i love this yoga studio. ive been doing their introductory unlimited membership to get a feel of everything they offer and every single class has been incredible! the slow flow & sound is one of my favorites and their flow+ is so energizing and challenging! huge fan. everyone is incredibly kind and the teachers 8/10 times check with you personally before class to ask your name or if you have any tension in your body. i feel super cared for and comfortable here! zero pretentious vibe, lots of respect for yoga and it's roots. highly recommend joining! read more

I realized that there was too much space between my yoga studio and my home, and ODD, less than ten minutes from me, came highly recommended. So I tried an 8:15 candlelight Flow class, and loved it. Definitely not an intense work out (I'm used to hot yoga and Muay Thai) but super meditative and relaxing. The space is huge and clean, the lighting just right, and the sound system was somehow present and crisp but not too loud. I parked in seconds but I would imagine it might not be as easy for prime time classes. All in all, I'm very happy with ODD and will surely be back. read more

I signed up via Classpass because I liked the name and the idea of a class called "In person Chill." Honestly, I've always been iffy about Yoga due to a not so great experience. However, my experience at this studio with Angela was very different. The front desk staff was welcoming and friendly as well. This was the best yoga class I've ever been to. Every movement was intentional and guided well. The cues were great and understandable for this yoga noob. There was a lot of hip opening and for someone with chronic back pain, I appreciated all of the spinal movements and stretches. Angela provided great corrections and her voice was gentle and helped me to really fully concentrate on being present. I'm sitting here writing this review over an hour after class with my body still relaxed, almost as if I had gotten a massage. I will definitely be back. read more

I've been able to go deeper into my practice by exploring asana I've been hesitant to try on my own. I would describe this class as challenging play. I honestly can't say enough about One Down Dog. It gets me emotional thinking how it's already enhanced my life...in just the 1.5 weeks it's been a part of it. I haven't had a yoga studio or community stir something in me as much as it has. I picked up yoga during a 5 year stint in San Francisco and have struggled since moving back to LA- I've spent years off the mat simply because I couldn't find a studio that I connected with or that evoked the same sort of feelings my faves in SF did. ODD is all of those that I loved there...and more. Within minutes after my 1st class, I was inquiring about class package pricing. It's a truly, truly special studio. This location is their newest: the space blew me away because it is exactly what I was seeking- stunningly beautiful, clean, modern, and just overall great vibes from the staff and decor to the class offerings and playlists. I LOVE that not only are there so many different class types, but a good range of times. I commute to OC so absolutely welcome the fact that I can squeeze in a late class on the way home, before I wind down for the night. Natalie was my 1st instructor who was just beyond. So good: loved her active flow style, clear instruction, and energy. 2nd was Essence, who was just so spiritual, cool, funny. Started with great breathwork and escalated into a seriously invigorating flow. Took a CHILL class the other day with Erin who just emanates a kind soul. I love that the instructors I've experienced so far really do make an effort to get to know and welcome you, without being overbearing like at some other places. If this is how 3 classes down is, I can't wait to try more. And I can, thanks to their student special of $50 for unlimited 30 days, valid at ALL locations. Special shout out to their staff both at the front desk (seriously how are all of them so awesome??) and via e-mail (thanks Grace) as just my interaction with them warmed my heart. They just give off some great, kind vibes, nothing sales-y or pushy. I am also kind of obsessed with the community - no clique-y vibes, just warmth and realness. Hit up their socials to catch the vibe (also love that they have an app!) There is a sense of respect that's truly unique and makes me shed my inhibitions everytime I enter those doors. No body/skill insecurity, or any sense that I don't fit it, even if I'm just getting my yoga legs back. I like a lot of men and women I've seen come here solo, but genuinely feel at home with the students. Too often I've come across a studio that is either too old-school/traditional or too new-school/fusion for my liking. ODD is right in the middle. Took me just a week to fall fully in love. read more

I've been going to One Down Dog in their other locations for a while, so I was thrilled to hear of this location opening in Echo Park so close to Downtown. I work in City Hall, so when they opened I was able to get from the Civic Center to ODD in about 8 minutes! Anyone working downtown this is the place for you. Plenty of street parking on Laveta Terrace and Court... Free parking too! The studio is beautiful with exposed wood and brick, new hardwood floors. Clean bathrooms. 2 changing stalls is great coming from work. Cubbies for shoes in the entry and cubbies for bags and stuff in the rooms. The studio has two yoga rooms, big dog and little dog. They also offer massage and other services. I've taken a few classes in Big Dog already. The schedule is great offering up Flow classes before and after work, and other types of classes as well such as sweat (like hiit with yoga) and chill for an easier flow. Check out their schedule as they have something for everybody. The people here make up a very welcoming supportive community I love so much. read more

Hoo boy. Where to start. Upon entry to this place I got hit with a trust fund scented wave of white privilege so strong it almost knocked me over. If you can make it past the front desk, brace yourself. There's more. The walls of the studio are decorated with pastel graffiti thats reminiscent of the toys r us logo. The best way I can describe how horrible these graffiti murals are is that episode of 30 rock where Liz lemon is in corn rows trying to rap at the Apollo and falls off the stage and gets overwhelmingly booed. If she had a gender reveal party, I imagine she'd have it here. Let's get to the actual class. The flow plus class is advertised as a challenging flow set to music with constant movement. The teacher spent over half of the class name dropping and showing off his hand stand skills while we sat and watched. I can't remember a time I was in a place that has given me a stronger flight response. And I grew up in the Catholic Church. At one point the instructor had us holding onto yoga blocks, balancing them in our hands trying to recreate an episode of Cheers. I wish I was making this up. I've lived in LA for ten years and have grown used to the climate here but this establishment violates my East coast sensibilities so much that I was getting a rage headache. If this instructor could stop calling us "friends" and just teach the class I might at least feel like I got my moneys worth. This place is the Ed Hardy of yoga studios. If you feel you are among LAs douche bag elite, I heartily recommend this studio. read more

Love this studio! I am an unlimited member and have been coming since 2015. There are a few BIPOC teachers whom I love dearly that make sure their classes are all bodies and people friendly. Some BIPOC teachers I highly recommend include: Courtney's flows, Este's FITT and Sculpt classes, Cindy's sweat is unique and always different, and Essence has incredible energy her 75 min flows cover a ton! FYI if you attend Este's class be prepared to turn up and sweat! Your body may hurt for a few days but it feels soooo good! I also really love Katherine's class both flow and chill. She takes care of everyone who attends, even if virtually. And I really love Audrey's sculpt and sweat classes that are HITT like. She kicks your ass but she got me into shape! Lastly, I completed my YTT at the Silverlake location and the thing that makes this studio it -- is the community. I have made friends in class and invested in the YTT to deepen my practice and the space really pushes folks to create community. read more

I walked into ODD The first time exactly 7 months ago. I had always been intimidated by yoga studios, but my friend David convinced me that ODD was different. And he was right. The very first time I entered, the person at the reception desk made me feel at home. Looking around as I set up my mat I knew I made the right decision. I saw people of all ages, gender, color, and size. The teacher had no problem assisting me. And when I left that evening, that same receptionist sincerely hoped to see me again. So I returned. And returned. And 7 months later I continue to attend classes - though now from my home. ODD is truly more than a studio. It is a village of wonderful, caring people. I stumbled on ODD's April '21 Challenge and thought it was the perfect opportunity to give them a try. I immediately felt really welcomed and have truly been enjoying my practice, even on days when I really don't want to show up. I've been to their Silverlake and Eagle Rock locations, but the Echo Park location may very well be my favorite. It's a very modern-looking studio and the aesthetics really make you feel relaxed. The instructors are great! I especially love Ducky Punch and have taken numerous classes with her. She always delivers what you need and super funny Parking is easy for now since there's a private lot with about 5-6 spaces, but when other businesses open up around here, you are better off parking on the streets. read more

As a regular at the Silverlake location, I think I'm qualified to say this place is the One Down Dog spirit taken to the nth degree. It's aesthetically pleasing, it's warm, it's welcoming. The boutique is pitch perfect, the water fountain is an amazing touch and there's a parking lot!! The class offerings range widely but stay consistent with ODD's top notch quality at their other studios. I love, love, LOVE this studio, this community, and how great it feels to flow among friends. If you're considering going, the only advice I have is to plan on going a lot more than you expected!! I've been attending One Down Dog since the beforetimes, but they have been such a lifesaver during the pandemic especially. They have zoom classes online all day every day, and the breadth of class styles means that there's something to meet my needs no matter how I'm feeling. I love the instructors (shout out to Audrey ) and have stayed both physically fit and mentally sane over the past year in no small part thanks to them. I also appreciate their social justice orientation and all the workshops, affinity classes, and fundraisers they do for our communities. This truly is the most wonderful yoga studio. The space is bright and open, all of the staff is kind and welcoming, and their are so so so many class options! Whether i just want to relax and breathe or get a really intense cardio workout, there's a class and at so many different times too! I am so excited this yoga studio has opened. I have been a big fan of the ODD community for a while but there is something really special about this space that is super inviting and welcoming. I've been practicing at ODD for a year and absolutely love it. It's been a challenging year for me due to a myriad of health issues, but this studio and community has been such an important part of my healing process. I mostly take the Chill and Flow classes and my favorite teachers have been Audrey, Adam, and Essence. I am intensely introverted and also suffer from PTSD but the teachers here are all gifted, genuine souls that create a safe, beautiful, healing space to practice. I have heard such great things about some of the fast paced workout style classes and can't wait to try them when my body is ready. I practice primarily at Silverlake because of location, but when I have time and it works with my schedule I absolutely adore the Echo Park space. read more
