The bathrooms are exceptionally clean. However each time we went to the bar we were charged a different price for the same drinks, in addition my friend who speaks fluent German was charged less than myself... In all we paid 4 different prices for the same drinks that evening. I would also warn any women drinking here to be very careful with their drinks as a couple of local men bought us drinks which were spiked. Thankfully I didn't drink it but my friend was very ill for a few days as a result.

But it also felt like it might have something to offer even if there was nothing to watch. There were a couple of interesting beers for example (the Astra Urtyp (which means prototype!) was pretty nice. Unfortunately they had the horrible electronic darts machines you find around Germany - they have three in fact! I'd be interested to see what it was like on a normal night.

We were staying at the top of the hill, we saw this spot on our way down into town. It was outside the city center and we knew we should try it. "Are you looking for real beer?" was our greeting. We saw a list of Belgian beers on the chalk board, and we knew we had found our place. John was an excellent tour guide through many of the selections we had to choose from. We also had fantastic food. The chicken satay was incredible and a nice change from typical German fare. What a nice surprise in this small town.
