Onion rings are great. Considering I've just been talking about the Hard Rock Café who serve a particularly awesome brand of ring, I was inspired to talk about Onion Ring, the website. Well, I genuinely don't know why it's called Onion Ring. I've trawled around for information with no explanation, so if you have any theories, please feel free to offer them. Meanwhile it's a restaurant listings site based in Warrington with news, reviews and places to get booze.
It's free too, and because of the hole left in my heart by Manchester Confidential (I'll come to that later... *seethes*) I need a new Manchester outing and dining resource. The site itself covers most of the North West - Lancashire and the Lakes, Cheshire, Liverpool and so on, and is helpfully sectioned off into categories like 'offers and discounts', 'venues', 'hotels', 'Valentine's Day' and similar. Clicking on the Manchester restaurants page brings up a restaurant of the week with a business approved listing, a Top 5 For... list (at the moment it's 'a romantic meal'), competitions, upcoming events, restaurant news and lots more. The orange theme can be a little overbearing, but hey, at least it's free.
There's a reason why restaurants clamour to get listed on this site. It clearly attracts visitors and is bound to attract a lot more now Man Con has gone paid. Now's the time to take a look at Onion Ring and find out where you should eat this week, before it follows suit. Hey, if we wanted to pay for our restaurant advice we'd go out and buy guides. Oh wait... I already did that... *facepalm*. read more
