One on One Matchmaking Atlanta - Disappointing and Concerning I regret investing my time and money with One on One Matchmaking in Atlanta. While I initially joined through their singles 8@8 dinners hoping to meet quality people, the experience has been both disappointing and deeply concerning. There are consistently far more women than men at these events, and despite being introduced to a handful of their private clients, I never met anyone remotely compatible--let alone "my person." Even more troubling, two of the private matches I was introduced to showed signs of serious mental health issues--both of whom I would consider emotionally unsafe. One was ultimately banned from their events after I raised concerns. The second, more recent experience was even worse--so bad that I provided detailed feedback and never received any response. This speaks volumes. It's clear that no real background checks or psychological evaluations are done. If someone can pay to be a private client--regardless of whether they are mentally unstable, unemployed, entangled in lawsuits, or living out of their car, they're in. And they will be matched with women like me, successful, professional, and beautiful, without regard to our emotional safety or standards. This isn't thoughtful matchmaking. It's a money game. From my experience (and from talking to several other women who feel the same), their vetting process lacks intuition, discernment, and responsibility. I would be surprised if their true match success rate is even 10%. Save your money. This is not the premium service they claim it to be. read more

I used their services starting in Dec 2022 and went on 7 first dates in about 5 months. I live further from Atlanta and that proved to be a problem for most of my dates, although the matchmakers said they didn't think it would be a problem. They did communicate well and seemed like their hearts were in the right place, but I did come across some problems. Essentially, I do not think this service is good for anyone outside of the norm (i.e. neurodivergent, anyone outside of conventional beauty standards...). I asked all my dates about their experience with 1on1 and most had not yet met anyone serious either. They felt like luck just hadn't been on their side (but isn't that part of the point of using a matchmaker...?) Basically I just don't think it was worth the money ($5500 for me) since I've had about the same luck using free dating apps. I am very disappointed with my One on One Matchmaking experience. When I first came in for my initial interview, the woman interviewing me seemed rushed and like she just wanted to close the deal. I provided her with specific information about what I was looking for and she assured me they had many guys in their database that would be great matches. I was set up on three dates right off the bat, all three of whom were not great matches. The dating coordinator (not the matchmaker) would follow up with me after each date to ask what I liked/didn't like and I provided feedback. The real red flag was when they set me up on dates with men that I specifically asked they not set me up with (e.g. I was not interested in dating anyone more than 8 years older than me, they set me up with someone 15+ years my senior. I also told them I was not interested in dating anyone with children and I was set up on a date with a father). The matches they made for me felt more like they were throwing darts at pictures and matching people up that way rather than reviewing the individual's files and putting thought and care into each match. Additionally, the only time my matchmaker would talk to me was when I expressed concern about the matches they were setting me up with. I also had several emails and phone calls unanswered by the staff at One on One, which I felt was highly unprofessional. I would even ask why they felt a guy was a good match before accepting a date and none of the staff members could ever answer that question. They would simply respond by saying things like, "he's really looking forward to meeting you," "I would totally date him," or the worst offense "well, he makes a lot of money." Unfortunately, even by following up and expressing my concerns on more than one occasion, nothing changed. A friend of mine who is also a part of the service told me that the dating coordinator called her up to set her up on a date and was told point blank that she would not be attracted to the man she wanted to set her up with nor did they have much of anything in common, but that he would find her attractive and made a lot of money. She felt like she was being used as bait to help the organization bring in new clientele. It is my belief that One on One Matchmaking really does not have a very large pool of people to choose from and so they just claim that they are a personalized dating service, but in reality they are just haphazardly setting people up who have little to nothing in common. One on One Matchmaking also owns Eight at Eight and sometimes they throw social gatherings, which is a great idea. Unfortunately, these gatherings include all of their single clientele ages 20's to 50's. The issue with this is the 40/50 year old men are all over the younger women, which was uncomfortable for me. Additionally the 40/50 year old women who were present seemed very upset. I mean wouldn't you be? If I was in my 40s/50's and looking for a man, I would not want to be having to compete with 20/30 year olds. They can do that any weekend at a bar. These events really should be separated by age groups. At this point, I am seriously considering just cutting my losses and leaving the service entirely. I personally have had a lot more luck on match.com and participating in social activities. If you are not picky about who you date and have lots of money to burn then this is the service for you. She set me up on great dates with quality girls that fit my type. It was a fun process and hassle free, which is key for me since I have a very busy life with work and friends. I just joined One On One about a month or two ago, and it's been great! I met with Emily (matchmaker) before getting started, and she really listened to what I'm looking for, and set up some great matches. Anna (date coordinator) has arranged dates at some really fun restaurants, and is always helpful to talk to after the dates. The best thing is that everyone is vetted for you and the date is arranged by the service prior to any contact with the other person, so there's none of the endless texting back and forth prior to deciding whether to just meet and figure it out, which we all know too well with dating apps. My contact, Anna, was very helpful in working with my schedule and the schedule of my date to make it work well for us both. The date was set at Anis Bistro in Buckhead, a fantastic, laid back restaurant with great food, friendly staff and a fun atmosphere. The date itself was fun, and the staff at 1on1 did a great job of finding someone with a lot of mutual interests and hobbies, so a lot of the awkwardness that sometimes comes with a first date was taken away because there was already a little bit that we knew we had in common. My work keeps me on the road a good bit, so navigating the dating world, let alone just meeting anyone at all, is a bit of a challenge. The proposition of getting dates without having to go through the dating scene it Atlanta was great. And if you are considering a service like this then, you must be well off. The joining price is quite steep which is fine as you are told the price off the bat - and you have to pay in full before you get dates -, but the level of service that you receive after the fact will leave you wondering if its worth it. First of all the dates are not customized to you, so if you are a guy, get ready to burn through money like its nothing. The service sets you up on dates at some of the most high end and expensive restaurants in the city of Atlanta. Essentially you are going on a random blind date with someone you cannot call or speak to or see until the day of the date. The expectation is on you the guy to pay for the random date. Which is fine, however, why set people up at these very expensive restaurants with random strangers for roughly $180 to $200 a date night when there are very high risks you might not even like the person? If you do not get along with the person, its money and time just wasted on your tab. So, imagine doing this 5 or six or ten dates and see how it adds up both in time and money. It might be better to set up more reasonable down to earth dates like at a coffee shop or something creative and cost effective both in time and money that you both can do so as to see if there is chemistry with the person and then take it from there. This is the least you would expect for paying these crazy sums. The lazy thing is to look up the most expensive restaurants and set everyone up on these dates. If you do not like the person, then tough luck... you are out those dollars and you have wasted the time. So as a guy, get ready to burn through money because these are ladies that run the service and they do not look at it from the perspective of a guy. Its all on you. read more

I just completed a year. Their matchmaking abilities are questionable. I think I had one date where it went to a second date. The rest really had nothing in common with me. When I mention that the dates didn't seem to be what I was looking for and re-explain what I was looking for, nothing seemed to change. The so called professional "Matchmaker," you meet when you sign up. She doesn't ever contact you again after the money is exchanged. At the end, when I voiced my dissatisfaction, the owner Sarah, just released me stating had meet their date obligation for my contract and didn't acknowledge my issues. ***Beware the contracts has a set number of date on it BUT they say don't worry with that number ( and scratch through it ) that they will match for the entire year. I was at a dinner party full of couples and began talking to the business partner of a friend of mine who had tried a matchmaker in another city back when he was single. He characterized the process as hiring a professional headhunter for one's dating life and it piqued my interest. A few days later, I performed some research online and found myself on the website for One on One Matchmaking. After perusing the various websites in town, theirs appealed to me the most. I suppose it was partly due to the sense that they seemed more selective in who they'd take as a client (a standard I was hoping they'd apply to my potential match-ups if I joined), and partly on their more balanced emphasis on an applicant's income in comparison with who you are in general. I was looking to meet compatible singles based on similar interests, personality, looks, disposition, etc. - not those just looking for a sugar-daddy. Meh - no thanks. Anyway, my experience as a client has been extremely positive so far. I've never had much of a problem getting dates, either online, through friends, at bars or a random party etc., but this vastly increases the odds of meeting compatible singles in a far shorter period of time. I'm a busy professional with a good social life and various hobbies - I'm simply past the point in my life where I have the time or inclination to go out to a bar three or four nights a week just on the off chance there'll be someone there I'd like to ask out. I can't speak for anyone's experience but my own, but my experience at One on One was that they genuinely took an interest in learning about me, listening to what I was looking for, and evaluating what I might offer to others in their network. Shortly after I joined I was at first kind of taken aback by how quickly the process started - a week or so later, I was on dates with attractive, intelligent, well adjusted and "normal" women I would never have met otherwise. Let me begin by saying I don't believe there is a magical pill for dieting or for dating. I have gone on 3 dinners with Eight at Eight and each time they get better. Honestly, I haven't found fireworks, but what I have found is my confidence to networking and meeting new people. I am ~6 months into a year long membership...unfortunatley, at this point, I've found more value in match.com Pros: -oneonone makes the reservations for you -you meet people that you would not have otherwise met (this is only a pro if you like to meet new people) Cons: -oneonone's matching abilities are questionable because there have been no second dates yet (comparing with my matches from match.com where I found about 30% of dates lead to second dates) -Number of matches from oneonone in 6 months=7, number of matches from match.com=50+ -the "service" aspect from oneoneone has become more reactive and I was expecting proactive service out of a high-quality dating service...I've had to call them to ask about dates and to follow-up after dates versus them calling me Conclusion: match.com is the better offering (service and price) -When looking at the numbers: match.com is a max of $30/month and oneonone is $250/month -match.com provides more matches and a higher percent of matches that lead to second dates -both services, you are having to take action for each match (match.com by email, and oneone by automated follow-up on a website or by calling oneonone) read more

They make all of the arrangements. They are very professional. I haven't found "the one" but I have met some very nice guys. All have been very pleasant experiences. Sarah Kathryn, Jennifer, and the staff took time to get to know me and my preferences in order to schedule dates with really great guys. Following dates, they utilized feedback well to specify their matches for me so each date was tailored to my needs.
