pedi tubs when I got there. At least she washed her hands before she touched mine! Their pedicures are so relaxing! They don't do the hot stones like my regular nail spa, but their massage is typically longer. I give this place only 2 stars based on my last experience. I've been here once years ago, but I believe that was only for a pedicure and it was 'meh' even then. At least that last time I came in for a pedicure, the technician didn't cut my cuticles so deep that she made my toe bleed. Inside edge of my big toe nail bed, people... it's STILL sore. I also got a gel manicure and their method of removal and process is pretty off. First off, like I've read on another Yelper's review, they took a DREMEL and FILED OFF my old gel polish AND my nail bed. This is a BIG no- no as the whole point of gel polish is to preserve the nail. I never got a hand bath, cuticles were never pushed back, and she trimmed off my cuticles AFTER she applied the gel polish. This means my hands were NEVER clean during this entire process. And she used the same towel with the nail shavings and cuticle to wipe my hands when she was all done with me!!! Sorry... Gross. Then she took a regular file and filed off my nail edge after the polish was put on... that REALLY confused me. Did she WANT my polish to chip? When I got home I carried on with my normal activities that should be fine after getting gel nails - washing dishes, opening mail etc. Two nails chipped before I got in bed. I don't remember what brand the gel polish was, but I know for a fact it wasn't Gelish. Serves me right for going with an unfamiliar brand. Too bad the color was an absolute PERFECT nude. *Sigh* I'm going to a completely different place to change the polish because I don't want to risk getting dremeled again. See ya later Opi Nails. I joined 2 of my friends to get manicures here. The first time was okay, nothing special. The second time around, we waited about 20 minutes to get service. The manicurist asked twice what i wanted and twice i told her. I got a simple french tip manicure. She didn't hurt me and the manicure was okay. When I was ready to pay, I handed her my visa and asked her to put the tip on the card. She told me there was a ATM, they accept credit cards, so I refused to pay ATM fees. She also asked if i had cash for her tip. I was a bit annoyed but luckily my friend had some cash on her so it worked out. Two whole days after my manicure, I noticed it was already chipping! I was so disappointed! More than likely I wont be back! Update: I came back here after I wrote this review. I went there for a pedicure and was getting decent services. As I was sitting there and elderly woman walked in asking about getting a pedicure and the ladies were EXTREMELY rude to her and basically kicked her out. A few minutes later her husband came in looking for her and they acted like they hadn't seen that lady at all! They had no reason to treat the woman the way they did! Great prices & customer service. Me and my sister always go here before we go on vacation for a mani/pedi. It looks small from outside, but the business is actually very clean. The massage chairs that they use for the pedis are absolutely wonderful -- very relaxing and I see the workers clean them between uses. HUGE selection of nailpolishes (gel & regular). The girls are sweet and talk to you as they do your nails. Can't say enough good stuff about this place! I've been coming here for years & never really had a problem, but unfortunately the last 4 times I've visited has been such a disappointment. I've noticed service has been getting worse and worse. What was once busy & lively, is now dead. The staff has completely lost their spark. They don't even greet you when you walk in anymore. They just look up, then look back down. I mean, a simple "hi" wouldn't hurt. A small gesture can go a long way for customers & they refuse to even do just that. My review is mainly for the owner. She just seems like she has no care in the world for her profession anymore. Maybe your time is up? Because your thoughts definitely show & that reflects off you & onto your customers. My last visit was the worst. I came at 5:30, & I didn't make an appointment so I had no problem waiting. They always seem short staffed so I never get attended to right away. I ended up waiting TWO hours for them to just tell me they can only do my pedicure & not my manicure. With no sympathy. Considering that my recent past visits were so bad, I've decided that enough is enough. You've just lost a regular. I visited this tiny salon on Friday 7/21 and have been mad at myself ever since. I went in to get a pedicure and knew I was making a big mistake once I walked in the door. The place was so small and overly crowded with framed pictures and prices. I do not know how anyone comes in to get waxed in the small curtained section of this small salon. They could utilize this place so much more efficiently but NO its a disaster! They however do have cute fans and chandeliers.. My massage chair did not work and was very uncomfortable. There is a reason why the reviews are so bad here. All of the women were so careless and speaking absurdly and rudely loudly in their native tongue. The woman didn't listen when I said I don't want my nails to be cut or be shaped a certain way. She went ahead and did whatever she wanted. I've been to this nail salon for maybe 6 times now and well I always leave satisfied. However I'm only giving it 3 stars because its not exactly my go to nail salon. I only come here when it's last minute or when I want to have simple nails. Jenny and Ben are AMAZING, always ask for them. As for the rest, don't bother. Especially Lynn. I'm vietnamese therefore I understand every single thing they say and you don't want to know the things Lynn say about you whether its in front of you (in vietnamese) or behind your back. I suggest Jenny either fire Lynn or give her an attitude make over. She needs to learn some manners and while at it, maybe better nail skills. read more
