I love Jysk! It's…read moreperfect for furniture shopping on a budget and it offers you decent quality! As a student, I can highly appreciate that, of course! Most furniture they sell, you have to assemble yourself, but that also means smaller packages to drag home. They often, very often, offer huge discounts on their products so if you keep an eye on their website, which is pretty straightforward and clear for non-Dutchies with a little help from an online dictionary, you can save even more money. I, for example, have a white metal desk with a tempered glass top which is cloudy white. My 12 lbs speakers dropped from 3 feet onto my desk and nothing shattered, not even dented. So, I'm happy. I paid €30 for the desk on sale. What I'm really happy with, however, is their line of Wellpur mattresses, pillows and cushions! The Wellpur products, check pictures, consist of NASA/memory foam and they all have hypoallergenic bamboo covers that are removable and washable. The U shaped neck cushion is one of my favorites! It follows the contours of your neck, shoulders and jaw because of the memory foam. Something I'm also extremely happy with is the 3.5" memory foam top mattress I bought for €175 with 70% off!!! Perfect for people with a hard mattress or a sofa bed. Or even if you don't have a lot of room and you want a "bed" for possible guests, you can just throw one of these babies on the floor and voila! Bed! Their Wellpur line is well worth checking out. See the pictures.

Neef Louis is a big store located in Amsterdam North. If you're heading to this place I suggest you…read morecome by car (which you will probably do since you're thinking about buying some furniture I think) because this is not near the city center at all and a bit far away from everything. The stuff at this place is nice. Lot's of awesome furniture. Vintage, industrial looks,. Also lots of wood, leather. All kinds of cool things. It is very expensive though. If you are used to going to charity shops and flea market everything here seems much overpriced and there is just no fun in that. If you are not a flea market queen like myself you might like this place better. Before leaving and making the long travel back to the actual city of Amsterdam; the little café Waargenoegen is located in the same building. Go there for nice coffee and apple pie (this place is a little pricey though).

There is a little cafe there that serves organic foods, very tasty, coffee, tea, etc. It's a unique experience and worth the trip across the Ij with lots of interesting places nearby including Pllek, Faralda (Crane Hotel), Ij-Hallen, etc. It's easy to get to, the ferry is free and run 24 hrs, so it's not a great effort to check out some cool places "off the beaten path". Definitely recommend it - worth the time.

We came here recently to look for new beds and new curtains and new inspiration and we didn't leave before we'd walked for 4 hours inside this magical place. Great selection of furniture and stuff. Yes, stuff. The set up of everything is pretty. They have a lovely cafe for those of us who enjoy a cappuccino while shopping or an apple tart before the activity. The prices are reasonable and have a range - there are higher level items you're going to pay more for, and nice quality less expensive items. Overall, this place rules from the door you walk into to the couch you sit on, imagining is in your home. Enjoy!
