I first tried One Tea last week and I've already been back for the second time! They have two entrances -- on in the front with street parking and the back from the lot. When you enter through the back, you see the seating area with ample seating and space (a great place for a hangout with friends). Staff is super nice and you quickly get your drinks after you order. The drinks are really good, too, even compared to the several boba spots in SGV. The One Tea house blend is a darker roasted tea with notes of barley. I got 50% sweetness for the milk teas and that's been the perfect amount of sweetness for enhancing the tea flavor. The strawberry yogurt is also a surprising hit amongst us all! There is a strong strawberry flavor and the yogurt has a nice tang that contrasts the sweetness of the overall drink. The matcha drink was nothing special, so I would opt for a tea here instead! Came here again to grab a quick drink! This time I tried their Mango Pomelo Smoothie (6.95). I got it 50% sweet and less ice. It comes with the tea jelly topping as well as some mango pieces and pomelo pulps. It was really good and I enjoyed it! The blended mango tasted fresh and went well with the coconut milk and toppings. I really liked the tea jelly so I will try adding that in my drink next time I come. Also I think next time even 30% sweet would be good. Their service was great as usual but I really liked how their order number call thing was working better this time. Surprisingly spacious inside! They do have a rear lot, but street parking is probably your best bet. It's definitely more of a social hangout than a quiet study spot, but the layout works well. I like how they brew the tea right in front of you! The front also has the tea leaves for you to smell before ordering drinks. I tried the One Tea Signature Blend with house milk. The description said the tea was a blend of black tea, cassia, and barley. The first sip tasted like subtle roasted cocoa then the house milk brings in a creaminess to the drink. Pretty good! I'm so glad I stopped by and tried One Tea! I remember the old boba shop before and I like how they remodeled it! It's much brighter inside One Tea. They have more seating in the back with star lights on the ceiling and a glowing moon with one seat -- such a fun and unique touch. Unfortunately, I ordered the Avomango Duo Smoothie ($6.95). It includes avocado, mango bites, coconut milk, and agar boba. This is a thick & sweet gloopy drink. The mango bites are very tart and bitter; the avocado felt nonexistent; and a potent artificial taste drips through. If renamed Alien's Slime, your imagination would likely match its flavor. I arrived at One Tea (Temple City) on Thursday (around 12:14PM). Parking is simple but busy. There's a long narrow public parking lot behind the business. It's 2 Hour Parking (7AM to 6PM) except Sunday. As mentioned staff is extremely friendly. I was repeatedly greeted multiple times with a bright smile. Staff (receipt says Julius) is very attentive and welcoming. Julius charmingly answered all my questions, and Julius worked hard. There was no line since I was the only customer. The drink took two minutes and 29 seconds. Very fast! As mentioned, I did not enjoy the Avomango Duo Smoothie ($6.95). I mostly tasted bitter & tart artificial mango. The mango bites were also extremely mushy like fruit that plops out of a can. There was barely any avocado or coconut milk taste. Fortunately, the agar boba saves this drink. The agar boba shares a soft pop with a gentle sweetness. The agar boba felt fresh & unique which somewhat assuaged my prior disgust. With ambiance, One Tea (Temple City) ranks supreme. It's absolutely gorgeous and functional. There's customer internet with password; customers need to speak to staff for password. There's a couple electrical outlets for devices. There's a gender neutral restroom. The music is also pleasant & upbeat. The location is also surprisingly spacious in the back. There's over ten tables. Also, it's very clean and well-ventilated. I found myself content just gazing at the ceiling's falling stars. Overall, One Tea (Temple City) is a "not-bad" experience. Checking out this spot for the first time after a friend's recommendation, but it didn't quite live up to the hype. Parking & Space: Finding a spot was a bit of a mission. No dedicated lot, so we had to snag street parking. The interior is tiny with very limited seating, so it's definitely more of a "grab and go" vibe than a place to hang with a large group. Drinks: We tried the Ember Roasted Oolong and the Mango Pomelo Smoothie. Unfortunately, the Oolong was a major letdown; it tasted totally watered down and definitely wasn't worth the $4.75. My friend who lives in Temple City introduced this place to me and I am obsessed!! I love cookie butter and when I found out they had a matcha version of it, I had to order! And boy am I glad I did. It is decadent, it is creamy, it is the right amount of sweetness at 70% and don't get me started on the cookie butter! The tiny pieces of it when you drink make it so yummy! I've also had their jasmine green tea, which is lighter in flavor, but still has a strong jasmine flavor, like you're getting a great drink that isn't watered down or weak. Lastly, I've had their camellia royale milk tea. It's the lightest of the 3 milk teas that I've had, but still smooth. Even though I prefer roasted tea flavors, I was impressed with their camellia royale tea too. I also recently tried their peachy rose. It was really good at 30% sugar. Just the right level of sweetness and tasted like a peach in a good way (no artificial aftertaste). So thus far, they haven't missed. Ever since I saw the signage pop up, I've been eagerly waiting for One Tea to open. The storefront, menu option, and interior made this tea shop stand out as a premium tea place - something Las Tunas/Temple City definitely could have. They're just a few doors down from Fika Fika and a few stops away from the park. Interior is super modern with bright signage and lights, lots of bright/modern signage for photo opportunities and if you walk towards the back dining room, you're kind of transported to a space-like area where the ceiling has stars, the tables/chairs are all metal, and there's a moon-like sitting area that completes the atmosphere. They're currently doing soft opening, but they have a variety of drinks. They have 12 already made drinks on their menu as well as a free-standing pure tea menu where you can opt $1 more for the option of house milk/lactose free milk. They also have milk teas topped with a coconut cloud cream. Toppings are $0.75 each, a bit pricey, but there's a good selection. I was able to try four different drinks. I will say that they're still probably working out the kinks as they just opened today. So all teas are freshly brewed, which is nice. Seemed like the sugar level was all over the place, especially with the milk teas that we ordered. Jade jasmine green tea - ordered this as a pure tea with 50% sugar and jasmine tea jelly ($4.75 + .75 for the topping). 50% sugar was perfect for me - not sweet at all, and I was able to taste the quality of the tea. It was slightly on the blander side, but not bad. Tea jelly could have used a touch more flavor, but I enjoyed this drink. Misty spring mountain tea with house milk and 50% sugar ($5.75) - this almost has an oolong taste to it. The 50% was a touch bit too sweet, but overall, I really enjoyed it. I could taste more milk than tea, but the tea flavor did come through the more I drank. Camellia royale milk tea with 100% sugar ($5.75) - ordered this for my sister at 100% sweetness, so I was surprised that it wasn't too sweet. The milk made the tea more fragrant but the camellia royale had a very distinct/unique flavor that made me want to keep sipping on the tea. I'd probably order this again at 70% sugar. House black tea with lactose free milk at 70% sugar ($5.75) - for some reason, this was way too sweet. The first sip, I got a wave of sweetness. Black tea flavor wasn't bad, but this was overall too sweet for me. Definitely will be a regular - will have to try the golden boba and the sea salt cheese foam in the near future! Workers were efficient despite it being the first day of opening. Pricewise - drink prices weren't too bad. The front is a tiny order-and-pickup zone, but walk toward the back and suddenly you're in a futuristic "I've landed on the moon" seating area. Cute, comfy, and unexpectedly vibey. Got the Orchis Oolong Coconut Cloud Milk Tea for me and a Biscoff Matcha Latte for my husband. Both survived the 10-minute drive home and tasted amazing. Mine gave Molly Tea energy but cheaper, minus the pecans, and the coconut cloud hit just right. Husband said "mm I really like this" three times, which is basically a standing ovation. A little more on the milky side. Kinda reminded me of BobaPOP's flower green milk tea. Would get again. Orchid Cloud MT. 8/10. Super fragrant oolong that blends well with the milk. So many boba shops in the SGV but I'm so glad I stopped by here. Upon walking in from the front entrance, you might think that the shop is small, however the side leads you all the way to the back to a huge seating area w/cool photo ops. I got the uji matcha latte, the thai tea w/boba & the fortunella. It does take a little bit to get your drinks because they literally brew it right then and there. The drinks were all really good and the boba was nice and chewy. My toddler accidently dropped one of the drinks before we opened it and it burst open all over the floor, I asked for a mop to clean it up myself but staff told me to not worry about it and that they'd clean it and make me a new drink. They were very nice about it even though I felt really bad. Parking lot in the back, parking on the main street (however its hard to find parking here) and also the side streets. One Tea has become my go to boba spot in Temple City for a roasted milk tea boba. I used to drive much further to get this specific tea profile, but One Tea nails it with a much easier commute. The Signature Blend is really good it has that toasted, popcorn aftertaste. One Tea has regular, traditional boba that is exactly the texture you want perfectly sweet and chewy. The staff is consistently friendly, and it's just a much more accessible way to get a high-quality drink. Definitely worthy of a visit if you enjoy this type of roasted tea. read more
