I stopped off here because it was the last one for quite a few KMs away to the next on route. As many know there are usually different chains with each stop. This one had a Burger King in it and the service was quick and the taste was okay. The restrooms were clean and there was no line to wait in. There is no wow factor it's just what it is. This Onroute is about half way from Toronto to Montreal so basically in the middle of nowhere. Don't get me wrong, I realize these stops are essential to motorists and do their job letting you fill up with gas, or charge your EV, but the inside is generally at best depressing and at worst disgusting. Just the smell that hits you as you walk in, a combination of rarely cleaned (for the traffic) washrooms with open concept doorways, either it needs-to-be-cleaned smell or just-cleaned-and-smells-like-pine-sol and pre-fab greasy fast-food fryers poorly vented to the outside, is often enough to make me wanna skip going in. Even regular gas stations are not quite as nauseating as these stops and that's saying a lot. Just hope you stop in on a less busy day, or after some kind of regular maintenance has been done. Get me outta Ontario and into Quebec, stat! read more

Onroute Odessa - Finally some charging stations to report. Nobody's using them today. - Gas Stations Near Me - Odessa, Ontario

I stopped off at the Odessa Onroute on a Sunday afternoon and did not enjoy my extended stay. This Onroute has a Tim Horton's, Popeye's Chicken, Burger King, and a Starbucks (in a separate building). There are also washrooms and a store with snacks. The washrooms were relatively clean and large enough to accommodate the many people stopping by. I didn't have to wait the multiple times my kids and I needed to use them. Getting a table was a bit challenging since it was so busy but I did appreciate that the tables were kept clean. Someone was walking around cleaning tables as customers cycled through. My biggest issue with this Onroute is the staff working the Popeyes and Burger King. I got food from both and each took 30+ minutes due to the lack of care and efficiency behind the counter. While I understand how these restaurants can be busy, my experience with each was so aggravating that I never want to go back. Popeyes had 5 or 6 people working (that I could see) but only one would work the register. That wouldn't be so bad except he was also seemingly responsible for baking biscuits, checking the coke machine, bagging orders, and other random tasks. With a long line of people waiting, he would be gone for several minutes at a time between orders while 5 people behind him seemed to be responsible for adding to a mountain of food being left under heating lamps. As expected, the chicken was incredibly dry. Burger King had 2 and a half people working there at about the same grueling speed. The person taking orders was slow, mumbled when he spoke, and looked at you with the most lifeless eyes that I'm sure his soul has left his body every day working for the King. The one guy making burgers moved so slowly and didn't end up making my order correctly. The only saving grace was a woman that seemed to come and go who looked driven, personable, and a breath of fresh air. She handed out orders and got the line moving quickly when she was there. Overall, obtaining lunch was a terrible experience and felt much longer than it had to be. I would like to point out that I do not fault the people working the restaurants. The pace they have to work and serving many tired customers must be challenging in itself. However, management has to do a better job at proper staffing, making the kitchen efficient, and keeping morale high. Maybe next time I'll try my luck at Starbucks... read more

Heading East towards Kingston is the On Route service station in Odessa, Ontario. This particular rest stop has businesses that include Tim Hortons, Burger King, Popeyes chicken, CIBC, as well as a drive-through Starbucks. The washrooms were clean. They have automatic air driers for minimizing the environmental impact of paper towels. I found the standalone Starbucks in the parking lot fairly novel as this was the first time I had seen this kind of set up at a service station. read more

Made a pit stop here to get some food. They had a Burger King, Tim Hortons, and Popeyes, as well as the little market. Overall it was fairly clean. Due to COVID-19, there is still no dine in. There is a Canadian tire gas station nearby and a new Starbucks that is in its own building! read more

Odessa OnRoute #1172, Odessa, ON, Canada. One thing about these OnRoutes is that they are well positioned and easy to stop at on our way toward Montreal on 7/3/17. With the comforts of a clean washroom and plenty of food choices inside the big glass building, it is easy to see why so many travelers rest here. Parking was easy and we used the refueling service station to top off our fuel tank. We think the OnRoutes are a great way for weary travelers to take a much needed break. read more

The men's bathroom was DISGUSTING!!! Toilet paper all over the floor, 3/7 of the cubicles didn't have toilet paper, you could write your name in the dirt in the sinks, and 2 sinks didn't have soap!! By far my worst OnRoute experience. Even in the parking lot there was garbage all over. HORRIBLE! read more

Great for an on route. Doesn't provide an abundance of food choices. You. An choose from pizza pizza, Tims, Burger King and the market convenience. Not very impressed with the Tims, the only filled up the cup 1/2 way *insert rolling eyes* Washrooms are tidy, well the ladies. Don't know about the gents. Sorry guys! lol. There is a microwave in the middle of the seating area. A gentleman just cleaned it. So I'll say it's maintained. Great if you're traveling with a family or with babies. Or if you yourself wants to heat up a momma's meal! Well got my coffee, 1/2 cup that is...and an interesting chive and cheese bagel....not bad but didn't have the chive taste I desired. Closest rest stop after the border crossing at Wellesley Island going towards Toronto. Clean area, plenty of parking, the usual suspects in terms of food and coffee. read more

I like ONroutes overall, sorta like a toll plaza without the tolls. We stopped for Tim Hortons, bano, and changing drivers. Our Tim's damage was a chai latte and a small mocha for me. read more

My sister paid in advance but those racist old trashy hicks still had to stare her down while pumping gas? Why? She did not even have a bag so she clearly wasn't armed, oh that's right, she's black. They were condescending, rude, grumpy and downright ignorant. They tried to tell her there are laws about pumping gas and being on a phone. It is a suggestion, google it and prove me wrong but it is NOT an official law in Ontario. They were just looking for something to complain about because they are bored with all their privilege. Even if it WERE a law, they could say it kindly. If they don't know how to do that then they should find a job in a cubicle where they don't need to interact with humans. I also don't know why they needed two people there who CLEARLY were not social distancing, probably for back up when us black people get out of control. Other than CORNWALL (the Mecca of on routes), I can say that my experience at the Odessa On Route was pleasant. I went to the A&W, and oh boy, was it delicious! I ordered a grilled jizz sandwich, which was simply out of this world. 10/10 would recommend to a friend! read more
