Same story as other reviewers. Onsite Neonatal is basically a fraudulent operation, an out-of-network provider secretly lurking within in-network hospitals. My wife and I were never aware (in fact, would never have thought to expect) that Mountainside Hospital's only neonatology provider was a separate outfit, not considered in network by our insurance. We only found this out when the grossly inflated bills started arriving. Our child was born healthy, without complications, and this group of gougers want $1300+ for basic exams that took less that 45 minutes. Shame on Onsite for their deceptive and exploitative business model (taking advantage of new parents), shame on the hospitals for contracting out critical services to out of network providers, and shame on America for mindlessly tolerating this abusive train wreck of a health care system, year after year. read more

Horrible experience through and through with onsite neonatal. I was extremely unimpressed with the doctors that looked after my twins in particular the doctors that looked after my little girl in the NICU. They were short with answers and never gave updates unless prompted. fast forward to our ridiculous robbery of an overpriced bill. They absolutely REFUSED to work with us on a payment plan. Refusing to let us go less than $120 a month in paying them. Even during the pandemic. Horrible customer service and disguising billing department. We ended up asking to be sent to collections because we would rather work with them than continue to be harassed by onsite neonatal. After asking to be sent to collections they kept calling me! BEWARE of this medical practice - they are largely "out of network" for most plans. I delivered a healthy baby girl at Norwalk (CT) Hospital in Oct 2014 and received a bill for $1,190 for the 5 minutes that the neonatologist spent with my daughter after she was born (a complication-free c-section), a STATE-mandated hearing test and a bottle of saline spray ($10) to clear normal congestion in my daughter's nose. Their so-called "patient billing advocates" advised that it was their "goal" to have our insurance company (Aetna) pay. However, the claim remains unresolved. This practice is very sketchy and it is VERY strange that they are placed in a CT hospital when they are based in NJ. read more

My OB/GYN was an in-network provider, and had I chosen to have my baby at Danbury Hospital, an in-network hospital. After my child was born, I was told that a neonatologist would be examining the baby because none of the pediatricians were available. I was not informed, however, that this neonatologist was employed by OnSite Neonatal, an out-of-network provider. I was also not given an option of another, in-network, provider. I have been receiving bills from this company since the birth, which ask me to "call our patient advocates" to be "updated on your account status". These "patient advocates" did nothing more than tell me my insurance company was denying the claim, and "assisted" me in drafting letters to appeal the denials. After my appeals were thoroughly exhausted, I was told by my insurance company that the charges were out-of-network and would not be covered by them. It is misleading at best to examine a person's child at an in-network hospital before informing the patient that you are employed by a different provider, who is out-of-network with your insurance...and then expect the patient (who had consciously chosen an in-network hospital with in-network providers only) to pay the exorbitant bill. My child just turned one, and I am STILL dealing with resolving this. What a terrible experience. I am awaiting a returned phone call from them, and depending on the result, plan to file a BBB complaint - more people should do so. I also plan to complain to the hospital that they should not do business with OnSite due to lack of advanced notice/informed consent regarding these billing practices. read more

The other reviewer is exactly correct. You won't even know these people exist until they send you a bill for over a thousand dollars. You'll think it's some mistake (you have insurance!), but it won't be. They're "out of network" on purpose, so they can charge whatever they want. Assuming you don't want to just cut them a check, it's on you to navigate the appeals process of your insurance provider, although they are kind enough to draft a letter on your behalf explaining, in detail, why what they do isn't fair and your insurance should pity you enough to reimburse you for the expense. Hospitals presumably save or make money by allowing these people to do what they do, so I encourage you to call your hospital in advance and see if these people will be performing any services. If they are, go someplace else to have your baby. We're still dealing with this situation on the eve of our daughter's first birthday. read more

After my wife and I had our baby girl, some women came into the room and said, "we'd like to take your daughter to get a hearing test. Is that OK?" We said yes, of course, thinking these women were with the hospital, where all of our services were being covered in-network. Turns out it was Onsite, and I later received a bill for $500. At no time did these women identity themselves as working for a company or was I informed of the costs of this test. This all happened in Eastern PA. They performed the service, so I can't go after them for fraud. Rather, they are deceptive and take advantage of first-time parents. Any hospital that permits them in is reprehensible. read more

When I first wanted to write a review, I was going to give 1 star. But, after having some good costumer service, I decided on 2 stars. My daughter was born on 10/5/20 and passed meconium in the womb. Due to hospital protocol, she had to be taken to the NICU for observation. Little did we know what this was about to do to our lives. She was only in there for 12 hours, so I really can't say much on the NICU itself, but for the time we were in there, it was a good experience with the doctors and nurses. The billing department at Onsite was a different story. First off, they called me not even 24 hours after receiving the bill in the mail to set up a payment plan. Secondly, the best plan they could give us was $360.87 a month for 3 months... in the middle of a pandemic which has caused money to be tight. I gave them our card info, she said okay have a great day, and that was the end of it. Turns out, she got the card info wrong because she didn't read it back to me, and tried to contact me again. Only, this time, she called my MOTHER's number. My mom's number was the other number on the contact info they had and they decided to call that number instead of the number they called two days ago (which was MY number). When my mom told the lady she had the wrong number, she proceeded to ask my mom FOR MY NUMBER... which they already had because they had already called me before!! By this point, the date we had set for the payments to begin had passed, so I called again and gave them the correct card info and told them that payments needed to start on March 15th since Feb 15th had already passed. The billing lady then asked me if I could paid "just a little bit now"... when I got over the shock of that question, I told her no, I cant, and to please start my payments March 15th. Conversation ended and we hung up. As soon as we hung up, THEY PROCESS MY CARD and took $360 out of my account!!!! Of course, this was a Friday, so I had to wait until Monday to call and bitch someone out. They finally got me connected to a supervisor and she was the one who told me that Onsite doesn't actually process the payments, it's an entirely different company!! The supervisor pulls up my account and said that they have processed the refund and they are just waiting for the other company to give me my money back. It took them almost a week and a half to refund me my money after it took them 24 hours to take it out of my account. Between the outrageous "payment plan" and all the mistakes I've had to deal with, I felt like others needed to be warned that this company is ridiculous to deal with!! read more

Not only are the prices for services outrageous due to being out of network as previously stated by others, but I continue to have issues with my checks getting "lost" on the way to the office. My daughter was born prematurely, and so she was in the hospital for almost a month, which obviously has been a huge financial burden for our family. Although we received financial help from Onsite through making conference calls with our insurance provider, I have had to call back numerous times as the checks I send to them from my insurance company continue to get "lost". After having yet another conversation with them about checks that were sent, I was told that not only was there nothing they could do and I have investigate for myself, but they are also reporting us to the IRS for the amount still missing, which is thousands of dollars. There obviously must be something going on there as someone is pocketing some of the money received for my daughter's care, and it's coming back on me now. Onsite Neonatal Partners is a total scam. They are intentionally out of network (although working within an in-network hospital). Their staff came in our room and took our baby out for an audiology test while my wife and I were sleeping (without our approval and consent). We received a bill for ~$500 from them ~ 3 months after our baby was born. After calling about it - we received a pre-written insurance appeal letter to sign and return. After nearly two years of getting notices from them, calling about it, being told "don't worry -we are working with your insurance company" - repeating over and over again - I just paid off the balance so these morons would leave us alone read more

I am a former employee and ALL of the reviews are correct! This company is really a scam and they are partnered with the Hospitals. Onsite Neonatal is in my opinion purposely out of network therefore most of the fees they charge will most likely be passed onto the unsuspecting parents of newborn babies. If parents aren't willing to assist Onsite Neonatal with a variety of pleas, phone calls, letters etc to the insurance company then all of the fees will be billed to the parents. I'm beginning to worry that I've been scammed. My son was born in the summer of 2015 in an otherwise "in-network" hospital. Soon after, we received a bill for a "state" mandated auditory screening. The bill stated that Onsite Neonatal was out-of-network and they would collect what they could from my insurer and I would pay the "in-network" balance. I was told the remaining "out-of-network" balance would be waived, so I paid the in-network balance of $45.90. I have since received 2 bills that show a patient balance of $218.50!!! Each time, I have called them only to receive a voicemail recording. I've left messages both times and they haven't called back. Are these guys even a legitimate business? I contacted my hospital and am waiting to hear back. This is our third child, and we didn't have any of this "state mandated" nonsense last time. 9/1/15 Update: This is an update for my original review on 8/29/15. My hospital confirmed they are a legitimate business. I also received a call back from Onsite Neonatal. I was told the patient balance would be removed. I called back to ask for a paper copy showing a balance of $0, but I had to leave a voicemail message. Based on some of the other reviews, my fingers are crossed. The care that our newborn son received at Community Medical Center in Toms River saved his life. Dr. Rosen had to insert an emergency chest tube when my son was less than 12 hours old because his right lung collapsed. Because of his amazing skills, and those of Dr. Chavez and Dr. Johnson who continued his around the clock care thereafter (in conjunction with the amazing nicu nurses at cmc), we are blessed to say that our son is happy, healthy, and thriving at 5 months old. Due to Onsite being an out of network provider, we received eob's with amounts owed on them that made my stomach turn. After reaching out to Onsite to see what could be done, I worked closely with Laurie Gall who assisted me on reaching out to our insurance company. After a couple of conference calls to Aetna, our bills were 100% covered and paid in full, much to our relief. Onsite Neonatal partners provides professional care at every level. If I had been made aware that the Neonatal services were out of network and I it would take me two years to have my bill resolved I would have selected another hospital to have my daughter at. I was an incredibly time consuming and frustrating process. Further I am unsure as to how Shore Memorial Hospital can state that they are giving informed consent when they do not disclose the fact they out source to non-network providers and do not tell you until after you have a child there and need the service. If an option for 0 stars were available I would absolutely choose that. My daughter was born at Danbury Hospital in March, and at the time of her birth I had a fever of unknown origin. They suspected an infection, but antibiotics did nothing and she was completely healthy; after all that, it was likely just due to extreme hormonal swings. However, after being cleared by the doctors of any possible infection, Onsite still refused to allow my daughter to be released from the NICU. They claimed she was having a swallow/breathing problem while taking a bottle. Had they released her to me, she likely would not have had any issues as she would have been able to breastfeed (I believe the forced separation is the reason my breastmilk supply never really came in, and I had to resort to supplementing my newborn's diet with formula). After multiple examinations and EXPENSIVE tests with the doctors, they could not find any reason for this "issue". However, they arbitrarily applied a 5 day "observation period" anyway. When I asked why 5 days, they said, "well its usually 3-5 we want to watch" so I asked why we couldn't do 3, and their response was "because we want 5". After 5 days, they said she had another episode and made us stay another 5 days!! However, I had been there the whole time, except to eat and use the restroom, and never experienced this "episode". If it had happened while I was out of the room, why did no one tell me when I came back? I wanted to take her home AMA because I was sick of their bullshit, but they kept pressuring and scaring me into keeping her there. Hindsight being what it is, I should have trusted my instinct and taken her home when I suspected they were keeping her there unnecessarily. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE, NOT EVERYTHING DOCTORS SAY IS ABSOLUTE LAW. ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION!!!!! read more

When I called my insurance to try and remedy the outstanding invoice, found out that onsite never even submitted the bill to them despite me giving the information to neonatal on multiple occasions! read more

I had my baby 10 months ago and I am still dealing with a bill from these people. When I originally got a bill in the mail, I called to ask why it was so high if I had insurance. Apparently Aetna does not cover services from Onsite. So I set up a payment plan to pay it off. Well they set it up but messed up on my account and sent payments to the wrong account for another child! Once that was straightened out I had 3 payments taken out of my account with no problem. After i changed my debit card number i called to update my new info. They processed my payment with the old card info. So now they call me every month to say my card is declined. One employee was very rude and told me i probably had no money and that is why my card does not work! Terrible billing process and poor communication. Do your research before you have your baby!
