They really try to incorporate a lot of practical life learning. Our son absolutely loves it. They are also very good about posting updates in the Procare app. We get to see when his diapers are checked and/or changed, when and how much he's eaten his snacks and lunch. In particular, I cannot say enough good things about Ms. Amanda's Toddler classroom. Our daughter came home weekly with beautifully crafted art projects and we received regular photo updates from the Procare app, which gave us peace of mind when she was so little. She also began potty training around 25 months old when Ms. Amanda noticed that she showed interest, and I attribute her potty training success to the consistent effort and support reinforced by her and the rest of the teachers. Another positive is that our very picky eater has been a big fan of the hot lunch program, which is cooked on-site (thanks Ms. Gene!) I would remove a star as there was quite a bit of staff turnover right as our daughter switched into the Pre-Primary classroom. This was unfortunate as the ever-changing staff made the transition more challenging for our child, and she had a bit of a regression. However, once Ms. Nona was instated as the main teacher, she was patient and worked with our daughter, meeting her at her level until she got over the hump. Though we're sad to leave Little Acorn, we're grateful that this program set our daughter up with such a great foundation. We will miss all the teachers at Little Acorn!

He started at 2 1/2, and it was a big transition for him -- he was an only child, still on a pacifier, not yet potty trained, and very used to being "babied" at home. The teachers and Director Melina were so supportive and patient during that period. They guided us with strategies for home, encouraged his development, and even helped us through a smooth, seamless potty-training journey. Fast forward to now: he's 4 1/2, and the difference is incredible. His language, motor skills, and overall development have grown so much. He's always been a friendly, energetic little boy, and we've seen real improvement in his focus, social skills, and participation in class. We're constantly amazed by what he knows and what he comes home excited to share. The teachers are caring, nurturing, and professional, and Director Melina truly runs the school with heart. The Montessori curriculum is impressive -- structured, hands-on, and tailored to each child's pace -- while still creating a warm and loving environment. Most importantly, our son is genuinely happy, confident, and thriving. We are so grateful for the impact Angels Montessori has had on him, and we are already planning to enroll our daughter when she turns two. We highly recommend this school to any family looking for a supportive, well-rounded environment where children are encouraged to grow, learn, and shine.

Our experience at this center was disappointing and concerning, particularly given how important…read morequality childcare is for young children. Particularly children who struggle developmentally. One of the biggest issues was the lack of leadership. The director was frequently not onsite and vacationing most of the time, and when she was away there did not appear to be an appropriate and qualified staff member in charge. This created a sense of disorganization and lack of accountability. Communication with one of my daughter's teachers was also very poor. During our scheduled parent meetings, there was no agenda, no preparation, and no meaningful feedback about our daughter's development. As parents, we had to lead the entire discussion and ask questions just to understand how she was doing. The teacher often sat quietly without offering insights or observations, which was extremely concerning. We were very transparent from the beginning that our daughter had a speech delay. The director reassured us that it would not be a problem and that she was still very young. In retrospect, The focus was more on enrollment and tuition rather than partnering with us on how to help her progress. Later, when we were already transitioning out, the director scheduled a meeting to discuss my daughter's behavior and mentioned that she had been "loud" at the beginning. This was frustrating and contradictory to our initial meeting regarding enrollment-My daughter was nonverbal. If there were concerns, they should have been communicated much earlier so we could have addressed them to provide support to our child appropriately. To be fair, there were two teachers who genuinely cared and made a positive impression. One teacher in particular, Shayna, demonstrated real compassion and attention toward my daughter. During a parent meeting she led, she provided thoughtful feedback and spoke very positively about my daughter's development. The difference in care and engagement between her and the other teacher was very noticeable, and she was the one person who truly made us feel comfortable. I hope that she got the recognition she deserved. The last few months were extremely stressful for our family. I was pregnant at the time, and securing dependable childcare is not easy. During that period, one teacher who was often very cold toward us sent a video of my daughter crying and rolling on the floor and followed it with a text stating that my daughter was giving her a headache. This was incredibly uncomfortable and felt very unprofessional to receive as parents. We ultimately decided to enroll our daughter in another center and immediately noticed a significant difference in structure, engagement, organization, and communication. Our daughter later received an autism diagnosis and has developmental delays. Looking back, we wish we had received clearer observations and developmental feedback earlier so that we could have pursued more intervention and additional support sooner. It's been a few years and I feel that I owe this to all parents. I initially considered sharing this feedback privately with the director, but communication was limited to her personal email rather than a professional email. For that reason, I felt it was important to leave a public review so other parents can be aware of these concerns as they evaluate childcare options for their children.

My older sister's son had attended this school years ago (under previous management) and had a wonderful experience, so it was already on my radar. I reached out and spoke with Mrs. Dima (owner). During our first call, I had to hang up quickly because my son needed me. To my surprise and relief, Mrs. Dima followed up with me -- and I'm so glad she did. Finding reliable care was something I had been struggling with, and her call made all the difference. She explained that she and her mother-in-law were now the new owners, but some of the original staff remained -- including Teacher Jeremiah, who had taught my nephew. That instantly gave me a sense of comfort and familiarity. When I toured the school, I learned that Mrs. Dima's own son attended as well -- and that my son would be in the same group. Knowing she would be present eased so much of my anxiety. The first week was a tough transition for my little one (as expected), but the teachers and staff were incredibly patient and caring. I received daily updates, both in person from his teachers and through thoughtful text messages from Mrs. Dima (owner). The school also uses a parent portal that shares updates and photos -- such a wonderful way to feel connected throughout the day. The activities are creative and engaging for the children, and they even involve parents in fun ways. Recently, the school began offering lunch, which has been a huge help for me as a working parent. I'm also grateful for how supportive the team has been with my son's speech delay -- his therapist visits the school, and the teachers work closely with her to help him make progress. This school has made my first-time mom nerves settle so much. My son is happy, learning, and building relationships -- and we feel part of a caring community. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a nurturing, engaging, and supportive environment for their child.

Our daughter was in Ms. Kenia and Ms. Citlally's class, and the growth we've witnessed has been remarkable. The environment they cultivate is exactly what we had hoped for. A special thank you to Ms. Susie and Ms. Ivy for their dedication and kindness. Enriching Afterschool Program: We were very impressed with the breadth of their afterschool offerings, which included wonderful exposure to Spanish, Mandarin, and Yoga. Outstanding Communication: One thing we truly appreciate is how great IMA is at communicating with parents. This clear and proactive communication made us feel connected and informed every step of the way. We are truly sad to be leaving IMA. Our son's teachers were also our daughter's when she attended. We speak highly of the school to all of our parent-friends in the area and always encourage a visit when they're looking to start their child's school journey. We loved our experience and feel our kids were well prepared going into their new schools.

We made the right decision to stay with Meher. The school went above an beyond to wrap around its impacted families during this crisis. When we were displaced we were even invited into a zoom class room so the kids could stay connected to their classmates. They did not fall behind, and had a loving environment to return to when we came home. We trust their approach to normal misbehavior and conflict between kids, and the kids trust that when they are there their needs are met. The structure is comforting for them and the lessons engaging. We love that the school has a loving and professional approach to child development. We feel there is a real investment in our kids learning how to do things on their own, which we have noticed contributes to their confidence and eagerness to discover and learn. The teaching staff is well versed and continuously learning how to be great teachers. It is not "childcare" it is truly school in a way that sets the kids up for confidence and success. Until the age of two, we were able to nurture his love of creativity through art, get him engaged in reading and music, and keep him active and independent while learning at home, but his social-emotional growth needed a community like Modern Schoolhouse to truly develop. We met another family at his favorite playground that had an AMAZING experience at Modern Schoolhouse and their daughter, who was academically gifted and raised with similar philosophies, was thriving under their care. We enrolled and discovered for ourselves that Modern Schoolhouse was indeed an absolute gem for child development. Our son entered after turning two, and he was very shy/reserved at the time. The talking, dancing, singing, bilingual artist that blew us away with his funny ideas and love of learning at home, needed help expressing himself in the larger group. Over the next several years, Leonardo was able to grow and thrive his ability to emotionally self-regulate, from having a 'safe space' at home to being able to identify what he was feeling and how to 'calm his body,' to listening to others and respecting common space. What we didn't anticipate was not just the top quality of the school, the clean aesthetic spaces, and the exceptional teachers (Teacher Alicia from class 3 was truly amazing!!), but also the like minded and kind community that became a key part of our son's social life. During our son's first years at home, we studied Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia- instituting some principles of each in our approach at home. It wasn't until we met Sue and her philosophies at Modern Schoolhouse did we see some of these same philosophies embodied in an American child care setting; and we must have interviewed or toured at 5 or more local schools before finding Modern Schoolhouse. The core beliefs consist of the idea that children are competent, capable, curious individuals with hundreds of ways of self expression. The role of the school and family should be creating a structured, clean, and aesthetic environment that is conducive stimulating exploration and discovery. Teachers in this sense guide and foster collaboration rather than just 'delivering information.' Giving our son a new challenge was hard at first, but Sue and her staff were quick to offer suggestions and outside resources so we could reinforce some lessons at home, especially around his development of social/emotional skills like managing anger, dealing with disappointment, and learning to communicate when he needed space. He also was given the chance to learn how to build relationships and have positive interactions with new friends. Each 'season' and month had different themes that would be clearly delivered in monthly/quarterly emails along with chances to meet with teachers on child progress in key development areas of language, tracing, use of scissors, how to put on shoes/jackets, counting, class participation/listening, and emotional self expression. By class 3 (3 years old and above), our son was giving 'show and tell' presentations, using the 'sharing bee' to discuss their weekend, and playing inventive games to stimulate imagination and curiosity. Through the use of brightwheel, we were always shown photos and videos of our son having fun with friends and doing some fun activity. The school also offered many events at the school such as the "annual art show," "parent and me" day, and music sessions from Teacher Gaia culminating in a student led music performance (the cutest!). This year all the 4 classes made their own animal costumes and acted out various Disney themes. It was extraordinary to see him flourish and thrive under Teacher Alicia in class 3, who is truly remarkable for her ability to connect to kids and meet them where they are on the journey. By the end he was more confident in his presentations and even singing his favorite Disney songs Karaoke style to the class! Everything ended on a wonderful note with his graduation and small speech to parents and the graduating class. We were given an opportunity for a graduation photoshoot and his 'family book' with messages from all of the teachers as a keepsake that he created during his time there. As he graduated before many of the others in class 3, everyone created a special hand painted art for him with with the handprints of all his friends. It is bittersweet to go onto the next chapter, but he graduated school scoring high in every single metric of development, and he easily was interviewed and accepted into an international private school. Thanks you for being such a key part of his childhood journey and we hope to stay in touch with Leonardo and our growing family!

Initially, we had some concerns about starting him so young, but it quickly became clear that enrolling him early was the right choice. He is truly thriving--emotionally, mentally, and intellectually. The curriculum at TMS is incredibly well thought out. Each activity clearly connects to the weekly or daily theme, and we've seen real growth in our son's development. He's starting to learn the alphabet and has become much more verbal since he began. What stands out even more is how happy our child is at TMS. Every photo we receive through the app shows him smiling, and we always feel confident dropping him off, knowing he's in caring and capable hands. The teachers, staff, and owner (Sue) are exceptional. Our son absolutely adores his teachers and lights up when we mention their names in the morning. Even though he's usually very attached to us, he was so excited to see his teacher at the Annual Art Show that he practically leaped from my arms to greet her. That kind of connection is exactly what every parent hopes for in a school: a place where your child feels loved and supported. On top of all this, the school is extremely clean. Our son has hardly been sick, and we've noticed how attentive the staff is to hygiene--little ones always have their noses wiped, diapers changed very frequently and the environment is clearly well-maintained. TMS is far beyond a typical daycare--it's a place where our child is growing, learning, and genuinely happy.
