One80 is trying to be a hip salon, yet it always felt a bit stuffy to me. There's no doubt the decor is chic, but that's not really why one goes to a salon. The shampooers are generally pleasant and hey, they offer complimentary coffee or water while you wait! The product is nice and probably expensive, but this place never won me over. No one seems to be having a good time at One80. The receptionist was very helpful in setting me up with a stylist, though, and it's that stylist I've followed to a different salon. If you do go to One80, remember to bring cash--they don't accept tips on cards and they won't overcharge your card and give you cash back, either. read more

After discovering that my hair savior (Heather at Trim) is moving out of the area, leaving me with no stylist, I pored over reviews on Yelp and decided to try Fred at One80. And I think I may have found my new stylist. Not only did I love my haircut, but he also took the time to really examine my hair and figure out what would and wouldn't work for it. I always want more volume in my hair, and pretty much every stylist I've gone to has told me to get layers -- which I do, and then I see no difference. Fred immediately told me that he was NOT going to recommend layers, because the texture of my hair is so smooth (!) that it wouldn't make any difference. He also explained to me how my hair texture was keeping other things from having an impact (back-combing, certain products, etc.). He has solved a lifelong hair mystery for me, one that no other stylist has ever explained to me. And the cut is great. Highly recommended! read more

I have been a faithful customer of One80 for over five years, and have received many of the services that the salon offers. I started as a client of the amazing Tyler Chanet. She was able to cut, style and blowdry my coarse/coily natural hair in a way that left it feeling sleek and soft. I always left her chair feeling like an absolute movie star, so make sure that you bring your big sunglasses for your walk out of One80. Tyler herself is very warm and knowledgable. Although I have not had one of her fabulous blowouts in a while, she has always been willing to give me tips and suggestions for how to maintain and style my hair in its naturally coarse/coily state. Come to think of it...maybe it's time for one of Tyler's blowouts! :-) Marina is an absolute gem. I have been seeing her for three years for all of my mani/pedi and waxing needs. Her attention to detail is unmatched, I get shellac with her once a month and a classic manicure/pedicure with her once a month as well. My regular manicures last at least a week thanks to her careful nail prep and other magic that she performs. And her shellac manicures have never chipped. She is also precise with waxing, and understands what it means to allow your eyebrows to grow in a bit. She's made wonderful suggestions for treatments that will help to prepare me for my wedding day! To gush just a little more, her warmth and compassion is unparalleled. She has been my therapist, advisor, sounding board and friend for many years, and I appreciate her tremendously! You can tell that Remy and Jeremy take great pride in the space and their staff. The salon (and staff, for that matter) are lovely! The space is also impeccable and beautifully designed. You are, and will always feel welcome, and everyone you encounter makes you feel like the most important client in the salon. I have been getting my hair done at Salon 180 for the past six months, and I have had only fantastic experiences with my colorist and other salon staff! I moved to the DC area last summer, and was very anxious about finding someone great to color my hair; I had been with the same colorist for years. I am a Redhead, and it is beyond difficult to get our color right. I am so happy to say that my 180 colorist, Derrick (the Genius), has given me jaw dropping gorgeous color (deftly weaving highlights and lowlights), that still looks natural!! It is the best I've ever had and believe me, I have had the "best"!! Derrick is just as brilliant with the blondes and brunettes I have seen him do. He is truly gifted. Shannon, 180's manager, is always personable, professional, and makes you feel like one of the family. Everyone who works at 180 seems happy to be there, and will gladly give you assistance, tips on styling, etc. even though you are not their client. Honestly, it is a joy to go to Salon 180. And, everyone I have seen walk in there, walks out looking like a million bucks. Run, don't walk, to Salon 180 if you want to be transformed by the Creme de la Creme!! read more

Cynthia is amazing for color. I was bored with my blah brunette hair and told Cynthia to do whatever she wanted: red, blonde, whatever, just make it pretty. She read between the lines and realized what I really wanted was a subtle enhacement of my natural color, making it a deeper brown with natural looking balayage highlights. It takes a talented colorist to have that restraint and I was grateful because frankly, I can't afford a high-maintenence color. It looked better than I could have imagined and the color continued to look great as it grew out -- I didn't have to come back if I didn't want to. For cuts, I finally found a stylist (Fred) who respects the fact that I want long hair and only cuts off as much as necessary to keep it healthy and well shaped. Most stylists I've tried get scissor-happy and chop off a couple inches, making it so that I've never been able to grow my hair out much past my shoulders. Since going to Fred, my hair is the longest AND the healthiest it's ever been. The service is also over the top. I once had a 30 minute gap between my color and cut, and the shampoo girl offered me a free conditioning treatment while I waited. Cynthia brought me lunch from Cosi while I was getting the treatment. I felt very pampered! In sum, my hair has never looked better. I recently moved to a new city and am coming back to DC to get my hair done at one80. read more

The owners just remodeled the salon. I WISH they would spend some funds on more comfortable chairs for guests to sit in during color treatments!!! My stylist said they get complaints all the time. Those things are inhumane....skinny cushion, plexiglass back frame, no foot rest.... bad, bad chair. Color treatments can take 1-2 hours! The shampoo chairs are equally bad. I would rather have the old paint and decor, and more comfortable seating. read more

One80 salon is simply superb. The stylists are friendly, and if Roger Mudd is a good example, incredibly skilled and knowledgable about hair. I was looking for a nice salon in DC (as I frequently end up forgetting to get a haircut and so end up doing so on vacation.) While there were a number of highly rated salons on Yelp, I decided to cross-reference with a second source, in this case, a list from Allure of the best salons in the DC area. One80 came highly recommended from Allure, and on relatively short notice (basically 24 hours notice), was able to fit me in for a morning appointment with one of their stylists. On the phone, the woman booking my appointment specifically asked me about the length and texture of my hair so that they could match me with an appropriate stylist. Roger Mudd, the stylist who worked on my hair, did a fantastic job on my hair. He began by sitting me down and asking me a bit about what I was looking for in my haircut. We had a nice discussion and based on that he helped me identify the type and style of haircut I wanted. Then, Roger passed me off to another woman who washed and conditioned my hair. Roger then cut my hair. He was incredibly professional and polite. I ended up going with a layered cut that took 2 inches off of my hair, and he ended up even adjusting my cut to be a bit shorter. He also blew out my hair beautifully and left me delighted with the cut. One80 left me feeling appropriately pampered and I'd happily go back for my next haircut. read more

I just have to comment on how different, and awesome, One80 is. Let me say that I am super picky about my hair. I don't want streaky, cheap, damaging, crap highlights and I am willing to pay up. I want Gwyneth Paltrow, and that is what Heather delivers! My breakthrough to finding One80 came after spending thousands of dollars over the years for great hair color at Urban Style Lab. I was denied an "emergency" coloring when I needed it desperately. The receptionist there didn't even blink when I begged and said I was a regular and this was a serious situation. She just said, "Nope. No appointments this WEEK." Didn't offer to check with my colorist, nothing. You can imagine my relief at finding an opening, made for me, a NEW client, at the already booked-up but accomodating One80! Another bonus is that One80 is only 5 blocks from my place in Logan Circle. Heather is not only a sweetheart (low-key, funny, super nice), she is an ace colorist, and I am one picky blonde-from-a-bottle. She whipped my sad strands right back into shape. My friends ALL commented on how great my hair looked. Not like I had just gotten a color, but like,"Hey, did you go to the beach recently?" So I am a believer, and you will be too. I have been heading back there for color AND cuts from Jordan for about 5 months now and am never looking back. They take their time, use high quality products, and make you look and feel like a princess. I have a glass of wine with my services and wander slowly home after. Sigh! read more

First, a disclaimer, I've never gotten my haircut at One80 Salon. But that hasn't stopped me from recommending friends to go. I came across One80 after questioning the stylish fashion of one of my male coworkers. He couldn't stop singing the praises of the shop, especially Fred and Remi, who he spoke dearly of. With my coworker's endorsement in mind, I recommended One80 to two of my close female friends and went with them, on seperate trips, to witness their transformation. One had a simple haircut and blow, while the other had a cut and coloring. Let me tell you, the staff here was top rate, and both girls testified that this was the best cut they've ever received. One80 may not be cheap, but it's certainly worth it. (Fred is a genius, btw.) read more

I've been a infrequent client of Salon One80's since it opened while I was in college. I vividly remember the opening of the salon with the champagne chilling in the shampoo sinks (they were brand new people, just relax!). After a long identity crisis of the hair color kind, I decided now is the time for me to go red. I've wanted to transform my tresses since the opening of the Little Mermaid as a child (when I asked my mom to call me Ariel she adamantly refused). My friend still works there and told me if I want to go red, it Derek I need to see, known for his transformations from Julianne Hough to Julianne Moore. I showed him what I wanted and off we went. A toner and a dye later, my hair was exactly the shade I asked for. It looked amazing. Hindsight says I couldn't gone brighter, but playing it safe was definitely the way to go. I am obsessed with being a redhead and everyone thinks it's natural! Next time I am in DC it is definitely time for a refresher. read more

While Derek definitely gets 5 stars for color, i've had sub par experiences with hair cuts and blow drys (a French guy, don't remember his name) so I can't give the salon overall 5 stars... Ok 2nd updated review - Heather is consistently doing an outstanding job on the color, but I haven't gone back for any cuts (yet). Everyone on staff is friendly, professional, and make you feel welcome. Figured out this last time that I can get a pedi while my color is being done, so that's a key piece of information - I heard another customer talking about the outstanding pedi she got, so apparently they are special, and I will treat myself to one next time. Perhaps we can get this rating up to 5 stars yet. I have withheld 1 star based on the silly little thing that one time after color (no cut) they charged me $50 for a blow dry, so this time I made sure not to get that, but it still feels odd to dry your own hair (or leave wet). I've never experienced this little idiosyncrasy with a hair shop, but they are always very busy, so maybe I just need to get with the program. ha. read more

I came in for my color with Jeremy and cut with Remi- and there was a snafu with my cut appointment- a miscommunication- a misunderstanding--- whatever. The bottom line was that Remi was not even in that day and it looked like everyone else was booked and I would have to come back for my cut. I was unhappy but "it was what it was". The font desk let Jeremy know about the misunderstanding and he made it clear that my time was just as valuable as theirs and worked with Markell (who had stopped in on his day off) and arranged for me to get my cut first while Jeremy waited to do my color. Markell was gracious and attentive and gave me a great cut, and Jeremy did his usual magic with my color. He clearly put my cut as a priority over his schedule and he did it with grace, humor and respect. It didn't hurt that Lucia gave me the worlds best head and neck massage and deep conditioning treatment :) There was some sort of mistake in scheduling to be sure (either theirs's or mine)- but Jeremy and team made sure that I was not negatively impacted by it. I went to Salon One80 today for the first time today and I could not be more pleased with the experience. I saw Derrick for color and he did an amazing job. It is exactly what I asked for which I really appreciate. He put time, effort and energy into my color and it definitely shows. I asked to be a blond and the outcome is spectacular- the color has so much depth (never thought I would say that). It was a little pricey but well worth it. The salon itself is great and so were the other stylists. I had fun talking to Derrick and the other stylists. When we weren't talking I watched the food network on the little flat panel TV's they have by the coloring stations and ate chocolate. It may be the best overall salon experience I've had to date and I definitely plan on going back. read more

Fred recently cut my hair and he spent time reviewing with me options before he started. I had a great shampoo. The hair style I left the salon with is very different from what I had when I arrived. Since my recent visit to one180, I have heard only compliments and even better, how young I look with this style. I think a hair cut instead of plastic surgery is the way to go from now on. I am a devotee of one180. Thank you Fred. Sorry the salon does not allow charges to credit cards to cover tips. That tripped me up on a previous visit. The craft and art of the shears seems to be slipping away when it comes to a man's cut. I've been to numerous salons in my native Maryland looking for a stylist who will do me right by honing something that wasn't powered by electricity - and I've discovered that it's very rare. The results between using clippers and shears is not the same. Using shears requires much more technique and finesse and it's what separates a stylist from a barber. I personally search for Japanese stylists because they seem to understand my hair type, which is thick, heavy, and hard. But finding one in the DC area let alone Maryland is a difficult find, so at this point, I've given up and just want to find someone who has skill, whether they're Japanese or not. I've bookmarked 3 different styles that I'll rotate between from beauty-box.jp and I'll show them to senior stylist and they all say the same, "Okay, I can do that" and they don't deliver. The result always ends the same way and it'll be no different than if I went to the Hair Cuttery. I want my hair thinned out up top (no one understands this). I want texture and personality (no one understands this), but I also want clean and professional (they always give me a crew cut). Only two out of the many "stylists" that I've visited can deliver this: Tomoki (Hairdates, NYC) and Remi (One80 Salon, DC) and what separates these real stylists from the others is their use of shears for a men's cut. I showed Remi a picture and he ran his hands through my hair and understood it. I told him it's very heavy up top and that I wanted it thinned out and to give me texture so I can make it messy with the sides short, but not tight. He studied my hair and the picture and delivered. He used multiple shears and techniques to give me the results I wanted. It wasn't $70 dollars for a no.1 on the sides and no.2 up top with some clippers. Remi put in work that requires skill. This is a Frenchman who listens and has perfected his craft. He takes his time and does what you want him to. If you're someone looking for an accurate haircut as a discerning gentleman, then Remi is your guy. $70 dollars (w/o tip of course), is no small fee, especially if you're only looking for something as simple as a crew cut. Style and execution come at a price and you have take it for what it's worth. For me, it's worth every penny. Oh yea, the receptionist is friendly. The establishment is clean, bright, and updated. They give you water in a glass wine tumbler. They don't give cash back for debit, so make sure you have cash for the tip. read more

I have lived in the DC. area for the last 10 years, and this is the first time I have ever walked out of a salon feeling FABULOUS about how my hair looked and felt!! I moved here from Chicago where I had a fabulous hair salon right off Michigan Ave. While I never brag about anything I can honestly say my hair was gorgeous, where I use to have people stop me in the mall/work/street to ask me where I got my hair done. Since moving to DC. ten years ago I have been trying for the last ten years to find someone local to highlight and style my hair, where I would get that "Fabulous Hair" back. Well about 4 months ago I had my hair wrecked "AGAIN" at another local DC. salon, and that is when I had enough! I went online to professional hair care sites and social media sites to research/find the "Best Salon" in DC. Every site pointed me to salon One80. 6 weeks ago I booked my apt with Jeremy Buchanan for color and Surreal for a cut, and even though it almost "killed" me I patiently waited for the apt to come up. What drove me to stick it out and wait were the reviews on how the clients all left feeling wonderful about their cut and color. I walked into the salon this afternoon and was graciously greeted by the front desk (which as you all know is NOT the norm in DC.), and then Jeremy came up immediately to get me for my consultation. He looked at my skin tone as well as my hair, and went into specifics about how he was going to fix my color. After to listening to that I agreed to move forward with the process. 3 hours later and a wonderful hair cut/blow dry from Surreal, I was looking in the mirror at a woman with BEAUTIFUL HAIR! I can not tell you how HAPPY I am with the results. My total price was $300 for everything, but it was worth EVERY NICKLE!! Roger is an absolute gem. A friend recommended him and I've gone to see him twice in the past month. I've been thrilled both times with how my hair turned out (fabulously) and how I feel when I leave his chair (like I just caught up with an old friend/fantastic therapist). Since it has been several months since I wrote my original review, I wanted to provide an update. I have continued to go to one80 for my coloring needs (I have a standing appointment every six weeks with Cynthia). I really like the salon - I go to another place (that are curly hair specialists) for my haircuts, but nothing beats one80 for color. The service is always friendly (including the front desk), they are very good about confirming appointments in advance using phone/text/email, and there is a nice selection of tasty candy to enjoy while getting your hair done. But most importantly, Cynthia is the best colorist I have ever used bar none. I have naturally curly hair that can be difficult to color without getting a flat brown result. Cynthia is very detailed, asks questions, and retains notes with each visit so she can track any changes and know how to adjust as necessary. Since going to Cynthia, I often am stopped by people commenting on how much they "love my natural hair color and wish they had it" - which to me is the highest compliment for someone's colorist! In addition Cynthia is always looking at ways to better refine my color since it has now been several months since I first went to her for a correction. This is a fantastic salon...for the most part. I've been going here since they opened - I followed Fred over from Molecule and still come back whenever I need a cut and highlights even though I've since moved away from DC. Jeremy and Melissa have both done my color (full highlights, sometimes glaze) perfectly, and Fred is a really unbelievable with scissors. The only exception is Michael - I recently had a cut with him when my usual guy was booked. He arrived seeming really angry, or maybe just kinda high, and hacked my hair off in uneven chunks for about five minutes, then gave me a blow out that was so rough I later found scratches on my forehead. When I finally got up the courage to ask for more off the sides he threw down his tools and said he couldn't satisfy me, and walked away. Another stylist cleaned up his mess (I have long hair and can afford to sacrifice a couple inches). Very surreal experience all around. Anyway, other than him, can't recommend this salon enough! read more

One80 was recommended to me by my mom, yet another "Fred-o-phile." I usually don't spend more than $30 on cuts, because I stick to simple trims, but this time I wanted a new style and I didn't want to risk a low-budget disaster. Good move-- the results were absolutely worth the $85 I shelled out for bangs and long layers. (sounds naughty, right?) Michael listened carefully to everything I said before getting my hair washed, and made sure we were on the same page. We looked at some magazine pictures, agreed on a plan, and half an hour later I had a gorgeous cut! Would definitely come here again, but for just a trim, I would go some place cheaper. read more

Fred is amazing, but the salon is very mediocre for the prices they charge and I won't be returning. I got my color done by Danielle who did not really listen to me, just kept insisting she knew what I wanted. She did not even bother to show me examples. I wanted dark, chestnut, natural looking hair and after $100+ (the most I've paid for hair color in any major us city) and a weak shampoo that still left a lot of leftover color in my hair, I ended up with basic black! Which I could have done myself for $30. I would go back just for Fred, but sadly find the rest of the services so lacking that it's just not worth the trip, even for him. Also, I'm sorry but found reception here very cool. They could be a little kinder and at least treat you like a person, not a number. They seem more concerned about whether or not you are on time then how you feel as a customer. read more

Would not go anywhere else for color. Simply the best - always looks natural and people are shocked when I tell them I highlight my hair. I'm blonde, so it is easy to get terrible highlights but they do it right! The only negatives are the chairs are very uncomfortable and no one is super friendly (from the front desk to the stylists) but I overlook it because the end product is amazing. read more

I am the type of person who likes to find a stylist and stay with them - One80 is the first salon where I have loved the salon and stayed with them. I am a stickler for service and this salon has great customer service. Shannon, the salon manager, is friendly and just generally awesome. She gives off a great vibe when you walk in the salon -and is very helpful when matching you with a stylist if its your first time there. Derrick does my color and Jordan cuts my hair - both fantastic. Derrick is great about listening to what you want done and if you get the same thing each time, like me, he knows it after the first session. Jordan gives hair volume like no other stylist - just ask her for some Texas hair! Its so much fun :) I would recommend them with three thumbs up. Great salon. read more

Tyler is the best stylist I've come across in years!! She takes the time to understand what you want and make suggestions accordingly. She works with all hair types and truly has mastered the art of transforming hair into a healthy state. She has been styling my hair for 7 years...I have followed her from one salon to the next...and I will follow her to the ends of the world if I have to!!! Don't even get me started on her organic hair products....SIMPLY AMAZING!!! I hate writing negative reviews but I also believe if you found a place on Yelp you should share your experience with other Yelpers, so here goes: Today is Tuesday and I had my appointment on Friday so I would guess that's enough cooling off time. This review is 100% for the business side of this salon. I just moved from LA to DC and was super excited to try One80 based on the Yelp reviews. I'm used to spending a lot of money on my hair and having a good experience with the salon as well as my colorist and/or stylist. I called and asked for an appointment for cut and color (told my appointment was at 9:30am and to be there at 9:15am, no problem, hang up), then wait 3 weeks until my appointment arrives. I show up at 9:10am just because I respect peoples time and don't expect people waiting on me. Yay, the day is finally here. Peter, who did my color greets me and we do our consultation. No complaints AT ALL. He was great, listened to me and the color turned out great too. (Sorry Peter that you were never able to see the finished product). Color is pretty much finished up so I naturally thought we would be moving along to cut. This was at NOON. They moved me over to get shampooed then left me there. I had my head in the shampoo bowl for so long I honestly started to get concerned that something might even be wrong with my hair. I had my phone with me and it was 1:00PM (because texting my friends and asking if this was normal was really all I had left to do at this point, they assured me it was not). Almost 4 hours after my arrival at the salon and I had just been told that Kelly Marie still had another guests cut ahead of me. My neck was starting to hurt and my hair just dripping in a bowl. Then I was told that my haircut appointment was made for 1:30PM (never communicated to me as this never would have worked since I was going out of town at 3:30PM). So my haircut was made for 4 hours after my color? Never in my life have I even been at a salon for 4 hours (color + cut) and so far my hair had only been colored and I was still waiting. Was I going to be there 5 or 6+ hours?? With cut and styling still to go?? I watched people come and go past me, one after another (it was like that scene from Friends when Rachel is having here baby). So one last go at trying to get the neck spasms to stop from laying there for so long and I had to go. I asked them to shampoo me and I left to go on my vacation, wet hair and all, wallet $250 lighter. The receptionist did come running after me while I waited for my Uber and apologized and wanted to see if I could come back in so Peter could see my color but I had had enough. I asked her if this was normal and she said no that there was a scheduling error. So, that at least made me feel better so I didn't think I was losing my mind in the Twilight Zone of hair salons. So, today rolls around (and I'm rocking some beautiful color and an at home blowout) and I receive a call from the manager, Natalie. She wanted to check on me to see how I liked my color and let me know since I was "short on time" (whatttt) that I could reschedule my haircut. I relayed to her my experience and she proceeded to tell me that's just normal for a salon. Hmmm... never in my past experience but okay. Here's my biggest issue: Zero communication that I had a 9:30am color appointment THEN a 1:30PM hair cut until I had already been there for 4 hours then sitting on the phone trying to justify it when even your receptionist admitted there was a problem. If 6+ hours in a salon is the new normal, no thanks, I'm out. So, if you like waiting around for long periods of time trying to hold your neck in a certain position to keep from shooting pain (then paying a premium for it) this is the place for you and I absolutely recommend Peter because he is actually a pretty legit colorist. For me, I will stick to my normal 3.5+ hour experience, without a follow up chiropractor appointment and find a new salon (le sigh...). read more

I had the opportunity to work at one80 for about two years, reading this negative comments from clients it does not makes me happy. . I just want to say that in my time spent at one80 the staff was highly trained, with regular classes, and they were all capeable of doing things, real and unreal. To the potential clients: don't let anyone give a wrong picture of one80 salon, just make sure that you are clear about what you want. Being a hairdresser myself i have to say that most of those clients whom are unhappy with what they get it's because they somehow were not able to explein what they wanted. Melissa Murphy is AMAZING! I've been going to her for a while now to get my hair dyed auburn. Before I went to Melissa I used to see Heather, who was also very good at reds, but she moved away from the area. It's really, really difficult to find a good colorist - especially for reds since they're so easy to screw up - but I've lucked out. Melissa is amazing - even better than Heather was at reds, although I know she does blondes and brunettes as well. She makes my hair look completely natural - like it did when I was younger before it got more brown than red. It's dyed auburn, so it looks brownish in dark lighting (like natural auburn hair would) but is clearly redder when the sun is up/normal lights are on. I constantly get compliments on my hair, and no one ever suspects that it's not natural. She gives my hair a lot of depth. She's great and knows a ton about different techniques, so she can make things look really natural or not, depending on what you want. She's really skilled and she's an American Board Certified Haircolorist that's won awards for being a Master Haircolorist. Aside from Melissa, the rest of the staff at One80 is great! They are all so friendly, professional and helpful that I can't imagine going anywhere else! read more

So I have been going to One80 Salon after a friend would not stop raving about Remy and his staff. It also happens to be half a block from my apt, also an additional plus since I AM NEVER ON TIME for appointments. ever. I see Jordan who is a super cool girl who understands thin, baby fine hair, which I was lucky enough to be blessed with (thanks mom!) I am struggling with the 20 something dilemma, looking professional while still maintaining some individuality (i used to sport fire-engine red hair in my teens). I really hate being boring. I hate boring, lack luster haircuts. I will warn you that this is not a wash and go place. They take time on your hair. Expect to be there awhile. But then again, why would you want someone to rush through cutting your hair? They often will offer a drink, and if you are getting your hair colored there during the week, you can order from Cosi and someone will bring it over. pretty sweet. You will not be disappointed here. warning though, this is not a bargain hunters paradise. A wash-cut-and blowdry will set you back $80. But you pay for quality in this city. read more

I was getting married last year and in search of someone to do hair for myself and my wedding party. I went through a trial run and everything was great, so I signed up to have everyone's hair done a month later. The day of my wedding, there was a HUGE mixup. My niece and my sister were done first but when it came to my turn, the person who did the trial had another client! It turns out that whoever booked the appointments didnt book me with the girl who did my trial. WTF. I sat there paitently for over an hour.. and only after I started to cry did they rush things up. In the meantime, the guy who was doing my sister's hair, who was a total snob, and although she was complaining about how it looked, he said it was too late for him to change it. To prevent more chaos, I told him to redo her hair and that I'd pay for 2 sessions for her hair. My hands were tied. In the end she still hated her hair. I hated my hair too. The best hair I've ever had. What more can I say? I am inveterate salon hopper. Always looking for the place, and the stylists, who will make my very fine, and stick straight, dishwater colored hair look good, not once. not twice. but EVERY time. Well. After more years than I will admit, I have found that place. I can now pretend I have fabulous hair. Easy to style. I can skip day - no problem. Some specifics: Heather is a wonderful colorist. I color my hair a dark copper shade. Anyone with experience can tell you - that red is the hardest shade. They use Loreal Majarel (sp?) products, and it comes out great and lasts every single time. Remi - is - the best hairstylist, bar none, I've ever tried. My hair cut even grows out well. The salon is lovely too - though it would be a lot more pleasant if they got rid of the many TV screens.
